Waeco CoolFreeze CF-25 Questions & Answers
VerifiedDo you know if this unit takes a 240volt cable?
Why was the Waeco CF-25 fridge freezer discontinued
Is there any other fridge freezer of the same dimensions I have been using a Waeco CF-25 for the past 11 years it is a tight fit behind our land cruiser front seats, it has given us a great service.
How good is the freezer and can you adjust temp both sides?
Freezer or fridge? The CF-25 is only a 25 liter (a little less than that actually) total capacity. As a fridge or freezer, it works great, however it is not a dual zone. You'll need to go to a bigger capacity model to get that option.
Is this product suitable to be used continuously in the car for short trips? To keep water bottles cool when we go shopping, etc.? Does it affect it being turned on and off all the time, when the car is turned on and off? Or is it meant more for long trips?
The CF25 (no digital display) is a good little unit. The CF25 VERA (digital display) is even better. I'll answer your questions, as simply as possible (without writing an essay). Ideally the fridge should be provided with a stable & continuous 12volt supply. If this is from a cigarette lighter socket, the inside of the socket should be clean, especially the center (positive) connector. If not, use a dedicated power outlet, that is provided in some cars, HOWEVER, it is best to use one of Waeco's RAPS 36 portable battery packs, with a RAPS 12R-U2 twin power outlet kit. Although interrupting the power supply by starting and stopping the car is not suppose to damage the fridge, it is far better to avoid doing this repeatedly. If you're going to regularly use the fridge in the car, seriously think about getting the RAPS 36 battery pack with the RAPS 12R-U2 dual outlet kit. In a normal passenger car, this is the best way to go, and will give the best all round reliability and fridge performance.
what are the internal dimensions I need something with 350mm height internal?
You may be in luck.....and if so, only just!!! 310mm to top of "lip", then some extra space in the lid's internal cavity... Too close to call without trying it.....
