drawer slides in and the frame sits around the seal. It broke away in a few pieces, and it actually part of the body of the air fryer, so can’t be fixed or parts replaced. We contacted Sunbeam about this, as we felt that for the actually body of the air fryer to break after just 18 months (and a cost of $350), this shouldn’t happen. You wouldn’t expect a microwave or other appliance at the same value to break at this age either. Sunbeam just came back to us and said ‘apologies but it is out of the 1 year warranty, so there isn’t anything they can do’. So disappointed as we researched a lot before choosing this one, and feel really let down by the unfixable damage and no offer of any resolution.

function ceasing to operate. Considering the price of $299, I find this to be a rather unreliable product. It only comes with 1 year warranty and can't be replaced or repaired under warranty. In contrast, our $80 Kmart air fryer, which is five years old, continues to function without issue. As a result, we will likely refrain from purchasing any further Sunbeam products.

for 4 in it too easily like most air fryers, but great for certain things for sure
Only issue i have is if you use two trays at once the top one chars and the bottom one doesnt cook through at all so heat circulation is clearly not up to scratch in air fry mode. Make sure you swap tray position mid way through to avoid this.
Very happy with my purchase after several months
Wish it was easier to get extra trays so you can cook 2 full trays or two full wire baskets etc. they do via one warehouse and they are terrible with communication if something isnt in stock

Have not used it for food preparation yet as the wife cannot tolerate the smell of the appliance. Hopefully it will go away in time.
Cake tin is small, but usable.
I bought this unit mainly for the rotating chip basket.

Better improvement then the last model – Order this 12:1 Sunbeam to replace our Multifunction oven and air fryer. The old oven was a mean machine, excellent air fryer and long lasting. That… Read more
was the main reason for me to upgrade to 12:1. We ordered through Mitch’s and Brown in Geraldton.
We worked on a minesite so the usage of the 12 and 1 is 24 hrs and with so many team members on both day and night shift, we have opportunities to fully test this oven. More often than not we don’t clean the oven, basically we just cover the bottom tray with foil and that about it. The window cleaning is easy, just a wipe with detergent.
The last three days of using the 12 and 1 appeared to be easy to clean. I did notice we need to do the preheat or prime the oven few time a before the smoke and a Lee go away. After that the was good to use. The digital readout is easy to see and navigate, I did not like turning the dial from the previous oven
The noise factor on air fryer is much quieter, and I do noticed the unit provide a much better heating. So far we only used two main function: air fryer for cooking chips and sausage rolls, and the is pizza.
The light function is definitely good and must for all mini oven. Overall it a nice compact oven and if it built like the last oven; which I already can tell it is. Then this one will last for a few years.

Exceptional value for money – I got this air fryer for my mother-in-law, and decided to test it first against mine, which isn’t Sunbeam brand, and is far more expensive. Oh boy… Read more
wasn’t I surprised… I tested both with the same dishes (whole chicken, pork belly, rissoles, bacon) at the same settings and to my surprise – you couldn’t tell a difference when they were cooked. Save yourself some $$ and don’t overpay for the appliances that will give you the same result. Do I need to mention that the viewing window is just great. And there is a light as well! Now I wish my air fryer would have these. The only downside is that the basket and window cover are not dishwasher safe (tray is). But saying that, it’s only 3 pieces that need to be washed. My other brand has 5 (much bulkier as well), which take up a whole dishwasher, and instead of being a bless, it is a hassle and water + energy waste. Insanely great air fryer!

Rate my experience with the Sunbeam AFP4570DF air fryer? Hmmm. Do I click three stars for "OK" or do I click two stars for "Bad". That's a tricky… Read more
question, because I would have clicked "Good" or "Excellent" until the unit DIED at the thirteen month mark.
I bought the Sunbeam AFP4570DF after five years of good service from a Philips XXL HD9651/91 (great for cooking, very hard to clean!). After extensive research I chose the Sunbeam AFP4570DF with its viewing window, internal light, large capacity drawer and sleek design.
So, how did the Sunbeam AFP4570DF perform in my kitchen? Pretty good overall.
The drawer was always a little problematic and not as smooth to slide in and out as you might expect.
Steak? Not as good as the Philips XXL HD9651/91, and definitely not as good as my Weber Q3200N!
Frozen chips, frozen fish etc? Awesome. Much better than the Philips.
Sourdough toast? Great. Better than any toaster.
"Stir fries"? (Place vegetables along with meat, fish or poultry into a liner together with spices and/or sauce and just let it cook). Great!
Small-medium sized roasts with veggies? Great.
Keeping food warm? Great.
Cleaning? An absolute breeze. Always washed the drawer components by hand not in the dishwasher. Always cleaned the machine with a soft cloth after use.
And then one Sunday night while roasting pumpkin, dead. D.E.A.D. Tried letting it cool down. Switched it off. Unplugged it. Moved it to another power point. Nothing. An internal fuse perhaps? Not sure. But it was dead. So disappointing!
I contacted both the retailer and Sunbeam by email. Heard nothing back from Sunbeam, but the gem of a store manager replied to my email first thing Monday morning and offered a replacement of my choice. Wow.
This time I chose a Philips Airfryer Series 5000 XXL. Paid a little more. Two year warranty instead of one. And we added a two year back up plan for just $65.
So far, so good. Wish me luck, please.

how ever was much more versatile. It has a separate container within a container and you can cheat by putting aluminium foil between the two containers so only one gets dirty. It also has a basket within the basket to raise food to cook all the way around. It heats at a more hoter, even temperature than the cheaper brand and much more elaborate selections for cooking with the option to increase or decrease temperature and time if you want. I cooked chicken fillets seasoned and sprinkle some olive oil and they came out great and I found some vegetable packs at Aldi that included their seasoning I just added some shredded carrots and sprinkle some olive oil. I have yet to cook red meat but my sister said she cooks pork chops and finds that they are much better and more moist than frying or bbq.

dramatically more entertaining. Yes, you can finally watch your fries transform without opening the basket every 30 seconds “just to check.”
The built-in viewing window and internal light mean no more heat-losing basket peeks. Just stand there like a proud parent watching nuggets grow up. Inside, the DiamondForce non-stick tray is tough, easy to clean, and seemingly immune to the usual post-dinner scrubbing rage. Sunbeam claims it’s 2x more durable than standard non-stick, and honestly, it feels like it could survive a small argument with a fork. With this design, Sunbeam clearly understands reality.
Despite its compact size, this air fryer punches above its weight. It doesn’t hog bench space, yet the 4L capacity is perfect for singles or small households who want dinner done without feeding a football team. You get 10 cooking functions: Fries, Wings, Poultry, Pork, Fish, Veggies, Bake, Dessert, Dehydrate, and Reheat. These are accessible via a clear digital touch interface that doesn’t require squinting or a user manual breakdown. Manual time and temperature control is also included, so you can tweak settings when you’re feeling confident (or rebellious). I found with some items I had, I had to either reduce the cooking time or the temp as some items came out crispier than I'd like using the presets.
Powered by 360-degree hot air flow, it delivers fast, even cooking with less oil—so you can feel slightly smug about being “health-conscious” while eating chips. It also includes the usual safety and convenience features you’d expect at this level: auto shut-off, overheat protection, and a cool-touch handle - all quietly doing their job in the background so dinner doesn’t turn into drama.
I especially went for this model because it doesn't have any plastic parts in the cooking tray (tick) and because of its glass window so I can watch my food "mature" (double tick).
-- Pros --
Super easy to use, with a digital interface that doesn’t require a manual or a deep breath
Non-stick tray is easy to clean and dishwasher safe
Viewing window is a standout feature (no more unnecessary basket opening)
Solid build quality for the price
-- Cons --
The rubber bumpers on the tray may wear out over time
Will feel small if you’re cooking for a big family or very hungry teenagers. This is meant more for solo, or solo-and-a-half, cooking.
Fingerprints will stand out on the glossy interface.
-- My verdict --
The Sunbeam Alinea Digital DiamondForce 4L Air Fryer (AFP4510BK) is a stylish, little powerhouse that seems to have a near-cult following in Australia. Especially from Myer where I got mine for less than $100 (and numerous others got theirs from the reviews). It’s ideal if you value convenience, easy cleanup, and the simple joy of watching food cook like it’s a tiny TV show. Compact, capable, and surprisingly fun - this one earns its bench space. And at the sale price-point of $100, you really can't go wrong unless you need something bigger.

dials, with a heating element topped by a fan, like most air fryers - but not much to go wrong and it works well. This is the manual model, there's another with electronic controls and viewing window. Very slight imperfections in the plastic on top were not enough to make me return it but might point to quality control issues.
Any initial concerns were soon dispelled by this thing in action. It's noticeably faster than my bigger home air fryer and does a good job of chips, sausage rolls and other frozen food, as well as roast vegies and chicken wings. There's no cookbook and you need to experiment with temp/time settings. On 200 degrees, it's spends a lot of time grilling rather than roasting, which works well for some things, but you need to watch for charring. In general, 180 is better.
At 270h x 240w x 320deep including basket handle and cable storage (my measurements not theirs), it has a small benchtop footprint and fits in my smaller caravan cupboard. Great for the price I paid, maybe not RRP.

the coating will not peel or flake. Unfortunately, it did start to flake after roughly 10 uses. I’m quite particular about using kitchen appliances, following what’s in the manual etc and I have not used any metal utensils but still, the coating started to come off. On calling Sunbeam, they offered to replace the basket of which I don’t see the point. I don’t really think this would be a one time thing so I will be returning to Target, where I purchased it, in October 2022. Other than that, it did a good job, and I enjoyed using it. Easy enough to clean, easy to use. It took forever to get rid of the ‘new appliance smell’, but I guess that happens with a lot of these things. Apart from the faulty basket, I suppose it’s good value for money. For these reasons, giving it three stars because I know there are people out there who are not as fussy as I am about flaking coatings, and the willingness of Sunbeam to replace the basket deserves a bit of credit. On a side note: I think a square or rectangular basket is more economical than a round one.
