Air Wick Essential Mist Questions & Answers
VerifiedI wish I had seen these reviews before buying. Air Wick owes refunds to all these people under Australian consumer law. Personal injury law in Some cases. They get away with it because pursuing them is not worth it. Could not open the oil bottle when we received our first essential mist. No luck and I am not going to injure myself to open. A defective product. Do you have anything to say Air Wick?
I was very disappointed with this product. After nearly cutting my knee trying to get the top off the oil bottle once it was assembled it worked okay for about 3 days, then I had to keep turning it off and then on again to get it to work again. Threw it in the rubbish bin. Will never buy an Air Wick product again.

The glass bottle containing the oil won't click when I insert it and keeps popping out before I can close it , I have tried slotting it with the shaped side against the batteries and slotting it in with the glass bottle with the round side against the batteries but it won't click in??
I can’t get the lid off the oil bottle at all. So disappointing
Why is the blue light flashing? Batteries are good and there is 1/4 of oil still in the bottle.
I to wonder how often the mist comes on during the eight hours...very confusing!
Is there a Airwick Honeysuckle mist available
ever since i have used the essential mist my windows are fogging up and not just foggy, but running down the glass, never had a problem with condensation before, surely this can't be healthy
Can we all have a response about the lids on the air mist refills?? I have 3 that I am unable to open.
It is plastic. Pop it off lady. None of them work anymore. I wasted my money
Same and I thought it was a defective one so I got another and they're impossible to open
I literally had to saw this off with a bread knife! What a joke.
I know. I can't open it. I gave used pliers. I want a refund or replacement without the lid on.
Agree. I can't open them either. I cut my hand trying to open one with a knife.
The come of like a tablet bottle push really hard down while unscrewing at the same time
This particular batch of bottles do not open. Wasted our money
Finally got mine off - get one of those plastic bottle opener sheets and push really hard down while unscrewing at the same time - they come off like a medicine bottle. Hurt my hand but got it off!
Agree - that means it is defective and they should have to give refunds
Tried that did not work for me
How to clean the gunk off the cover circle where scent is dispensed ?
I LOVE my air wick diffusers. Haven’t had a problem with any of them and get the most compliments on how good my home smells. I wanna just know how to clean the thing. The part where the mist comes out?
Sorry Dovie M I was so disillusioned with the entire thing I threw it in the bin months ago & have not had one moment of remorse so I hope someone else can answer your question.
What is going on with these refill lids? They didn’t used to be impossible to unscrew, did they? This is too annoying, I’ve spent half an hour trying to get the thing off with no result. What’s the trick?
Hi Julie, I have had the same problem. After numerous attempts and sheer perseverance I did eventually get it off. You could try pliers. If there is a man in the house, he may have more success than us girls- I don’t so had no option but to keep trying. I won’t be buying another refill, I am very disappointed with the unit, my current one is about to run out then I will be putting the whole thing in the bin.
I’ve been using mine for a couple of years now, I’ve never had this problem before, but now I can’t open any of the refills. When I wrote the last message I ended up destroying the bottle in the process but I did get the lid off with sharp knives and pliers. Think they should have a stern talk to the engineer. Yeah, I think I’m out now as well, won’t be buying these again. Shame, I did like them.
I purchased a refil for my essential oil diffuser but cannot get the lid off the refill Had any one else had this problem
Yes Linda I had great difficulty in getting the lid off mine as well. Through sheer determination I managed to eventually free it. The only advice I can give is, keep trying or get a strong man to help you out, which was going to be my last resort, but difficult because I live on my own - all the best, regards Wendy
Thanks Wendy I will keep trying
I bought 3 and cannot get the refill lids off!
Krissie I am on my 3rd as well and cannot open either
same dilemma!!! annoying lid
Hi Annabelle I finally had to use a knife it worked but not The ideal way to open it Regards Linda
THis is ridiculous! I can't open it either.... what a horrible product!
I buy my refills at Amazon.com and have no issues whatsoever. Perhaps these are designed to be a bit difficult because they are toxic ? So childproof ! Contact company & either ask for refund or suggestions but definitely put in a complaint re: the design so Airwick will consider changing the packaging.
I can get children medicine safety lids off but not these ones??
The only way I have been able to get the lid off is to use a knife and saw down the side of the lid to remove it not an ideal solution
After replacing my Air Wick Essential Mist. fragrance and batteries the blue light comes on but no mist? Can you help please as I love it when it works.
I have had three, exactly the same happened to them all. None of them lasted more than a few months. No fix for them at am afraid.
So I put my batteries and put in the oil it came with and then put the cover back on turned it to the first thought the blue light came on then went off and doesn’t come back on not sure why it’s not coming on again
I have a similar problem. Mine comes on but immediately shuts back off
Same I have just purchased one and this has happened. I don’t know what to do anyone have any idea ?
Where can I buy the diffuser? I already have the the refills.
How to clean the circle on top of the cover it is clogged with glue ish hunk ?
Where can I purchase the diffuser?
I have an air wick diffuser canister. It has stopped dispensing the mist. I changed batteries I put in a new refill bottle and made sure it is in properly. The dispenser lights up but no mist. HELP! Please and TY. Debbie Smith
I went to change the oil in my airwick and the cover got jammed on the wrong way and I cannot get it off again. Any suggestions? It does not work this way
This is a piece of junk. I had it a week. It worked one day where you could see mist from the oil...it never came back on. I took the cover off with no problems and put it back on easily. My issue like many others, the unit stopped working on it's own... I tossed it in the trash and wrote off $16 I paid for it!
On this device is the blue light meant to stay on all the time or only when first switched on? Thanks..
As far as I know the blue light only comes on when it sprays
I followed the directions and after the blue light came on and the first mist came out nothing happened after that no more mist? Is that what it does, I have to restart for 1 stray of mist??
I experienced the same issue , so in all honesty I wouldn’t recommend this product
On a low setting of often does it go off?
