drawer beneath - despite plenty of air flow inside the joinery below. Both our electrician and joiner have not heard of this requirement. F&P’s own Technician said they are seeing a lot of this and company making a stand as it’s costing them a lot of money. Charging $1200 to repair - despite not knowing the actual issue. Inferior product so we will replace with a different local brand with better customer care. F&P were bought out a few years ago - not the company they used to be.

see that it didn't work properly(yes one plate boils water) and then he sent us a text message with some techno babble saying that we needed cast iron cookware. We have Swisse-tech pro and Baccarat (both of which worked at our last home and were $100 a pot) We actually paid extra to have an induction cooktop in our new McDonald Jones Home and four months later we have no cooktop in a brand new kitchen. None of our family or friends can believe this!
Fisher & Paykel 90cm Gas on Glass Cooktop
Avoid at All Costs! Terrible Quality and Nonexistent Customer Support – I cannot emphasise enough how disappointed and frustrated I am with the Fisher and Paykel glass cooktop that was installed in our brand-new house.… Read more
This supposed "cooktop" turned out to be an absolute disaster just after using it twice! Imagine my shock when, while simply wiping it clean, the entire corner of the glass cooktop cracked. Let me be crystal clear: there was absolutely no impact or accidental damage involved – the only items that ever touched this cooktop were regular cooking pots placed on the burners for their intended purpose.
One would assume that a cooktop, which is explicitly designed and marketed for cooking, would possess a level of durability that matches its intended function. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Fisher and Paykel's product. It seems they've managed to create a glass cooktop that is as fragile as a soap bubble, unable to withstand the very cooking activities it's designed for. What a ridiculous contradiction!
Hoping for some redemption, I decided to reach out to Fisher and Paykel's customer service, hoping they would stand behind their product's quality and address this glaring issue. What a mistake that turned out to be. I sent them clear photographic evidence of the damage, only to receive a response that left me baffled and infuriated. They had the audacity to claim that this damage was due to "impact" and thus not covered under warranty. How convenient for them to label it as such and absolve themselves of any responsibility for their shoddy craftsmanship!
But here's the real kicker – after delving into numerous online reviews, it became evident that my experience was far from isolated. Countless other customers have faced the exact same issue: a fragile glass cooktop that spontaneously decides to crack under normal cooking conditions. And guess what? Fisher and Paykel consistently wash their hands of these problems, refusing to acknowledge the widespread quality issues plaguing their products.
To add insult to injury, Fisher and Paykel's customer service is nothing short of abysmal. They seem to have mastered the art of ignoring their customers' complaints and concerns, blatantly shirking their responsibility to stand by their products and address genuine issues. I can honestly say that in all my years as a consumer, I have never encountered such abhorrent customer service.
In conclusion, if you value your hard-earned money and sanity, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Fisher and Paykel's glass cooktops. The poor quality and lack of accountability they demonstrate is a disservice to anyone seeking a reliable and functional kitchen appliance. I deeply regret trusting this brand and will never make the mistake of doing so again. Save yourself the headache and disappointment – invest in a reputable brand that actually cares about the quality and performance of their products.

it's supposed to do with ease. I would highly recommend it. We also have an underbench oven to match. Both are very stylish.
Impressed – Installed for over a week. Impressed how quickly my stovetop coffee pot boils. I’m loving using my new appliance. Would have loved the option of joining two sections together for larger pots. Show details

and described.
The root cause of the plastic knob fixture (noting the top of the dial assembly is metal) failure is due to its integration or connection with the metal post attached to the cooktop which controls the gas. Fisher and Paykel have mistakenly reversed/flipped the 'D' shaped metal post during installation. It should be rotated 180 degrees so that the dial fixtures can properly align and fit the metal post controlling the flow of gas correctly. I have taken apart the dial assembly, removing the metal dial from the plastic fixture, in an attempt to rotate the metal dial to be in the correct orientation (12pm or OFF position), but the plastic fixture itself features two plastic notches which prevent alteration of orientation; in other words, there is only one single position/orientation to the dial assembly and the only way to resolve this issue is to flip/rotate the metal post itself.
We have been using this particular cooktop since installation in March 2021 and the continual dial failure is indicative of design flaws and shortfalls with putting out a proper product in the market.
The only saving grace, fortunately Fisher & Paykel spare parts and service team are actually pleasant to deal with and are quite responsive. The warranty on all parts is 12 months! So we replaced the dials over 24 months since installation, but the replacement dials have very quickly failed (in 4 months).
We also own Fisher and Paykel branded oven, rangehood and dishwasher in our home. and whilst they have had separate issues (just as annoying as this dial assembly issue!) we have found repairs and replacement of parts to be swift and without trouble (they directly employ service technicians in Sydney for repairs).
All in all, will be avoiding the purchase of Fisher & Paykel in any future kitchen rennovations in the future. Quality is very poor and cheap despite service being above average!

cookware. They are even aware of this saying 'not all induction cookware works with our cooktops' ! Plain facts are, it does not cook food properly. Food on inside of pan burns and outside remains raw, so you constantly are moving food around to get it cooked. What a disgrace. Contacted them many many times and they refuse to budge, saying it works as directed. So now it's a matter for VCAT. So my advice, do not buy any F&P products, they are sub par, and provide zero support if you have any problems. They sent out a technician, who has never cooked on or used any induction cookware, yet could say it was working properly! I am angry and disgusted in wasting good money on this utter useless product.

stovetop down when shards of glass started coming away from the bottom left third section, diagonal to the bottom left burner. The stovetop is within the two-year service warranty. When I phoned Customer Care someone it will be covered by warranty and replaced. When I went to book a technician, another customer care staffer asked for photos and more information. They came back with (surprise, surprise) “Our technical team has reviewed the images and advised that the breakage is not due to a manufacturing fault in the appliance”. Apparently kitchen stovetops aren’t supposed to last more than 11 months brand new. Appalling customer service, in fact a complete lack of customer service. I am left with no other avenues to take my issue and subsequent compliant further within the company. I searched online to see if other customers had similar issues and there are numerous complaints, with images of issues in the exact spot as mine. Avoid this product at all costs. F&P Case #07758516

biggest selling point. It gives our new kitchen a more premium feel. The burners are set on the outside thirds of the cooktop which is part of the look of the stove, with the cast iron grates reflecting this. It took a lot of practise to get pots & pans centred over the burner. The shape of the grates make it hard to find the centre. The burners light easily, but as safety feature you have to hold the igniter down for longer than feels natural. So you often release the igniter before the burner is ready to stay lit. Biggest issue with stove is even at the lowest setting the burners are very hot. And by about halfway through the span of the dial it is at full power. If you are not paying full attention it is very easy to have the flame much higher than you expect. The gas knobs feel great to use though, they have nice weight to their movement and very smooth. Overall I'm happy with the stove, if I was buying again I would probably look at less expensive stove. It looks great but from a functional point of view doesn't do anything different or better than a cheaper model.
