Inadequate product for conditions – Moved into our newly built home in December 2021. Ducted system worked ok over summer nothing special. In winter because where I live it gets super… Read more
cold often( Bathurst nsw). When outside ambient temperature gets too cold system goes into defrost mode an inbuilt function of the electric systems. so basically when I want to use my heater the most like in the morning I can't because it craps itself and says its too cold to warm up. I then have to wait until outside temperature gets high enough so it can start working again. By that time we have all left the house for work and school. Rang the local installer company that put it in and all I got was a lesson on how to use it and if it keeps not working I can book a maintenance call. Still not working and what the point of the call out when they have installed an inadequate system. A so called local and professional with over 20 years experience. I guess it is all on me for not being a professional myself and doing my research. Sad day when you can't trust a local in a small community. Absolute joke of a system that doesn't do its job.
I love this TV – I've had this for about a year now. I love this TV. The sound quality is great because the speakers are at the front (unlike almost all other TVs) so… Read more
it broadcasts to me & not my curtains/window/wall. There is no need to buy an extra sound bar. It has a middle flat stand so it can fit on a smaller table/cupboard unit. (The ones with 4 "legs" would have forced us to buy another larger one & those legs look feeble & would scratch the wood of the unit.) It's 55 inch so it's huge but never looks pixelated, etc. Colours are nice and natural too. If I ever buy another one, it'll be a clone of this :)
Hudson air conditioning Mackay and Toshiba rip off – Over 3k Lasted 12months. Fighting supplier to fix but left stranded.
Very impressed with Toshiba ducted air conditioner – In January 2024 our 12 year old Brivis gas ducted heating with refrigerated cooling add on failed . Our preferred service company Melbourne Heating… Read more
and Cooling, recommended a replacement Toshiba RAV-GM1601DTP-A whole house ducted split reverse cycle system, which could be installed without replacing all the existing ducting in the roof spaces. The installation was completed quickly and efficiently, the workers were friendly and they did their job very well. The new Toshiba RAV-GM1601DTP-A system has now been working for more than a week and we can report that this system works much better than the previous Brivis system. Air flow throughout the house is better and power consumption has decreased significantly. Previously on a 30 degree day the Brivis system would use approx. 40 KWH per day, The new Toshiba system uses only 25 KWH to do a better job. we are very happy with both the new system and the company who installed it. Thanks Toshiba Thanks Melbourne heating and Cooling
Update It is now approx.12 months since this unit was installed. We have been through a winter and summer and the unit behaves flawlessly. the power consumption is significantly less than the previous on especially during summer. Thankfully we now also have solar panels on the roof to cover power during the sunny days.
Unit is quiet, powerful and reliable – Awesome unit. It has a 7 year warranty so that is reassuring. My aircon is quiet and works great. I've had it for 8 months and couldn't live without it. I'd gladly buy Toshiba again
Strathpine Officeworks. Terrible service and misleading. I wouldn’t give them a star. I go back there to return a usb because it says 232 gig… Read more
when it’s supposed to be 256gig so I return it and they give me a replacement and the replacement that’s supposed to be 256 gig has only got 15mega bites so I return the item saying you gave me one with even less gigs and it’s not 256 gig you can’t put anything on it
Then they tried to get me to buy another one and tell me despite the faulty one they won’t replace it and apparently no usb has the full gig in them so right there that’s against consumer law: you’re supposed to get what you pay for
I’m going to get someone to look into this and on top of that they were very rude about it
Then they said we won’t replace it again and wanted me to buy a new one and i said no thanks left the store disgusted and disappointed

major short circuit in the board of the outside unit, and Toshiba wouldn't honour the warranty because we weren't the original purchaser. The local agent told us he was quitting Toshiba because their after sales left a lot to be desired.
THREE different drives caused catastrophic error, requiring recovery - FOUR times! – Avoid this if you value your data. CANVIO ADVANCED too?: This may also apply to the more expensive Canvio ADVANCED range, because when I looked up… Read more
the serial number (MQ04UBD200) of these drives via CrystalDisk Info, that is what came up. (In other words, they could be the same drive INTERNALLY despite what you think you are buying). But I know I bought the Basics model because I have the receipts for all three.
Over the last year, four times the drives became UNREADABLE. This happened on three DIFFERENT drives (one drive it happened TWICE!)
The Master File Table (MFT) became corrupted.
I had to use TESTDISK (free) to recover the MFT three times.
The other time, there wasn't even a backed up MFT and I had to recover my MOST IMPORTANT DRIVE file-by-file (using the excellent File Scavenger). It took me WEEKS to make sure I had everything and I'm still not sure.
All of these times except the latest did NOT involve a loss of power. (And that includes the worst one just mentioned).
It just suddenly gave the infamous error: ""Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to save all the data for the file X:\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.”
Next thing: the drive either disappears from Explorer completely, or when you open it, all you see is the recycle bin and none of your files are there.
I'm really disgusted about this and will never buy Toshiba again. I hope for the day a trustworthy company makes large SSDs.
First And Last – I've owned 2 Toshiba laptops in the past and thought they were rock solid. While I'd normally gravitate towards Seagate drives, I couldn't go past… Read more
these 2TB drives at under $100. They were cheaper than their Seagate competitor drives so I thought I'd give one a whirl. Plugged it in and everything seemed to be running well and as expected. However, after copying over movie files and taking them to the living room TV to plug it in, the cord accidentally fell out of my hand and the drive crashed onto the TV unit. Not a great fall by any means. I've had Seagate drives bounce off the floor numerous times and still worked. This guy on the other hand just clicked when plugged back in. Not much you can do except throw it away and get a new one. I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't even take it apart, but I'd so there's bugger all vibration cushioning in the case All up, I only had it for a week and wasn't real impressed that it couldn't take a little bump. So that will be the first and last Toshiba drive for me.
Great air conditioner – I have had my air conditioner for six months, can't fault the quality, although can be difficult changing from heat to cooling and vice versa, looks great and the promote is good

compelled to share my frustration. From day one, this unit has proven to be a colossal disappointment. The unit was making a clicking noise straight after it was installed so I reached out to the Toshiba "warranty agent" immediately. The communication has been abysmal; I've been left in the dark regarding the status and time frame of the repair. It's infuriating to think that I invested my hard-earned money in a brand that not only fails to deliver a reliable product but also cannot provide adequate customer support.
Fast forward six weeks, and the issue still persist. Not only has the warranty agent failed to rectify the problem, but they've made not one, but two futile attempts to fix the system. It's astonishing how a supposedly reputable company could provide such a lackluster product and an equally incompetent warranty service.
In conclusion, if you value your sanity and comfort, steer clear of Toshiba's split system. The unreliability of the product coupled with the utter disregard for customer service has left me regretting this purchase immensely. Save yourself the headache and opt for a brand that stands by its products and ensures a timely resolution for issues.
Toshiba 65" TV, great first impression – Only got the TV this week but first impressions are very good. TV is quick and responsive, great quality all around, no complaints so far. Hoping it works well for years to come.
Good – regarding the capacity and performance, I give it high marks. it has the eye-catching finishing, that's why I bought it. So comfortable to use. No… Read more
troubles except the battery life. very simple to handle, high performance, cute design.
Most important point is it is very user friendly. small thing about battery life.

36 Years of service and counting – We have had this 500W Toshiba Microwave in the house since 2003. At the time, it was an emergency replacement for a (grey-market) Sharp Convection… Read more
Microwave (originally bought in 1993) that sadly broke down that year. This ER-5400 Microwave was originally purchased in 1988 by a relative of ours. However, it has proved more than its worth in service, as it is still about, 21 years later (as of August 2024). While it is no longer as quiet as it (once) was, also being slightly more scratched and the screen has become a bit hazy as time has passed but considering its age, hardly a complaint there.
No idea on original price but would likely have cost around A$400 in 1988, not a small sum then.
It has solid Japanese build quality, as it was 'Made in Japan'. The relative who gave it to us at the time, saw it a decade later and remarked on how solid it still was, all these years down the track. It will be a sad day when it gives out, as it is likely to be unrepairable at this point. Toshiba likely discontinued parts for the ER-5400 back in the 1990s, so everything will certainly be NLA by now.
I am not sure what it can be replaced with, as I suspect its eventual replacement will not be anywhere near as well-built or long lasting as this Toshiba ER-5400 was, so long may it live.

whether it's going to last. the time that I am useing it should last 7 year's. The Black Is Black and white is bright picture quality seems to be right up there although it Toshiba. it's made by Hisense I'm not a lover for Hisense products. but time will tell . Toshiba used to be made in Japan but now is made in China like everything else . but do not be confused it depends on quality control . that I think like most things today they have a short life span to keep products and going.
I've gone elsewhere and never will
