I've also bought an Alcatel onetouch 282 & it's now showing SIM locked, SOS only! I've swapped it into a Samsung mobile & the SIM works perfectly. Swapped it back into the 282 & it shows SIM locked, SOS only! So, the problem is with the phone, not with the SIM. Can anybody help?

Hi Lynne. I`ve had the same problem with my OT 282. I managed to fix it by hard resetting the phone. With no sim card installed and the phone shutdown, press de # key and while holding it press the power key. The phone should start up and ask you to format it. Hit yes and wait for it to finish. After it reboots, shut it down, insert the sim card and power it on. It should work. I found that a lot of people have had the same problem with the same device and this fixed it. Hope this solves your problem too. All the best.
