Aeratron AE3 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy 3 blade Aeratron has just stopped working - the remote seems fine with new batteries. Who do I call to come out and look at it. I'm in Surry Hills NSW
Is it under warranty? If so contact retailer you bought it from. If it isn't like mine My electrician identified it was the receiver. Just out of warranty hardly used. They wanted to charge me. I explained use etc. It's a distributor here. I ended up writing a bad review. They said in response contact them. Surprise surprise gave me part but I had to pay electrician. Cheaper if you look to purchase another fan. Another fan the receiver went. I didn't bother with aeratron. Too hard. I had 4 in my home, 50% so far down after 12 mths. Not our primary place of residence. Nor do we rent it out. So not alot of use. Suggest if not under warranty look at costs if other fan
Hi Susie, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear your Aeratron fan has stopped working, as we know how frustrating it can be when something you rely on isn’t performing as it should.

Our 5 Aeratron fans worked perfectly for 5 years, they look great and do a good job. Now one has failed, or appeared to, but then it started again, then stopped, then started again and now stopped. There are periods of weeks between the starts and stops. It makes the appropriate noises, I have tried resetting the remote, there is only one setting that it beeps on and that is the original setting. The other 4 fans continue to work seamlessly. Can anyone help? Is this a receiver issue?
Hi Annette, Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aeratron fans—it’s great to hear they’ve been a fantastic addition to your space for the past five years! Regarding the issue with the one fan, it does sound like it could be a receiver issue, but our service team is here to help.
Could you please reach out to us directly? Our team will be happy to guide you through troubleshooting steps or discuss any further action needed. You can contact us at (07) 3711 8833 or via email at customerservice@calibo.com.au.

Hi - it seems from these forums that there is a common issue with the receiver. Can you let us know if any changes have been made to the design to address this issue for the latest version we would buy today? Thank you!
We have 3 of them. One went like that. Others haven't. When I contacted retailers and wholesaler they did a blame game. Hung up the phone wrote review. Aeratron made contact with me, supplied new receiver. In the mean I had to pay an electrician to identify the problem and put in a new receiver. If Aeratron paid for Labor then yes. They didn't so no. I'd buy Big Ass for that particular fan situation. Hope this helps
Thanks for your response. I suspect we’ll buy another product as you suggest.
Hi Bron, The AE3 model was superseded in 2018 by the AE3+ with motor and electronics upgrades better suited to Australian conditions, this included upgrades to the receiver. As part of the release of the AE3+, additional control options have become available including wall controllers, Home Automation connectors and Google integration.
The receivers (encompassed in electronics) also hold a 12-month in-home warranty whereby if you have any issues with your remote and receiver within this time, we cover the electrician to call out and replacement costs.
We hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions!
Aeratron Team
Thanks for the update.
I can see that there are issues with the remote. Does this mean that it can’t be used without the remote, I would prefer the fan to come on with a standard switch and disregard the remote completely. I understand that I would have to control the speeds with the remote but this would hopefully mean that the remote would be used less and hopefully last longer.
Hi Tony, Apologies for the delay in our response and we hope you had a wonderful festive season! The remote for the AE3+ range is of excellent quality and backed by a 12-month warranty however if you prefer a wall control, we also have a DC Wall Controller available as an accessory (which replaces the remote completely).
You'll be able to arrange this from any Aeratron stockists - hope this helps!
Alison
Thanks for the reply. I have contacted lights.co.Uk who I assume are the only Uk distributors and the representative told me first that it would only work with a remote, when I said that you informed me that it could be operated by a wall control he apologised and said that he had only guessed the answer Is there anyone (technical) I can speak to on the phone. I was then advised to purchase the two fans and if I couldn’t get them to work or if I changed my mind I could send them back. There seems to be an extremely serious backup/Aftersales/technical /advise/ issues. Just a name and number is all I need please
Hi Tony, as we are the Australian distributors we can only speak to accessory availability in our area. If you are shopping in Australia, I suggest you get in touch with any stockist listed on our website external link alternatively, we also have a customer service team in Brisbane that can assist with technical enquiries provided you're based locally, you can call the team on 1300 116 305
Anyone else experiencing blade creak as the blades flex during acceleration & deceleration? We are limited to speed 1 because creaking is so irritating when trying to sleep on a hot night. No creaking at minimum speed because blades are not bending then. No creaking with lower hub removed but looks ugly so refitted hub but backed off 3 screws a half turn each which seems to help a bit. If still creaking I shall next try fitting a gasket to lower hub, possibly using Sellotape on contact edges or try taping outside of hub edges with industrial aluminium tape. Anyone tried the latter, or have a fix? Such a shame that such a beautiful & efficient fan has an Achilles heel.
Ours creaked when a small amount if dust during humid weather. We keep them extra clean. No creak noise

Is it worth getting the 5 switch architrave mounted switch plus remote/ What does the remote allow one to do when it is turned on at the switch? Tony.
The remote is all you need .You must have an isolation / on off switch in the line.3 years and 1 motor noisy replaced by aeratron
