Then it happened again and Harvey Norman said I only get an instore credit once , second time round which isn't what the warranty says or Consumer Affairs I foolishly bought a Rubbish Plasma TV for $3,200 that also failed 6 months out of warranty

TEMPUR ERGOPLUS PILLOW MEDIUM QUEEN - I had the original for years, loved it I travelled everywhere with it until it was time to replace. Bought the… Read more

new ergonomic model in smallest size Medium ! It felt ok for 5 minutes in store but then I bought it took home and after 30 minutes of a night into using my neck and side throat is being grabbed on by someone with 2 hands and and it is painful, I got a migraine and back and side pains too I never had before. I really am disappointed, not sure now as apparently cannot return it even after $190!! They should do a free 30 day or 5 night trial for customers. That said i purchased 2 , 1 fir a family member and they are ok with it thus far. If that continues to be the case then i think my head is smaller and would need a size down which doesn't exist in this model of pillow. It can't be that limited in size with just 2 options when the company brand are soo specialised in pillows , this is what designers and product researchers are paid for which is reflected inhe high cost at purchase, you think the research and testing would have already been done. Now i have new aches and pains. Not recommended for smaller built frames, and honestly the store assistants should be trained to help one assess if suitable. A waste of 190$ for me, as i cant even return to swap. Do not buy this newer version it is not comfortable and limits rolling on side as you have the indents on your side cheeks, and the ends are facing up so they pinch into your body. I also contacted Tempur direct about an exchange, and they bluntly refused with a standard 1 liner it is non-refundable. So you are paying a high price, with a questionable and poor level of post sale customer service.

I bought a Tempur ActivTech Medium Mattress from David Jones in June 2024. I have waited until now to review so that I could give a well considered… Read more

opinion. I hope this is helpful, because I had read so many bad reviews about Tempur mattresses that I was almost didn't buy one.

I first slept on a Tempur mattress about 5 years ago at an AirBnB. I slept really well during my stay so I decided that I would keep an eye out for sales and replace our mattress with a Tempur. I read lots of reviews to try to work out which Tempur mattress to buy and was a bit startled by the negative reviews because they did not accord with my experience. However my friend had a Tempur mattress and loved hers so I decided to press on and buy one.

The first few weeks on the mattress were AWFUL. I hated the mattress and thought I had made a big mistake. I bitterly regretted buying it. It felt really hard and I thought I would never have a comfortable night's sleep on it. But, over time, something changed. I don't know whether I got used to the mattress or whether it softened up but now I sleep extremely well on it. What I particularly love is that when my husband (who is quite heavy) moves at night it does not shake the whole bed. I was worried about the heat retaining aspect that people had complained about, but I run hot and have found the Tempur mattress to be cooler than my last mattress. The other real positive about the mattress is that we are not getting indents in it due to my husband's weight. The mattress looks exactly the same as when we bought it.

So all in all, a very happy experience and I'm glad I was not put off by negative reviews.

They have changed the foam for the worse. My wife has a version of this pillow from 10 years ago that has a beautiful soft feel with no issues with… Read more

foam distribution. I bought a second once last year to match but it is now terrible. The foam shifts within the pillow resulting in thin spots and thick spots within weeks. It gets so thin in places that there is no foam left. Tempur tells you to massage the foam back into place but this doesn’t work for more than a couple of nights. Don’t waste your money!

course of the evening the mattress would sink slowly, obviously the heaviest part of your body would sink further than the lightest so you would be sleeping in a curved position. The result was that we would get out of bed each morning with a sore back and having had very little sleep. I was beginning to think that maybe it was old age and the back pain was inevitable. However, it got so bad that, even though it cost a small fortune compared to other mattresses, I threw it away and bought a sleeping duck mattress. The difference is chalk and cheese. I now wake each morning feeling revived and no more sore back.

We recently got a Tempur Pro Air 21cm firm mattress. After years of sleeping on very firm mattresses, I’d been finding that I’m waking up during the… Read more

night in pain, needing to change position/roll over (need a hip replacement).

When we were mattress shopping, the sales person convinced me to try lying on a Tempur mattress. I didn’t really like the feel of it to start with, as even the firmest one they have has a little ‘give’ in it. I thought it would be too soft for me to sleep on.

However, he convinced me I wouldn’t experience the issues I’d been having on my previous mattress, so I bought one. Guess what? The sales person was right! I am sleeping so much better on the Tempur mattress. It’s also fairly light, so changing the sheets isn’t a problem with tucking under the mattress. I'm not finding it too hot to sleep on either (as a menopausal woman).

We managed to purchase when there was a sale on, which I recommend given their cost. Really glad we bought it, highly recommend!

I've used this pillow now for three weeks and like the previous review, I too found it to be lumpy and thin. (Thinner than the marketing photos, yet… Read more

it's listed as a side-sleeper pillow!) I unzipped the pillow to see why it’s thin and lumpy, and I found a mesh bag with scraps of Tempur pieces inside it. Seriously? I looked to see if I have missed something on the website, https://au.tempur.com/pillows/tempur-down-pillows-AUDOWNLUXPIL.html but I did not see a thickness in the specifications. Tempur responded to the previous reviewer, so I reached out to them via email and asked, "Is there anything that can be done to improve the thinness and the lumpiness?", however they simply said (abridged) " . . . sorry. In order for TEMPUR to assist you further, please return to the store where you purchased your TEMPUR® product and discuss your concerns with the in-store staff. As your product was bought from an authorised TEMPUR stockist, your purchase is subject to the return and exchange policies of that retailer." An AI response?? The photo is the lumpy mesh bag insert, not the full pillow.

Worst mattress ever! Ruined my back – I tried the mattress at Harvey Normans in Bennett’s Green near Newcastle and found it so comfortable. As it was on a special offer ($6K instead of… Read more

$8.5K) I decided to take the plunge and bought it. After all, what price do you put on your health and since a good night’s sleep is so important, surely it was worth paying that price? Wrong! I actually ended up paying to ruin my back! The first few weeks were fine. But over the next few weeks I started getting pain in my lower back. It was worse in the mornings. I tried heat wraps, massage, heat rubs etc, but nothing worked. Before this, I was fit and healthy, and did yoga and gym classes regularly. My job is fairly sedentary and thought maybe my sitting posture was wrong. So I invested in an ergonomic chair, changed my routine to avoid prolonged sitting, but nothing worked. I even googled devices to alleviate back pain and invested in some back stretching and support devices. Nothing worked and my pain only got worse. I could hardly walk when I got up in the mornings. Then it clicked. As the pain was worse on waking, could it be the mattress? So I started sleeping in the spare room on a cheap mattress . Straight away I felt my back was better supported. In just one week, the pain got better, and now 3 weeks later I’m completely pain free! Tempur mattress’s are a joke! They provide no support to the body and after a while your back pays the price. People get deluded as the mattress does feel extremely comfortable at first, and probably think that the extra cost is worth it. A few minutes trial in a shop is not enough time to test it. It seems there is a reason why Tempur does not provide a in home trial over a longer period as they would probably go out if business! I don’t normally write reviews, but felt compelled to do this one as I don’t want anyone else suffering like I have. Luckily I worked it out before I permanently damaged my back.
