Westinghouse WMF4102 Questions & Answers
VerifiedDoes anyone else find that this model seems to generate moisture that stays on the inside surfaces? We have to leave the door open for the moisture to evaporate. Shouldn't the fan pump moist air out (or dry air in?)
Do you have sufficient clearance around the unit for ventilation? The manual recommends: "A minimum clearance of 7.5cm is required between the oven and any adjacent walls. Leave a minimum clearance 30cm above the oven."
Dose anyone have a problem with the door fogging up after cooking? I have had this happen with other microwaves but this happened last night & is still fogged this morning.
Hi guys is this a shiny black exterior colour or is it Matte black?
Is this product safe to be put in & operated from a hanging microwave cavity?
Since buying this microwave 4 months ago we have noticed 'bubbling' appearing on the Start button on the control panel. There is also peeling at the top left hand corner of the control panel. Is this a fault? Or is there a protective film present on the Control Panel that is now bubbling/peeling, which needs to be removed? We removed the protective film around the body of the microwave on installation, as it was obvious to the naked eye.
We had the same problem not long after purchase, And now it’s a lot worse, but it doesn’t seem like it’s a protective film. Did you end up peeling it off?
In our case, we took the microwave back to the store to ask because we didn't want to risk ruining it! The sales assistant said that it was a protective film (on the control panel) and to just peel it off. I did it right there in the store just in case but sure enough, off it came. I don't know if this is the same problem that you have but that was our experience. If it's under the 12 month warranty you could always take it back to the store and check first...
Thanks for this - I had the same issue and was getting ready to lodge a warranty claim when I found this post. Sure enough it was a piece of protective film that was bubbling and which I have now removed.
Twice now have had power cut and the 1st time the unit had to be left unplugged overnight for the touchpad to work properly, some numbers would not work. Another power cut today and same thing has happened, numbers 4,5,6,7,8,9 don't work. Looks like it's going back to the Good Guys tomorrow
Better get replacement quickly. I unplug mine 2x already and no problem.
When in operation, can you see your food through the glass to monitor its cooking? Especially for things like melting butter, look through glass as its cooking to see how melted it is.
Yes the light is fine you will have to look as it is a good mesh.
Same. It isn't super clear because of the mesh in the glass, but not too bad.
Yes, I agree about the mesh. The light is good though and I can watch milk rising in a jug as it boils to press stop before spillage.
The metal mesh is necessary to protect your eyes from cooking :)
Will the Westinghouse microwave model No WMF4102SA be suitable to place into a cavity 600mm w x 400 h x 500 d?
Not sure, check the specifications on-line. You're supposed to have 75mm gap on both sides and rear, and 300mm gap on top so the microwave has adequate ventilation.
Yes I agree with Marty K's comments. Ensure there is adequate ventilation.
Is the internal cavity of this microwave grey (like the white version), or is it black or very dark? Is the interior light bright enough to see the food while it's cooking?
It is grey. Yes the light is bright enough for us.
Has the control panel got protective/removable plastic covering?
Yes
Also it is best to speak to the sales team and get more clarification.
