After making two purchases back in 2021, I recently discovered I had been charged $59.95 annually for a “membership” I was completely unaware of. These charges continued for several years without my knowledge.

I searched thoroughly through my emails (including spam and archived folders) and could not locate any membership confirmation, renewal notice, or receipt relating to these charges.

When I raised this with the business, it took over two weeks and extensive back-and-forth communication to have most of the charges refunded. The process was time-consuming and stressful, and required persistence on my part to resolve.

While the majority of the money was eventually returned, there was no acknowledgement or apology for the inconvenience caused.

I would recommend anyone who has purchased from this business to review their accounts carefully and ensure they are aware of any ongoing subscriptions.

This experience has left me very disappointed.

When we followed up with their team regarding this issue, we were simply informed that a mistake had been made. We are truly disappointed with the level of service provided, as one of the key reasons we selected this company for our Christmas hampers was their ability to supply custom-printed boxes.

contacted austral herbs and they told me their batch of cumin is fine and they refused to refund me my money. They had zero care about the fact that I paid for a product that I cannot use. They were happy to rip me right off. I lodged a complaint with the department of fair trading and informed Austral herbs of the complaint. They then issued the refund the next day. Do not purchase from Austral herbs unless you are willing to contact the department of fair trading if you receive a rancid off product. Otherwise you will not get your money back. Extremely stingy unethical business.

disappointing. The chicken satay entrée was cold, and the roti was cold and hard. The Panang curry was made with chicken thigh rather than breast, which wasn’t mentioned and added to the poor overall experience.

What made it worse was the response when I raised this politely at the time — staff were dismissive and tried to deny there was a problem instead of listening or offering a solution. No accountability and no care for the customer. Based on both the food and how the complaint was handled, I won’t be returning.

We had sides of potato with like a nori mayo (so bloody AMAZING!!), broccoli which had this (wow!!) sesame dressing, pickled cucumbers, and a butter leaf lettuce. Who orders salad right? Booking Experience

I first tried to book online and was told there was no availability. I then called and spoke to an AI agent who again said there were no tables. It took five minutes of repeating myself before I was finally transferred to someone at the restaurant — who told me there was no need to book and to simply walk in at 1pm on a Friday. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost full, and we were lucky to get a table for four.

Service

This is where things really fell apart.

• We asked if we could order drinks at the table — no, we were told to order at the counter. • We asked three times for water before it finally arrived. • We asked for ice separately and had to follow up again. • The whole service style felt more like a takeaway shop than a restaurant that positions itself as premium dining.

Food

This was the biggest disappointment.

• The Caesar salad had no Caesar dressing available. • The “angry” focaccia had no chilli and no heat at all. When we asked for fresh chilli, we were told they didn’t have any — only chilli flakes. • The focaccia was overloaded with harsh garlic that is still repeating hours later. • The pizza was undercooked. • From our table we could see flies landing on food waiting to be served, which is simply unacceptable.

Overall

What makes this so frustrating is that Basil & Vine used to be fantastic. The Facebook photos still look incredible, and we’ve had great meals and great service here before. Today felt like a completely different restaurant. Has there been a change in management? Staff? Systems?

Whatever has changed, it needs attention. This area desperately needs good restaurants with good service — and Basil & Vine has always been one of the few. Today’s experience was unacceptable for a venue of this standard.

I hope things improve, because we genuinely want to keep supporting local businesses that get it right.

Presentation was excellent and you could not help but feel you were a welcome guest. The food did not disappoint. Each person at our table (4) were very happy with their meal. The taste was really nice, as good as the original Singapore produced. It looks very hygienic too as each individual bakwa was wrapped and vaccumed very well. However, when I keep it for a bit over a month, on top of the jerky (inside the plastic) appears white stuff sticking to the meat, despite it has been vacuumed packed. The most probable reason is the way it was produced was not hygienic, that the jerky was contaminated with fungal spores in the air before they are being vaccumed packed. Please look after your QC Bakwa King, or you will lose your business.

When I explained that I prefer a plate because the rice would fall out of the tiny bowls, the server said sorry No. Their plates are only used for serving dishes. Then she walked away. In the end I moved the some of the entrees in one plate and used that for my daughter. I was extremely disappointed in the server who lacked any basic understanding to a simple customer request. I was polite when I asked and was genuinely shocked with the response. I was asking for a plate while dining in a restaurant!

There is a Woolworths just next door so I can't understand running out of Vegas. Pork marsala. Three tiny pieces of meat, again no vegetables. The tiniest serve of lasagne which was just mince and sauce,no layers. Very poor food. Not recommended at all.
