customer service who wasted another week fluffing around telling me to check if I’ve plugged it in & turned it on, you all know the score with the runaround! I finally got a phone number & rang. First question was do you have 5G? Yes I said. I am then informed that it won’t work on the 5G network. Told me to contact service provider to change my service to a mix of 5G & a 2.4G. Are they joking?? We don’t even have 3G anymore. I have no idea if this machine is good or bad as I cannot get it to function. It needs wifi to be shown its route it will take after the initial use. This revue is for the company and there handling of my problem. I can’t have a refund because it is not a quality issue.

worked well for the first 5 months and then stopped returning to station. After several emails back and forth I was advised to return the product for repair. This process took several weeks with no communication as to what was fixed. After using the product two times, it started leaking water from the station. I was advised again to return the product for repair. I requested a refund and this was denied. I requested a new product, this was also denied. It seems the expectation is send to the product back and forth via post for repair each time it breaks during the 2 year warranty period. This is a cumbersome and time consuming process as the product is heavy and difficult to pack.

it seemed the ideal time to make the jump.
Unpacking and physically setting up the vacuum presented no particular problems ...except for the supplied instructions. The expectation appears to be centred around you downloading the Ecovacs app onto a phone and following the instructions there. There is a “leaflet” rather than a manual supplied in the box, but it can be confusing as it appears to cover a few different models and it is never clear that a feature it references is for your model or another. I had at least two features mentioned that I believe mine had but after a few weeks of not being able to find them, I discovered with an internet search they were for a different model. This included the “follow on after interruption” and “vibrating mop” features (more of this later).
After assembly, the first job is to allow the vacuum to map the whole house. It is recommended that “unnecessary” items cluttering the floor (dog toys, stool legs etc) be temporarily removed while this is carried out. Initially, I was very pleased with the speed this was being carried out at and it was interesting to see the map forming in realtime on my phone app. However, I soon realised that it was also “looking” through our glass-sliding doors and mapping exterior elements like parts of the backyard and tiled pergola area. Upon realising this, I had to pull down all blinds and restart the mapping. Fortunately mapping our single storey house only took around 20 – 25 minutes.
Vacuuming - The vacuum process is operated from the phone app or from linking to Alexa/Google. I only have Alexa units and while I had no issue linking my old robot cleaner, I kept encountering a weird error message with the N20 Plus where it said it couldn’t find the robot, despite identifying its correct brand and model number on the screen. Annoying too, was the lack of customer response as two requests for assistance went unanswered. Performance wise, the app has three settings for suction power; Standard, Strong and Max. These can be adjusted while the robot is in the process of cleaning. You can also designate one or two passes to clean. It seemed to work very well on the hard floors and about as good as I would expect it to on carpet. That is, not as good as a designated hand held vacuum but suitable for daily maintenance. The only issue being that if it encounters a problem that causes it to pause, once you correct the issue, 99% of the time it will then announce it has finished and is returning to base. Additionally, lifting the robot even slightly off the floor not only produces a somewhat humorous voice response of “Off the floor. Please put me back” but it also seems to lose track of where it is. It will then roam around aimlessly, bumping into surrounding objects before announcing that it is lost and requesting you place it back on the base station. A typical example of this is we have a small coffee table with legs splayed at around 45 degrees. It will often attempt to climb a leg and in doing so lift itself off the floor resulting in it calling for help. After correcting this it very rarely wants to continue but rather will announce it is finished and try to return home. Again, this is a feature listed in the instructions but only after researching further do you find it relates to a different model. While vacuuming, you can track its progress in real time in the app where it will show a mop of the cleaning area, the current position of the robot and a “snail trail” showing exactly where it has already cleaned.
Mopping - The mopping pad must be manually added to the unit to commence the vacuuming/mopping process. It will announce this is done and will also remind you to remove the mop at the end of cleaning. While the mop is attached it will not cross over onto carpet and my experience with this indicates it has been excellent at avoiding the carpet with a wet mop. Cleaning solution must be added to the onboard tank before starting. You can add a purchased solution but I find it generally does just as well with water only. Don’t expect the mop to clean a dirty floor. Run this once or twice a week and it seems to do a good job at maintaining an already somewhat clean floor. On the app, you can adjust the water flow rate to either Low, Medium and High. To get adequate cleaning, I leave it on High but be aware there is no alarm or similar to indicate if the tank becomes empty. This is where I noticed the second “feature” difference as the instructions keep referring to the mop “vibrating”. I was finally able to ascertain that this too is a feature of another model. On this one, the mop simply drags behind the unit. I would recommend you dampen the mop before starting. Otherwise you will start off with a dry mop and it takes about 3 metres or so before cleaning solution starts to feed through. The mop is velcroed to the mounting plate and is easily washed in a washing machine every so often.
The Base Station - There is a bagless collection on the Base Station that needs to be periodically emptied. We run the robot most days and find it needs empting every two weeks ...although we do have a golden retriever which is very generous at shedding hair. Have had no issues with the vacuum returning to base, reversing in, empting its bin and recharging ...except for when it is interrupted as I said before. Spare parts are reasonably priced and cheaper knock offs are available from 3rd party sellers. Ecovacs “gamifies” adjusting settings in the app by awarding you points for doing certain things. Once accumulated, these points can then be used to receive discounts on maintenance parts. Warranty is two years and I have had no issue in the one year I have owned it ...apart from the side brush dislodging occasionally because it pushes on rather than screws on. Regular maintenance should include removing the internal bin and cleaning the filter. I find once a week works well as it doesn’t take long to do this and also check no cotton/hair tangles around the main brush. Just be aware, when you turn it upside down it has a large flat cover plate on top that is only held in place by gravity. Scheduled cleaning times can be set in the app.
Overall - It generally does the job for what we want and the price we paid. If we had bought it at RRP we would be expecting more. At close to half RRP we are prepared to forgive it somewhat. If you are just looking for a solid robot vacuum that does the basics, with some mopping ability and it’s on special, I’d recommend giving it a good look.
What I liked - * No fuss operation with a well set out app that shows realtime updates on cleaning progress along with keeping track on when various parts need to be cleaned or replaced * Found the battery run time noticeably superior to my previous cleaner and have never had it run out of power when doing a job * Price was good for what it does
What I didn’t like - * Lack of customer support * Poorly detailed instructions where many features relate to different models but this is not made clear. Even the app will come up with occasional hints but then you find its for a different model * Too easily gets lost if it has an “interruption”

work and everything else going on, I don’t always have the time or energy to stay on top of cleaning, so having this has been a huge help.
One of my favourite features is the self-washing mopping system. It cleans the mop as it goes with fresh water, so you’re not just spreading dirt around, and the floors dry quickly afterwards which is really convenient. The suction power on the vacuum is also great it easily picks up dust, crumbs, and hair without needing to go over the same spot multiple times.
I’ve also been really impressed with the ZeroTangle feature. Hair doesn’t get wrapped around the brush, which means I don’t have to constantly stop and clean it out. On top of that, the navigation is super smart. It moves smoothly around furniture, gets right up to edges, and avoids obstacles without bumping into things or getting stuck.
The OMNI Station is what really makes it feel hands-free. It automatically empties the dustbin, washes and dries the mop, and refills the water, which saves so much time and effort.
Honestly, one of the best parts is how it makes me feel day-to-day. When I’m working from home, it’s so satisfying just watching it clean the floors on its own. And even when I go out, it’s such a good feeling coming home at the end of the day to a completely clean space without having to do anything.
Overall, I really enjoy using it and it’s been such a time-saver. It fits perfectly into a busy routine and takes a lot of the stress out of keeping the house clean.

mapping kept getting screwed up and so the device was always getting "lost", then the device stopped emptying its dust bin properly, then mopping started to get worse.
Numerous emails back and forth with support but nothing was ever easy ... forever having to confirm this, try that, try this, confirm that ... until eventually they agreed for the unit to be sent back. They apparently replaced the main board and when unit returned it was great ... for literally a week. EXACTLY the same problems started to appear and we then had to go through the same inane processes of trying this (again), confirming that (again) before FINALLY they asked for both the unit and the base to be returned to them.
Base station was returned to us a week or so later saying it had been "repaired" but with no details of what the problem was or what repairs were supposedly done. Came back but without the water tray so could not be used until I obtained another one too.
Robot unit apparently went missing for a while but was finally received, allegedly underwent testing and was eventually proven to be a dud. Even though it was still well under warranty they refused to replace with new or refund (as I believe are my rights under ACL) but would only provide a refurb unit instead. After arguing with them for a while and even me offering to pay difference to get upgraded unit (X5 was available by then) we ended up agreeing just to get the issue resolved.
Unit came back and worked almost flawlessly for a month or two and then started to play up again with its erroneous mapping and app issues, poor mopping and continually losing its way. At least this time it was emptying the dust bin properly tho.
Contacted them ... again ... and was expected to go thru the same extended, inane back and forth before they would actually do anything so we bit the bullet and just kept using it as-is. Final straw came when the unit started experiencing continual driving wheel errors and then an inability for it to re-seat itself in the dock to empty, clean and charge. Have reluctantly decided to donate the unit to the tip and go buy a Dreame or Roborock.

basic about it, far from it!
It can sweep, tiled areas, carpeted areas all at once, or change the mode and sweep and mop your tiled areas at the same time, with very good results given its cost, photos attached of mopping, front of fridge!
It may not get all the really hard dried stains out, however it does a really good job, and it can flick hard debris on the tiles out of its way, however it goes back and forth and usually picks them up!
It’s supposed to be a labour saving device, however not so at the moment, novelty factor as we spend so much time following it around, as does our little doggie!
I would not hesitate to say if you can get one do so, there are more expensive models out there check them out!
Sales are still on, you could snag a real bargain, and why not it’s Christmas :)
Area: Tiles and Carpeted, for sweeping up: 67sqm
Area: Tiles only, for Mopping up: 58sqm
They are a wonder to watch going about their business!
P.S. The app is rubbish, unless they have fixed it, it’s not worth the bother!

that time. After researching many other brands and reading reviews I thought I would give Ecovacs another go as to be blunt I couldn't find a brand /model that sounded any better! I used this N10 for approx 3-4 weeks whilst I was investigating the merit and cost of repairing my Ecovacs 950 which stopped working properly. I found that the new N10 machine was not as good at cleaning than my old machine so despite the cost of repair went ahead and fixed my old machine. I therefore put my new machine away and returned to using the old machine and kept the N10 as a spare. Well, approx 1.5 yrs later (Approx 5-6 months out of warranty), we purchased an apartment so I now need my N10 to use when we stay at our apartment. On setting the N10 up, I discover to my dismay and anger that this machine can no longer dock itself. I tried all the usual things to fix (as I have been on this merry go round lots of times with my previous machine). Finally had to chat with a Ecovacs consultant who continued to tell me to do all the things I had already tried, which I did to no avail. I initially thought maybe it was the dock itself but after swapping with my other dock found it seems to be the machine itself. After confirming with the consultant that despite the machine only having been used for 3-4 wks max since it's purchase, they would not cover under warranty. I can only say that for a machine retailing for around $900 at the time, it is disgusting that it is not functioning as it should after 3-4 wks total usage. I do not recommend anyone buy any Ecovacs as my experience with both my old machine and this one has not been good. The only good thing I can say about my old 950 model is that it is great at cleaning (not floor washing though) and has a longer battery time than the newer models, which is why I have kept spending the money on repairing it.
Update 21/7/25 Since this review Ecovacs offered me a return label which would allow me to get a refund upon returning the item. As it so happened, whilst waiting for the return label, the robot starting working again, so I am now continuing to use the vacuum to see how it goes for the next month but if it happens again I will return it. For this reason I have modified my review from 1 star to 3 stars. It is a pity that they only agreed to do this after I gave them a 1 star review.
