Vanish

Absolute rubbish. Doesn’t work. When i have to Add Vinegar. To remove blood. Or stains. Says it all
Exactly what I needed – I moved into an old rental that needed more cleaning. Previous tenants had had a cat. And there was a smell. Probably as much ‘old weatherboard and… Read more
old carpet’ as well as cat smell. Initially I tried bicarb as it’s one of my go to’s. In the meantime I washed the walls and cupboards in borax but But the carpet still had an old smell. Anyway Preen Vanish powder was my second attempt. I used my out door broom to brush it in.
Anyway! Wow! It pulled up so much cat hair and lint and dust.
The product does have a strong ‘perfume’. I just kept windows open through the day. But it does at it says Re neutralising smells and lifting pet hair and dust etc from the carpet. My house no longer smells.
Picture below is from one of the rooms and what the preen pulled up (I had already tried bicarb and hadn’t had much luck). I don’t believe previous tenants had the floor steam cleaned despite what the realestate told me.

of the pack. 3 pieces of coloured clothing, which I used the stain remover on, have been bleached. It is clearly not colour safe. The manufacturer Recketts is arguing that the washing instructions on my clothes state no bleach, and I should have tested it beforehand. I trusted the Vanish brand and its front-of-pack claim, and clearly this was a big mistake. Since then, I have been through all my coloured clothes washing instructions, and they all say no bleach. So here is the irony. Coloured clothes manufacturers say never use Vanish, and Vanish claims safe with Colours. And when Recketts get caught out, they hide behind their back-of-the-pack details written by a lawyer to minimise risk to them. This is completely misleading advertising, and the product should state whites only, no colours. Now that I have read their website thats what this variant was designed for, WHITES , NOT COLOURS, so why confuse the consumer! I am seeking compensation for my clothes and the product cost, with fair trading and the removal of this false pack claim with ACCC. I trusted this brand and its front-of-pack claim. Reckett Benckiser have offered to refund the cost of their product, but is hiding behind their back-of-pack information, which was written to minimise risk to them. Trust broken. I expected more! No one wants a Vanish stain remover that ruins clothes. Never again Vanish, never again Recketts. I now realise I have been buying a dishwashing detergent, an insecticide, a disinfectant, and a painkiller from this company. Never again!
the new bottle spray design is awful and the waste of product with foam going everywhere – why mess around with a perfectly good product? I absolutely hate the change to the new trigger and foam spray. You cant get a small spot on a piece… Read more
of clothing with the foam spray it goes everywhere. And you can no longer change the trigger I have done this twice and both times the trigger falls off the 2nd bottle it doesn't seal properly I have ended up with preen all over my laundry floor twice. I will no longer by this product.

times. They are now tie died. Clearly a batch fault but Vanish refuse to take responsibilty and offered me a very small amount as good will gesture. I refused the amount and will NEVER buy another Vanish product as long as I live. Their customer service is DREADFUL!! I was told I should have tested the fabric before using it!! So does that mean I would just have a tie-dyed sleeve instead of all over effect? How ridiculous. LSKD shirts worn 2-3 times ruined!!
