Why is my Electrolux cyclonic vacumn the pole keeps falling down when I vacumn

I purchased an Electrolux Super Cyclone ZSC6930 about 6-7 years ago. Has worked great but now the power cycles up and down. I have replaced the plug unit, cleaned all filters and ensured its not the power supply. Can I fix and replace any parts myself?

I've lost the filter out of the barrel. Can this be replaced?

Hi there, power cord not returning fully by approx 60% still left, recoiling slowly, heard a noise while using, may be a recoil spring broken. Any history of this happening on this model. Would appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Thanks Vic.

For me personally - the last 1/2 metre or so is very slow to recoil back inside the vac. It was a little worse but by un-kinking the cable it helped somewhat. Give un-kinking the cable a shot and see how it goes. Hope this helps.

Hi Mark, thanks for the suggestion, unkinked the cord but still no recoil beyond the 60%, cord doesn't feel under tension when pulling portion out and a brake should stop it returning - not there. The V/cleaner is very good, will live with the cord coiled up and pushed under the handle when not in use. Thanks again, cheers Vic.

Does it use too much electricity?

Rachel

How would I know, sorry.

The best way to determine the energy consumption is look at the wattage of the vacuum (most are around 2000 watts). That means, it would cost around $0.70 cents per hour to operate (based on $0.35c per kWh).

But given the motor burns out quickly on these units, they only use electricity for a short time before they no longer use anything :-)

Probably no more than other vacuum cleaners. Plus I went back to my old cleaner anyway.

The vacuum cleaner is getting hot & I thought that a part should rotate inside??

brian

Oh they do get hot and I don't think anything else can be done about it until it cools down though you could try moving the filter and emptying out the dust in the plastic / another thing you could try is putting a fan next to it if you like

What could help also is using at least a 3 metre vacuum cleaner as that's what I do i just use the 3 metres coles extension electric cord though there are other quality extension cords such click and hpm

If it is getting hot, does it need emptying? Where is it getting hot. Have you checked all of the filters including the one above the engine?

I bought this machine about 9 months ago and I must say it is the best vacuum I have ever had, the suction is absolutely incredible and it is so easy to clean......I cannot understand the bad reviews as it is such a good machine and it is hard to find vacuums with good suction and this one certainly has it. What I am after is exhaust filter part EFH12w as my one needs replacing......I am in Bundaberg Queensland.

Thank You

Vickie

Hi Vicky, I'm completely surprised also. Which is why I've been so disappointed that Electrolux hasn't been willing to at least exchange the product. The customer service rep basically told me off for posting a review saying if I don't contact them they couldn't help me. This despite the fact I took my concerns to both the Good Guys and to Elextrolux prior to posting. Their position - take it back to the service place. My position - after having the machine looked at twice, speaking with the Good Guys and Electrolux on several occasions I wasn't prepared to waste any more of my time trying to workshop the issue any further. Something I think I made pretty clear both in my post and to the customer rep. Last I understood they were going to send me an email about a store credit before the rep basically hung up on me. I've not received anything. I'm a genuinely honest and unsatisfied customer. You'll excuse me if I find it ironic that there are so many absolutely amazingly glowing reviews about this product, two immediately after my post mind you, with your question coming 2 hours after my phone conversation. I wish you all the best with your machine and finding parts, regards Kate

Yeah I tend to agree with you though it's best to use to to 2 or 3 rooms at a time then wait for it be low temperature then try again

You probably have hardly any choice though to go to the vacuum cleaner shop you bought the vacuum cleaner from or you could try buying online on the internet

1. Doest it have a retractable cord?

2. Why does it overheat so quickly?

Olitm
Olitm

1 Yes it has a retractable cord.

2. I assume it overheats due to the suction power. I don't have any problems due to overheating.

kim85

1.yes it does 2. stuff was getting caught on metal rings inside vacuum head

There are 5 speed settings. I use setting #3 which is quite powerful. I've not had overheating issues thus far but it may heat up if you use it at full speed for a prolong period. The chord is retractable but it is unbelievably short.

Someone has to fully unwind the cord when using the vacuum cleaner / when I use it I use an extension electronic power cord

brian

It could be also be that the overheating could be caused by dust getting stuck in the vacuum cleaner in the tube

I am cosidering buying this machine, but so confused between so good and too bad feedbacks. Is the overheating problem is just a bad luck faulty product or all of them have the same problem?

have electrolux done any thing about this problem?

Would like to hear from someone else having problems with this machine

We were under warranty, and so after taking the vacuum cleaner back several times, after it would just stop, we were given a replacement model which we have not had any issues with yet.

I did send you an answer but it might not have gotten through. If not, let me know.

Thanks Maria, I received on reply only that was from claire100. I don't know how this system works, and I am not sure if that was you. it says "We were under warranty, and so after taking the vacuum cleaner back several times, after it would just stop, we were given a replacement model which we have not had any issues with yet."

Thanks

It depends what you want to use the Electrolux vacuum cleaner for as well if you like to use the vacuum cleaner to clean a car it's alright though if you would like to use to clean and really big say a double storey building I probably wouldn't advise it

Anyway when I use the Electrolux super cyclone bagless vacuum cleaner I fully unwind the electric power cord plus I use an extension cord
