My 1976 Sunbeam deep fryer died just recently. Has been used at least weekly since then, so great value. I purchased the DF4500 as a replacement and have been very pleased with its performance. Show details

The coating – Although well made ,the non stick coating does not last ...and then the product becomes largely useless. Sunbeam .....please update this product with a proper coating that will last . otherwise it doesn't stack up. Show details

Absolute waste of money. After 6 months the thing stopped heating and broke down. Hugely disappointing as is a very expensive item. Show details

Love it. Mainly use it between min and medium setting. Maintains steady temp with thermostat. Light turns on when heating and turns off when temp reached. Wipe it out with a paper towel for the next use Show details

Not cooking on highest setting – Up until last night I was very impressed. However, I was in the middle of cooking a meal and noticed that the meal of stir fry veg and chicken was… Read more

not cooking....just sitting there. It had been working ok on the medium setting and then nothing. I turned up to highest setting still nothing. The light was on constantly but the food was no longer cooking. I said to my hubby a retired electrician "would it be anything to do with the fact it is 5 pm and others cooking evening meal?" He said it could be but I do not know. In the end of just looking at the food just sitting there I turned it off and finished the meal on my induction cooktop. No problems with heat there. I only purchased this skillet on 3rd of May. rehandra just now

I have another question about my new Skillet. The thermostat probe seems to come out "too" easily. I do not even have to use the trigger thingie on the side. I am bit concerned there is a problem with it.

Scary – I didn't even get to use it! Plugged it in for the very first time, and it blew the switch. I had to go to my meterbox to flick it back on. Now too scared to use it.

there and it just wipes out with a paper towel. Be careful not to use steel utensils though because it does scratch the coating. Wooden or plastic spoons are fine. You never need to use anything abrasive to clean it. Dishwasher safe as the bottom detaches. I use it as a steamer as well.

Very disappointing – I have had the same issues as most other people. This frypan looks disgusting after one use. The black burn ring is impossible to remove. The cream coloured coating has been come off around the rim where the lid makes contact. Show details

same issue despite us only using silicone utensils and washing all items as recommended. Very frustrating. The temperature control is erratic and temperamental. And most recently one of the handles completely snapped off. I don’t want to buy a new pan yet as the thing still cooks, but buying a replacement handle seems to be tricky/not accessible. This is our second sunbeam frying pan and we have been disappointed with both, unfortunately. I don’t recall when exactly we bought our current one but it is no more than 18months old. Gone are the days when products were actually reliable.
