and want spark again till it cools down; and on top of that no support form customer service and Joe BBQ the retailer , which keep referring us back to gas mate and not willing to help or sort out the problem, all they did was blame gas mate and suggest to lodge a complain with fair trading. Big disappointment and waste of money.

Great BBQ. Avoid the fridge – We've had our Gasmate Galaxy BBQ for 3 years now. For BBQing it's great and excellent quality. The double door fridge on the other hand I do not… Read more

recommend. When we received it the display was faulty which was replaced. After 3 years the fridge failed. The circuit boards that control this fridge fail often according to a few fridge repairers. I've now been told I have to wait 2 months for the part and at a cost of $650. The fridge only has a 2 yr warranty. Not happy

Gasmate 1095 gas leak – Leaking gas at connection between hose and stove. Contacted Gasmate. Told that the design has been changed and fittings to suit "old" 1095 are no longer available. A stove in excellent condition heading for tip. Not good enough!

DO NOT BUY the Odyssey 2 - unless you like poor workmanship and quality control. Bought this to replace our aging 6 burner Matador as we are now… Read more

only, as soon as I unpacked it, I knew I was in for a frustrating time.

1. Contents packing list is wrong. It listed items which were not to be found because they had been pre-installed, clips to hold the lid on (searched everywhere) nuts to hold the wheels on were already on the axel.

2. The assembly instructions show you how to attach the lid/hood ( it was already attached).

3. It describes how there are 4 pre-installed screws and which need to be loose. However the bits which should be attached only have 2 keyholes so you have to remove the pre-installed screws for 2.

4. Trying to refit 2 of the screws the threads were damaged in the socket - I had to go to Bunnings to by 2 x M6 12mm screws as the 15mm were not able to be screwed in the whole way.

5. Fitting the axle was a joke, its tapered, not intentionally, just poor quality. I got it fitted and attached a wheel, so far so good. The second wheel the hole to the axle was not only off-centred, it didn't fit because the axle was thicker at this end. I had to drill out the hole in the wheel to get it to fit.

6. The little plugs to fit and cover screw holes are another joke, The holes are not centred and the hole too big so the plugs fall out.

7. The cutout to take a standard gas bottle (8.5/9Kg) is too small so you can't place the gas bottle underneath; you have to leave it to the side. You can't place it on the solid shelf to use as the heat shield is on the wrong side.

Overall the design is OK, but the quality of the components are awful.

No I don't recommend this product unless you love frustration.

Great for camping and at home – With a height of 780mm and width 420mm its the perfect outdoor heating solution. Including a safety 'tip-over' switch thats stops the flow of gas for… Read more

Not as described – Does not heat as described. We bought 2x 3200w and they heat ok directly under them but do not radiate as described, our outdoor area is small no where near as big as it should be heating, I would stick to a gas heater.

troubleshooting with different configurations and different gas canisters, including the “gas mate” cans. Not fit for purpose in my opinion, and they should be stripped from the shelves. Best part of the weekend was running it over with my car after warming up with the camp fire.

said they've looked into the issue and can't find a problem. I suggested that they send their sales representative to my local bunnings store to inspect the faulty item because there's obviously a faulty batch in circulation. No further replies from them. Disappointed.

install a diesel heater but I did want to be able to warm things up for our occasional winter adventures.

I researched available options for a couple of weeks and found this portable heater to be the most suitable contender.

It is not perfect... - The exhaust is to low to the ground so we had to elevate it on bricks to prevent it burning the grass at the camp site - who wants to carry besser bricks when camping??? - The exhaust port needs to be pointed away from your tent or camper and protected from little children's fingers and family pets as it gets very hot. - The hot air duct is way too short to be useful for a camper but it would be fine for a tent - again, besser bricks to the rescue. - The hot air duct also does not attach very well and can fall off quite easily if bumped. - The control panel cannot easily be removed and placed inside the camper which means you control it via a key fob style remote and are unable to see what heat setting you have chosen or any other useful info. - The thermostat control mode does not allow you to select heat setting, which is a bit annoying.

That said ...

This thing is fantastic! It draws around 8A at 14v when the glow plug is on during start up ... but after a minute or so, it drops down to as little as 0.5A on heat setting #1.

It is quiet and heats up our small camper very quickly.

I ran it for 15-30 minutes before bed and 30 minutes in the morning. It made the trip so much more enjoyable to be able to change before and after bed, in a warm camper.

We had one particularly cold night and I decided to let it run all night on the lowest setting.

We slept comfortably and awoke to a warm camper, having used around 1 litre of diesel and very little power. With heater, fridge, lights, charging phones etc. the camper battery was back to 100% by 10am.

Whilst being able to duct exhaust up and away would be nice - (cant do that easily), the hot air hose is easily extended and to be able to leave it at home during warmer months, is great.

Best thing you can buy for winter camping so long as you have a decent battery and a means of protecting the heater from rain as it is not weatherproof and must be outside of your tent or camper.

I used matches to ignite it. No problems for another couple of weeks then it leaked gas at the cannister connection point & burst into flames, thankfully the safety cutout operated so no damage or injury was sustained. I returned it for refund & was informed this is a common issue however no recall has been issued. THIS STOVE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS & IF NOT RECALLED ONE WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY,

I find this product has very poor heating. Unable to adust flame to a high setting at all. Which leads to longer cooking times. I also find that I need to adjust the gas canister a few times for it to seal and not leak.

hinged cover was started to blister and come off. I sent an email to Gasmate, not so much as a complaint but asking could they tell me why this occurred. The unit was now two months out of warranty and in truthfulness was not expecting a reply. Blow me down I get a nice email from Gasmate asking to fill in a warranty claim and if possible send our reciept and photos of the unit, which I did. A few days later Gasmate advise they are going to replace the cover. The new unit arrived today and is now installed. Now that is service. !!!! I cannot express how thrilled we are not only with our BBQ but with a company that stands behind its product. Well done Gasmate!!!!
