The wash appears to be over but door is still locked. The power supply is ok as I checked it out with the dryer. I can't turn it back on with the on/off button. Is there another way of opening the door?

Is there a delayed start on the AEG LF8594080 front loading washing machine?

sioseeker

Excellent question. The washer and dryer kinda do this but in a weird way. You can select the delay for the FINISH time up to 24 hours. Great machines. Incredibly quiet. We are really happy.

I purchased the 8000 series lavamat front loader and each time I wash towels they come out with specs of mould and gunk. I was told that I overload the machine. How can that be when I’m washing 2 bath towels and 2 standard towels??? Then when the rep came out, advised I use too much soap and that the water in Australia is too fine for these washing machines! How can 1/2 cup liquid soap be too much? Then I’m told from the rep that I must wash with hot water and not cold? Then I’m told to clean my machine out at least once every 3-4 weeks, and when I do that I seal if full of gunk and mucous and I need to use a sponge to take it all out! Also number of times when I’ve done a cotton wash it hasn’t completed the spin so I’ve pulled the towels out and they are sipping wet! I’m so disappointed with this machine, somethings not right. I’ve never been so disappointed..my previous AEG which I had for 15 years never needed to be cleaned out and washed perfectly! I wish I could get it replaced but every time the rep has a new story!

Purchased both the 10kg & 8Kg 8000 series washer and dryer less than 2 weeks ago and am already regretting it. During operation they are both quite loud machines, with the washing machine in particular driving me crazy with a constant humming/low range buzzing sound throughout the cycle which I gather is the motor and water pump. Is this typical of the machine?

Also, the washing machine door has, just this morning 8/7/2023, developed a 'knocking' sound when in motion to be either opened or closed. ( as it's being swung, not the clicking sound of the latch when opening or closing). I gather it has something to do with the bolts internally.

The dryer seems to be operating 'ok' from what I can tell at the moment, but upon inspection of the heat exchanger/bottom filter metal fins, there are several that are misaligned and leaning on each other, creating small 'holes' in the grid, and by all accounts it's not good for optimal operation of airflow if the fins are touching one another...

Could anyone enlighten me on these issues?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there we have an AEG LF8C1612A, the rubber seal has been Moullet for years and we need to change it or get another machine. Not sure if it’s worth replacing and investing money when it’s likely to happen quite quickly again? Wondering if there an issue with the design of the rubber given the messages I’ve read below?

Maddy F.
Maddy F.

Do not bother replacing the seal! We did (well got a technician too) it was expensive and despite wiping down after every load, leaving door open to try and prevent mould again it is mouldy and just as disgusting as it was before :( absolute terrible design flaw!!

How do you turn the aeg series 8000 to the cleaning cycle program so you can descale it or do you just use a default program?

I use the longest, hottest wash available. I think it’s about 3.5hrs in length. We’re away on holidays at the moment but I think it’s a “cottons” wash.

Did AEG advise the setting for towels as I am experiencing scratchy towels when washing. The sales person assured me that it did not have this issue.

My towels and clothes are coming out very stiff and rough since buying my new machine. I've tried different cycles and detergents but nothing seems to work. My clothing never felt like this when I had a top loader. Any suggestions?

I use my heatpump dryer to dry them and they are nice and fluffy and soft - maybe if you hang them out and the last bit of drying run them thru a dryer...

My washing has never been clean since I bought the AEG front loader, all my towels are wrecked and never look clean, if I could afford to go back to a top loader I would! It seems to make all the whites grey and doesn’t even get toothpaste off cotton tops. It is a very disappointing, expensive washing machine . No matter how hard I dry and clean the rubber seal it always looks disgusting with mould and sludge which I would think is getting into the wash as the water passes over this section whilst the machine is washing !!! Yucky!!

Hi, I have recently purchased an AEG washing machine and AEG dryer. I'm actullay concerned after reading all these comments. One thing i have noticed is there is no compartment for sard or napisan. Can someone advise if i can use such products in this washing machine?

Merope

Congratulations on your new purchase. I love hearing when others have the same machines as me. Yes, you can use these products in the machine. (I haven't needed to use bleach, so I have no idea where to place that in the dispenser). Not sure if our machines differ, but I place presoaker in the 3rd slot of the dispenser.

Looking for feedback We are looking for a new front loader, we are looking at the Bosch WAW28460AU or the AEG LF8C8412A as we don't want to buy chinese made out of principal. We currently have an Electrolux EWF14912 and after 8 years its noisy, stops mid wash and smells on 1400 rpm spin, we paid over a $1000 in 2013. So want to buy something that lasts at least as long or longer. Looking at the current reviews I'm not impressed. Any people out there with good reviews??

No, I’m not happy about the mould and sludge accumulation in the door seal. I’ve never before had a machine that does this and wouldn’t expect it in one costing around $2K

My towels come out hard what setting should I wash towels? Also this machine seems very hard on my clothes, everything comes out very crushed - even when I wash it on delicates. What can I do to avoid this?

Kylee P.

My towels and clothes come out terrible. Only thing I can do for my towels is after I bring them in from the outside line is pop them in the dryer for 10 mins to try and make them soft again.

Hi We would like the opportunity to discuss the concerns you have raised with you. Can you please email your contact details to customercare@aegaustralia.com.au with ticket ref number 4579915. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks, Liz

Hi Liz, I emailed you with the reference like you asked however I have not had a response. It's been a week now since I emailed you. Can you please respond to my query? Otherwise as a solution I am happy for AEG to take my washing machine back and receive a refund, its under warranty still. I would like to buy a different brand of washing machine that is not so hard on my clothes. I am the only mother at school I know who has to iron the school shirts because the AEG washing machine creases them so badly. Other mothers simply hang them up to dry and they don't need ironing.

Hi everyone, We've bought our washing machine and dryer set from Harvey Norman today. I went to their store determined to buy the Bosch washing machine and dryer set but after having a chat with the seller, we've been told that AEG is better than the Bosh and we should definitely go with this brand. Now that I'm back home and looking at these contradictory review comments, I'm getting a bit confused and doubtful about my decision. Would anyone who has the 8kg (LF8C8412A and T8DHC846B)washing machine and dryer tell me if I should visit their store tomorrow and ask to replace these with Bosch brand or I just stick to them and see how they perform? Your honest answers are highly appreciated.

Cheers, Nima

Just turn down the spin speed. This will sort out the hard towels and creased clothes. Obviously it spins much more efficiently than what you used before. Stop overdosing with detergent and no fabric conditioner and your seals will be fine with no mould . Dry the seal after use and leave the door open for a day

My AEG dryers belt broke after 12 months. My AEG washing machines plastic drum bits always fall out!! I Have been contacting AEG for the last 6 weeks and still no outcome! They sent out someone within 2 weeks who said it was the belt.... and have now been waiting 4 weeks for someone to get back to me?????? Trust it to be the one time when it’s rained every week so far! This is a joke. Having a young family and having to go to a laundry mat to wash my clothes and dry them when I have over 3000 worth of AEG appliances just over a year old sitting there. I’m about to take them back to Harvey Norman and tell them that AEG are waiting for there call to sort it out! What a joke! So much for 5 year warranty! ??

Can Electrolux please explain why they can't answer the most simple question HERE? The same stock response to every single question and negative review only underscores the impression you get here that the product may be okay but the customer service is crap! Can anything be worse than Telstra? OMG

Yes AEG is worse they just have no idea what customer service is and that negative reviews will stop other people from purchasing there products dry ok washing machine not worth it. Piece of rubbish forever broken and can take months to get fixed service agent in my area don’t care as well. Highly recommended not to purchase a AEG anything

Yep. Electrolux, AEG, Bosch, Samsung, Meile, Asko all seem to offer the same stock responses, or no responses at all; I've crossed just about everyone off my buy list! Are there any brands out there with a good customer service reputation?
