After service – Built with Ventura a couple of years ago...well below average tradies and workmanship. I was actually wondering if they were tradies at all. Now the time has come where the house is falling apart. Rang Ventura 4 weeks ago and was told to email pictures so as they can forward them onto their maintenance Dept. Did this immediately and still heard… Read more
nothing. Rang them against 3 weeks ago and asked what was going on to which I was told my info would be passed on to the maintenance Dept who will be in contact straight away...still nothing. Am now at the 4 week mark after the initial phone call. I will try and get hold of someone today. If I have no luck I will be contacting the building commission. This is the 3rd house I've built and by far the worst finish. Would not recommend.
Walls and floor cracking, doors can’t be closed – In 2002 Ventura homes built my home. In 2019 small cracks started to increase in size. In 2021 I contacted the builder. In 2022 I was told that the builder would not do anything. Please be very careful if you choose this builder. Show details
Potential Home Builder Beware – My experience post construction with BGC can only be described as poor. I’m starting to regret my decision to contract with this builder. Since 2018 I have reported a defect, which leads to significant water ingress into the house damaging my expensive floorboards. After extensive and numerous engagements, the passage of time and the fact the… Read more
defect is still outstanding in mid 2022. I’m not of the view BGC a credible business. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that BGC are acting in a professional, diligent, and expeditious manner. The BGC maintenance dept is characterized by an absence of process, customer service, accountability, and resources to attend to legitimate defective workmanship. I paid the complete and total contract value, no delays, no excuses. I have politely requested that I’m afforded the opportunity meet with BGC’s maintenance manager to discuss how we can address this matter with due care and out delay. However that request has been declined. Perspective buyer beware and walk straight past this inept orginisation.

Big thanks to Ventura – We collected keys to our beautiful house on 8th April 2020. We could not be happier with our house. Big big thanks to entire Ventura team for turning our dream home into a reality with such perfection, all while meeting a tight timeline for our building completion. The efforts from Chad, Marc and entire construction crew has been commendable.… Read more · 1
Fiona our client liaison officer was fabulous and so easy to communicate with. Special shout out to Patrick and Lauren, we are so glad that we met you right in the beginning. Your knowledge regarding all design customizations and helping us select this house which fits perfectly on our block were outstanding. We have moved into our house now and receiving all the compliments from neighbours. We make sure to recommend Ventura to anyone who is planning to build. Thanks once again to entire Ventura team!
Home Extraordinaire – We had sold our home prior to meeting Ventura's sales representative, stunning Kelly at the show home. She drew up the plans for our new house according to our wishes and altered them as we wished to have a larger kitchen. She was always professional and charming when we popped in to see her on numerous occasions to discuss the house, even… Read more · 1
helping us find a block of land to fit the new home on. We then bought a block in Bushmead. The wheels were put in motion by the Ventura ladies at the Perth office, helping us choose the materials, colours etc. Once everything was signed and deposit paid it was smooth sailing. The pad then went down soon after, then walls and roof cover just seemed to spring up in no time. There has not been a glitch in the progress of this magnificent house. We cannot thank Ventura enough for their quick and efficient work. We even had a superb gift from Ventura. Thank you. How Very Ventura!
Building The Monterosso – Management was not good as problems could have been avoided and affected the incoming Trades ie slab, lintels and windows were out of alignment. The line of communication to trades was too long and ineffective. Workmanship was inconsistent, some Trades good others not. Company could have avoided problems and excessive wastage by timely attention. Costs were clearly informed before proceeding. Show details · 1

The ups and mostly downs of building with Ventura South West – Our experience started off great, we had so much fun designing our first home with the design consultant. He listened to what we wanted for our home, and guided us in areas we were unsure about. He made it easy, and was one of the reasons we decided to put our trust into Ventura and sign with them. Our pre-start was fun, with a great selection to… Read more
choose from. We had a number of client liaison officers throughout our build due to them leaving the company, which is where it started to go down hill. Communication dropped off, any questions regarding the plans we had between the previous and current liaison personnel were either not passed on or documented.
From here the majority of queries or questions we had in regards to the functionality and flow of our house were met with resistance (from the build supervisor and liaison officer) and a potential $500 variation "deterrence". Not until the lock up phase did we begin to notice issues with the overall quality of workmanship, which lead us to seek an independent building inspectors advice. After 3 informative inspections and a long list of defects, a manager for Ventura was brought through and personally shown each fault (most cosmetic, some not-so) and the long list was reduced to only a handful which we were fine to live with.
Skip ahead to the 6 month post hand over and we are still waiting/dealing with the lack of communication to have simple items around the house (reoccurring cracking, incorrect conduit/taps) fixed. emails typically unanswered or when promised to be contacted later in the day/week, it never happens.
To put a positive spin on the experience, we do love our house, but not the hoops we had to (and are currently going through) one day finish it.

Excellent experience so far – Ventura Homes was the first builder we spoke to, and we were very impressed with New Home Consultant, Clint Joy. There was no pushy sales talk; he took a genuine interest in what we were looking for and the lifestyle we wanted to create, without overextending our budget. We were also very taken with Ventura's build quality, fixtures, and finishes… Read more · 1
which provide good value for money.
Wondering if this was all too good to be true, we continued on our research journey, looking at other builders and speaking to their consultants. Many display villages and conversations later, our initial thoughts were confirmed - Clint and Ventura were the right home building team for us.
Clint helped us find a fantastic lot of land and translated our house dreams into a great design. Finance Broker, Yasmin has also been super helpful. Both are very professional, accommodating, and responsive. Nothing has been too much trouble.
Thanks, guys. We're now looking forward to pre-start and beginning construction. Keep up the great work!

1st Build Sub-Division – 1st Build - Sub division Owner Design. We initially payed $3000 deposit with a well known builder, stating that as long we felt you are being honest we were happy to continue. They weren't.... display home. I explained our scenario to Simon, feeling he may be just another sales rep after business, mentioning that we were close to signing off with our second choice builder and all appeared well up to this stage. We were happy for him to view our plan but felt he would be wasting his time however, we could not of been more wrong. Simon totally changed the design of our house, to suit our sub division, explaining that it was totally the wrong way around to suit the suns orientation and gave us so much more cost saving advice which we hadn't considered. It was a no brainer to write off our second deposit and we signed with Simon on the strength of his advice and knowledge, which in turn has saved us much more money in the long run. We have just completed a very enjoyable colour selection with Hedy and our Pre Start is at the final stages of completion with the more than helpful Stef. We will keep posting updates as we go through the building process with Ventura and would strongly recommend speaking with Simon Mort, before you put pen to paper with anyone else and are happy to answer any personnel messages sent.

Customer-centric service – The service we had from start to completion was exceptional. It wasn't about company profit, it was about customer needs. The build manager was amazing from start to finish we knew he had our best interest at heart. He listened to us and gave advice based on our needs and resolved queries quickly. Show details
We have absolutely loved building through Ventura! All the staff were always helpful, supportive and knowledgeable! – The build was always managed well and we were kept up to date with everything. Any issues were dealt with promptly and professionally. We may have spent slightly over our budget, however, we love the final product. Our only constructive feedback is the painting did not meet our expectations or Ventura Standards. Show details
Great service! – We couldn't be happier with the sales service provided by Simon Mort. emails, and happy to discuss and clarify more complicated design aspects over the phone. If he didn't know the answer to our question, he would find out from the relevant person at Ventura with expertise in that design aspect. This gave us great confidence in Simon, and knowing he was mindful of our budget made the custom design of our house stress free.

Imagine the worst that can happen to you – I am not sure about people with good review (even if they are real), but this is what happened to me so far. Please read and if you are ready for such a torture then you had some informed decision. The only reason I selected Ventura was because looked like it has some structure. This is by far the worst I could imagine. Imagine I signed up a… Read more
contract late 2019 and still my pre-start hasn't finished by the look of it. It has been 10 months now.
Imagine a simple design draft work took 2 months to come out. Imagine it came out wrong after 2 months!
Imagine even the slap layout in the final design document was completely wrong!
Imagine that was so many errors in the design as simple like Man Hole open to no where! You feel no one check whats going on.
Imagine any time some pricing showed up the next revision couple of $K has been added to it!
Imagine after I signed the contract I get a notification within a months that BGC has bought Ventura! You are taking the most important financial decision of your life and they just won’t let you know about it. Imagine Ventura won’t be in the market anymore and you just signed a contract with them!
Imagine they just tell you BGC is not interested in building your house! Ventura is pulling out double story house market! They just don’t let you know before signing the contract. That much dishonest! You have an option of staying with BGC or cancel. The first would be a company who is not interested in your build.(expect years of delay). The second option means you lose 10 months of time , effort , Money , your initial 5K down payment gone (Or at least portion of it). More turning to a poker game now.
Imagine you sign a contract and the Rep person who got you sign leaves the company within two weeks!
Imagine after you sign the contract they just call you and say: You know what? We want to add 3500$ to the total price and we send you another contract to sign! Because we think things are getting expensive! Imagine you have spent 6 month of back and forth which you just say to hell with it, ok take my money.
Imagine you book a pre start meeting a month ahead and then two days before the meeting, they want to reschedule it as they are not ready! Of course you and your partner took day off, arrange a person to look after the kids and etc. the cost is always on you.
Imagine you go to pre-start meeting and nothing is available! Samples are not available because BGC now own the company. They are building another location and they start by you choosing your prestart material online!
Imagine the appointment persons are not available! Imagine they tell you to meet next two days for some electrical consultant and when you go there on time this hasn't been done! Again you had a day off and etc. Cost on you.
Imagine after the prestart meeting now your "Prestart consultant" person is leaves the company within a week!
Imagine they hire a new person to deal with all costumers. Month would go by for this person to even look into your file.
Imagine you have two writing emails from last pre-start consultant saying everything is done and nothing else waiting for you BUT after a month of silence you call them and realise no one even looked at your file!
Imagine after a months which they told you pre-start finished they say: NO its not! They have to do some drafting and send you documents to sign!
Imagine last person told you the construction would start within 2 months and after 40 days you realise your pre-start hasn't even finished and months of administration a head of you!
Imagine you call BGC because there is no one by the name of Ventura and they pass you to only one person who is so busy and flooded which is technically unavailable.
Imagine calling every half an hour, leaving message and email and nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Imagine even going to BGC building you can’t meet with any one responsible.
Imagine not even a simple task or schedule be on time. Just for the sake of example.
If you like what happened to me then go for it. I am not making this up and I can provide evidence if you like.
It is easy now a days people are hiding behind COVID-19 but that is a lazy excuse. A very lazy and dirty excuse.
UPDATE: 3/1/2023 and I am still building! No kidding. Probably for another 6 months. If you see the name Ventura or BGC just think twice. It has been a nightmare. So frustrating that I don’t have energy to bored you with. These guys main business is butchering your soul not building your house. You have no protection against them . No law, no government nothing. They will take your money, rape your soul and poop in your dreams. If you dare to build, get a lawyer before signing. Ask him to review the contract. Don’t think of $$$. I wish I knew this before signing

Not reliable – We built with Venture, moved in March 2016, everything was fine until the house start leaking in March 2018. We contacted Ventura, they were happy to come and fix it. following our suggestion, last year 2019, Ventura came with last suggestion that I need to change my down pipe for that Ventura and us will have to share the cost. which did not make any sens as I was 100% sure the problem was not the down pipe. this year (2020) I decided to engage a technician, I explained the problem, the guy fixed the problem. it's a shame that a big company like Ventura cannot take ownership and responsibility of their own mistakes. When trying to explain, they can completely ignore your point, delaying responses all the times.
Updated – So far, Ventura Homes have justified our decision to sign with them. Sales person, Rob Blundell, was by far the most proactive with our home ideas. several times and found him to be very knowledgeable. He was honest about all costings ( we had no nasty surprises at contract time) and went out of his way to make our experience a good one. Since then we have met with Hedy in colour selection and were once again very happy with the experience. Whilst keeping your preferences in mind, she is able to come up with options we wouldn't have thought of on our own. We had fun and are very happy with the choices made. We look forward to meeting other members of the Ventura team and expect the end result to be as equally fabulous as the staff met so far.
Very good build ...BUT – First up, our home is amazing, the build is a high standard and we love it. Here comes the part that you may not want to hear Ventura. not have been made, as we were disappointed when they were did not eventuate. The salesman said anything to get a sale which left us unsatisfied with the sales and contract process. We were hesitant going into the build process but ended up delighted with Doolan and Chad, these two gentlemen changed our opinion of Ventura. The attention to detail and knowledge together with their support to us through this period was first class. Chad took over the management of our build at the very late stages and together with our Client Liaison Manger Belinda gave us a truly professional service ensuring the build quality was kept at a high standard. The regular updates and documentation of the build and variations was excellent.
Post build, there are minor items that we just want repaired and our home finished. As some of these are items were identified at the pre handover inspection (9 months ago) our patience is gone. We gave Ventura our list of items to be repaired for our 6 month inspection two months ago, and we are still waiting for repairs to commence.
18 November 2019 - Update Four trades have come to complete repairs. Two said they couldn't do the job and wriggled out of it for one excuse or another eg: one would not take responsibility for the artificial turf being damaged and he said the job was not worth it for him, if he did damage the grass as it is was a large area to replace. Gutter guy came to look at gutters overflowing from the top, he decided it was due to a small amount of sand in the gutter and did not want to look into it further. I admit it was a hot day to be climbing around on the roof (39 degrees) but 100grams of sand would not block a gutter and make it overflow from the top. One did not complete all the items on the work order because Ventura made errors in the work order and it did not belong to his division of the company and Ventura would need to raise new work orders. Good news one person did arrive to complete a job they were given. The success count is 1 out of 4.
Amazing Service, Amazing Salesman and Customer Service!!! – We had obtained a large block of land but were undecided on a builder. visited a show home located in Eglington and thats where we met Clint.
Clint was so professional in his initial interactions with us. We were honest with him in terms of the fact we were interested in another builder as well, however this didnt deter him in the slightest. We explained what we were looking for as the layout we were seeking was quite unique. Clint then liaised with us over the course of 2 weeks to get a design drawn up and kept us in the loop of every stage. We then arranged to meet him at the showroom where he presented us with our design and showed us round. It was at this point that my husband fell in love with Ventura (and Clint I think!) and we were at loggerheads for over a week. During this time Clint kept checking in with us to see if we were happy with the design etc, I was honest that I wasnt completely sold on the idea as it didnt quite include what I had envisaged. He then took timeout of his weekend on a Saturday to meet us in the showroom and show us round again and sat down to redo the drawings so that it would cater for my requests in terms of my dressing room. This was the point that I succumbed to his charms (not in a creepy way) but agreed with the hubby that I thought we should go with Ventura. We were so impressed by his customer service and his willingness to make sure that we got everything right and we were completely happy.
Ill be honest I am quite a control freak, so after we had signed the initial contracts I asked him for a list of all the show homes Ventura had, and explained that I would be visiting them over the next few months so I could ensure that I had included everything in the design. I wanted to make sure that the design was absolutely perfect and I had thought of everything. I figured that, that would be it from him (you know what salesman can be like), but to my surprise he even offered to help us out and accompany us round to the show homes. My hubby and I took the day off work and we meet Clint who then went and opened the show homes outside of viewing hours and walked us through making his recommendations of what would look good etc. This level of customer service was way above what we expected and we were really grateful for him taking the time to do this for us. I would also like to mention that I think he should add couples negotiator to his resume. The poor guy found himself in some awkward situations where me and hubby were arguing about designs on multiple occasions but he managed to find a resolution that worked for both of us whilst not taking sides, which I know can be very difficult.
Ventura is extremely lucky to have a guy like Clint as if it wasnt for him I dont believe we would have gone with them, it was down to his customer service that we decided to go with them.
Clint was not just a salesman for helping us with our home but I truly believe hes the sort of guy we would like to stay in contact with and invite over for a beer and bbq in the house that he has essentially designed from scratch for us.
Thankyou Clint helping us find our dream home, Im really looking forward to it progressing to build stage and celebrating with you with a steak and a beer once were in!!!!

nothing was too hard. She changed designs for us, to customise it to our requirements and priced up every single thing we questioned (no matter how small or extravagant). After we worked it all out we moved onto the pre-start. What a dream!! An interior designer to help go through every decision and colour. From how well the wood stain of my front door was going to match my wall and floor colour as you open the door to making sure the laundry cupboards didn't clash with my floor boards. The building has begun!! We are mid-build and so far it's brilliant. Things are moving really well. Any issue we have had (albeit very minor) have been resolved really quickly. To say we are excited and satisfied with the build so far would be an understatement, very much looking forward to watching the rest of the build progress until completion. A massive thank you to Ventura for making this such a pleasurable experience, would definitely choose them again!

agreed upon during contract signing was the price I paid at the end.
The build started off great. Great quality in the work however slowed right down in the middle of the build. I wasn't happy with the delays however did not want to rush them as I was happy with the build quality so far and do not want to compromise the quality for the sake of a few months. Overall the build time was 1 year and 4 months for a double story. Maybe in hindsight I should have mentioned the slow progress halfway through to the office as my building supervisor was changed out of the blue after that and the progress started happening after that. Noticed that a few trades used during the build are Ventura preferred trades that worked on their display home so I had no complaints on the quality of the build so far.
Overall I am happy with Ventura. Few small problems but was all resolved and there wasn't anything difficult I had to experience. I would build with them again.
The build quality is decent, but – We started the process dealing with Ventura Homes in late 2017, it took a little while about 7 months to complete all the paperworks to get us to the building process due to turnover of staff. However, the building process was very fast, there isn't much issue so far other than settlement cracks, and there was a leak in the tiled roof which has… Read more
been fixed. We have been living in the house for 7 months now and are enjoying it. When dealing with Ventura, we were not quite happy with the fact that the salesperson drew a design as per our request knowing that the council wasn't going to approve just to get us to sign the contract, as a result we had to have the rooms size reduced. This has made the depth of the water tap to the bath tub positioned at the end of it deeper, and this was not rectified on the plan, so we now have this water tap and mixer that are so deep and difficult to reach. We had made some amendments to the plan, so had been charged extra for these hoeever the final cost was still within our budget. Also the waiting time for getting items attended to at the end of the 6 months maintenance period is a bit long but the inspector did mention it so was okay. I was offered a $100 bunnings gift voucher for writing a review here, so will see whether they will mail me the voucher. I have to say Ventura Homes services are quite average as I've heard worse. Finally, I was satisfied dealing with my construction supervisor, the Admin manager Lisa and the inspector Michael and most tradis I've met on-site.

quoted on the contract was 33% which we considered grossly excessive. We were also presented with Special Conditions Annexure-Amendments to the HBCA Lump Sum Building Contract containing multiple changes to the standard contract which we believe eroded consumer rights. Please be very, very careful if you are attracted to this builder, they will come in with a low initial price and then make a very healthy profit with markups on the changes & extras, we won't be touching them with a barge pole.
Note that I did not receive the following offer; Ventura Homes is offering the choice of a $100 Bunnings gift voucher or $100 Coles/Myer voucher, to their customers to encourage them to write a positive or a negative review.

The main entrance door is still not fixed, we always pick something new that needs fixing anytime we get the chance to enter.
Now work has just stalled because for the third time, they are changing supervisors again or actually we don't have one as I write this review.
We are on our third liaison officer and I won't be surprised to hear that there is a change in that sector too.
When you talk about it, they tell you they are not behind according to the contract because they are allowed "250 working days." Basically they take their time whilst others are building and handing over in 26 weeks.
They don't care one bit about you and your project, especially after they have collected majority of the contract money.
It is unfortunate that by the time someone will go to the length to read this review, they might have signed up already and are going through the same pain as we are.
At this stage, my lender doesn't understand why Ventura is taken 4 months to come and ask for the final payment.
Others who started about 10 weeks after us have moved into their houses, we don't even know what is happening to ours. They are now saying commissioning with works being reworked at all times.
My advice to anyone who wants to build with Ventura, please think carefully and make sure you take your time to read every bit of the contract before you sign, take time to make all changes and don't think that they will help you with any design changes because that is where they will be preying on youto make extra money.
Also, make sure that you involve an independent building inspector, whatever they charge, it is worth every cent if you are building with Ventura.
What a relief we picked Ventura Homes – Thank you Ventura Homes. Right from the start, when we met the Michelle in the display home, we knew we were dealing with a good builder. Our home was built within the time frames given and was managed very well throughout. Our supervisor kept everything on schedule and the customer service support were amazing, keeping us informed of developments at all times. We love our new home
