buzzer duration. Recently had to replace our dryer. I would have bought a Miele but I wasn't going to risk having 2 machines that buzz continuously. So Miele, you lost a sale due to this absolutely ridiculous feature. I expected better.

Terrible. Incredibly inflexible and not user friendly. Without doubt the worst appliance that I own. You cannot choose to change the spin speed. If you select the wrong cycle you need to unplug the machine and wait for it to forget what you told it! Show details

Five years ago, I purchased a Miele washing machine and dryer through Harvey Norman. Given Miele’s reputation as a premium and expensive brand, I… Read more
chose these appliances believing I was investing in products that would provide many years of reliable service. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. I have experienced several relatively minor electronic problems with both appliances. More significantly, the dryer developed a fault shortly after the warranty expired, and the problem could not be repaired. The machine was replaced. I was extremely lucky and grateful that an excellent Miele technician (Independent) – arranged for the machine to be replaced, and that Miele agreed to do so even though it was slightly outside the warranty period. Now, unfortunately, I am experiencing another serious problem. The washing machine will not turn off. Once the cycle has finished, I switch the machine off, but it immediately turns itself back on again, with the lights illuminated. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the cost of obtaining service. calling a Miele technician to attend is extremely expensive. For a premium appliance that has already experienced several electronic problems, I find these service costs very difficult to justify and, frankly, excessive. I purchased Miele because I believed I was paying for superior quality, reliability and longevity. Instead, after only five years, I have experienced repeated electronic issues and now face another potentially costly repair. This is particularly disappointing when other, considerably less expensive brands I have owned in the past, such as Fisher & Paykel, provided many years of reliable service. At this stage, I feel that the premium price I paid for these appliances has not been reflected in their reliability or in the overall ownership experience.

part of the drum (this never happened with my Samsung). Before the 1st year there was an issue and I contacted customer service (that they are supposed to be excellent at) the next appointment available was two weeks away. The machine was under warranty still but there could have been extra charges. I resolved the issue and was able to cancel the appointment. The washing programs are extremely long. Or way too short. The wifi setting was supposed to offer additional programs - but that hasn’t been the case. I had a Miele dryer and loved it so thought the washing machine was going to be the same but I was sadly disappointed.

The machine itself washes really well; it's the drying that's the problem. If you're a single person like myself, and try to do a wash/drying cycle,… Read more
the machine won't accept small loads, and clothes come out very damp. It comes up with an error code - too small load. This is my week's worth of laundry. I've tried many different cycles / settings, even had a Miele technician come to check it. My clothes aren't heavy or voluminous enough to trigger the sensors on the door apparently. Miele advertise this machine as great for daily use. Considering that its an 8 kg washing machine but can only dry 4 kg (so if you're doing a large load, you have to halve your load to dry it) - it seems odd it can't do my 3 kg of drying after washing it. This was a big expense and now I have to buy a separate dryer. Very unhappy. UPDATE: After discussions with Miele and using the Delicates (1 kg max) or Woollen (2 kg max) Cycle for drying for my small loads as a single person; or using the Warm Air cycle - none gave me anything but damp clothes after the wash. I weighed and tried a 1 kg load and a 2 kg load with no success. Even adding towels into the load to bulk up the volume made no difference. It's been a waste of my time and money. As a disabled person who saw this as a terrific help, it's been nothing but a hindrance. This machine should be sold as family-sized only load washing machine (and remember it's an 8 kg wash and 4 kg dry machine, so if you wash large loads, you'll have to do separate cycles to cut the load in half for drying; or just do 4 kg loads.
UPDATE: I tried Miele's suggestion of different programs like Delicates which 'take' a lower weight… Read more

machine won’t drain. We have followed all the instructions regarding cleaning filters and checking the hose and our plumbing for possible blockages. Everything checked out ok so we booked a warranty service call, the earliest date confirmed is 27 July 2026. No one at Miele Experience Centre told us we would have to either buy an additional 3 weeks of clothes, continue wearing dirty clothes or go to a Laundromat (ugh!) after 1 month. Miele need to be more responsive to service issues or risk losing loyal customers.
**UPDATE- Miele responded promptly to the review and after discussing the issue offered to swap our faulty machine over for a new machine. This was a much faster response than their standard service. The new machine was delivered and installed 14 July 2026. The only negative I can see in dealing with Miele is that you have to resort to writing reviews to get a more reasonable outcome.

$200 call out fee just tell me what I already knew - I didn’t bother with that. Just threw it away. Never again with Miele - NOTHING from them. Paying a premium for the privilege of nothing. Bought a Bosch Serie 8 for less money and more weight handling. Made in Germany and so much quieter.

I have owned this machine for approximately three months and as I write this I am waiting for a technician to come out to fix it - the second time I… Read more
have had the technician out. In terms of waiting they are not coming today - initially it was going to be ten days but I am rearranging my life so I can accomodate the needs of my washing machine and now I only have to wait three days. I need to do three loads per day to keep on top of my washing ... so it is a nightmare. The first time a technician came out was for the dryer, also bought three months ago, because I misunderstood the line drawings in the operation manual - you know those little books that come with appliances that you shove in a drawer and never look at again? Oh no, with these machines you will be referring to them on a weekly (initially daily) basis, so make sure you put them somewhere handy. The dryer was telling me I had to clean my filters - there are three and two of them (in the door) have to be cleaned every time you use the dryer. The third one needs to be done on a two to three weekly basis. It has a handle on it and I had turned the filter around so I was looking at the inner face of the filter, which was clean. But it was the outer face of the filter that needed cleaning. The dust was so perfectly spread out I couldn't tell it was dust! I don't know what is wrong with my washing machine but I know I have turned it off mid cycle a few times, because it does not have a pause button, and when I do that it does not behave the way the manual says it will. It does not pump away the water, but later, when a new cycle is chosen, the machine freaks out, flashes a number of problem codes on its screen, pumps away the water and then stops. You have to turn it off and select your cycle again. Anyway, despite reading my manuals thoroughly, it was only when the technician came to fix my dryer that I found out how to use my washing machine. I don't use the twin dos system because it involves bleach. Bleach is not cruelty free, it is also really bad for the environment (something the game of star appliance accreditation doesn't take into account!). And it is unlikely the other liquids Miele provide are good for you, animals or the environment because the only thing I can find out about them on the packet is that I should not get the liquid on my skin. Really? What does Miele think I do with my clothes? Anyway, when the first technician arrived I told him I hated my washing machine and it was not cleaning my clothes. He first tried to persuade me into just using the steam cycle, because apparently I don't know when my clothes need washing. He then advised me I was using too much washing powder for the machine. Because it is a 4.5 star rated machine, it uses too little water to rinse the soap out of my clothes if I use the amount advised on the back of the soap packet. The soap stays in the clothes along with the dirt. I have to use half as much soap if I want this machine to rinse my clothes adequately. For most of our clothes this seems to work now, but my partner's older business shirts have to go through the machine twice. Using the cotton cycle makes that six hours of washing ... how they got 4.5 stars for this machine I have no idea ... it seems they just look at water usage, because when a machine uses electricity for three hours per cycle, that can't be good for the environment. So If you are looking at Miele, and like me, think that you might be buying a good quality machine because you may get a ten year warranty on it (we got this as a special offer), think again. Miele has changed its game. It does not offer ten years warranty as a standard offer, and when you call up to get a service technician out, they make you listen to (I actually had to put the phone down and walk away because I was so angry), a disclaimer that they will charge you for a call out if it is "user error." It won't be user error; there are numerous design flaws both in the machines and in the instruction manuals. And Miele can't make up its own warranty game, Australian laws protect consumers, but it is pursuing your legal rights that is expensive. You can complain to the ACCC and if you encounter people who try to deny you your legal rights, definitely do place a complaint there, but they won't resolve individual issues. You have to go to VCAT for that. I am pretty sure I have a date with Miele at VCAT some time in the future, and I seriously DO NOT recommend these machines, in particular the TWIN DOS washing machine. This is a GAME that appliance manufacturers have invented because consumers care about the environment - the meaningless star accreditation - but they all then go on to manufacture increasingly limited life span appliances. Yes, Miele is in on this game too now. So don't reward them, don't buy their machines. And the space age features (such as twin dos) Miele has built into their machines to justify their prestige price, don't get fooled by those things either. They are nonsense. I am so so sad I gave up my lovely Electrolux $700 washing machine which gave me absolutely no problem for seven years :(, I stupidly thought if I got the matching washing machine and dryer they would work better.
