I have an 18 year old machine that never missed a beat. Lately it gives a whooshing noise evry time it begins any rotation from a stationary state. Starting today it gives a howling noise as it's slowing down and coming to a stop. Any tips? I am suspecting the drive belt being loose/worn out.

Hello I recently bought an ASKO W4104C front loader washing machine (2 weeks ago) after 27years of faithful service from a top loading Maytag machine. I'm now having to spend hours removing lint from my washing which I never had to do before. I just don't have the time to do this so I'm reaching out to anyone who can help. Does the ASKO have a lint filter? If not, any recommendations on a machine I should buy to replace this recent (expensive) purchase? I'm really disappointed with the performance and have reached the stage where I'm prepared to throw out this $2500 machine for one that will perform to the level of my old machine. Thanks

my machine (ASKO W6342 Quattro front loader) is over filling with water and not running through a cycle - I have reset it numerous times, and turned off at the wall, and have checked the trap for small items stuck in the trap (three coins were removed). Theres no error number coming up either to be able to work out what is going on with it, which is really strange. Does anyone know what is going on with it...?

We have an Asko W6342 washing machine which is about 13 years old, it has performed well over the years but recently the door did not open automatically after it finished a wash, this happened on and off for about a year, on the odd occasion when it did not open we would hold the key button for 10 seconds and the door would open, now it never opens and when we hold the key button, the pump starts and it reverts back to the beginning of the program and we need to open the door manually by pulling the string in the drainage door. Is there a simple fix for this or is it a service call?

Regards Pat Davey

I have the same problem with the same model Did you get it fixed?

Yes I called a service company that identified the issue then I fixed it myself by replacing the WATER LEVEL / PRESSURE SENSOR 8061664 that I picked up on eBay for $27.00, the quote from the service company to fix it was over $300

It is still working today

Not as far as I'm aware. Bear in mind that a Quick Wash is NOT meant to wash more than a couple of shirts & a pair of pants, and a short cycle won't thoroughly clean badly soiled clothes. Choose the appropriate cycle for whatever you're washing, and if needs be, use the delay start to allow it to run a long cycle while you're asleep. In 16+ years of using front loaders, I've only needed to use a Quick Wash on around 5 occasions.

We have a W6342 AU front loader washing machine which has developed a leak just behind the big drive pulley making me believe that the seal is leaking. Have started to dismantle the machine as per expert advise but i'm unable to remove the tub from the front. Please advise if under normal condition that is the way or i'm missing something. I believe if it has a spacer between the bearings that it could be corroded the shaft. Please advise if i'm correct? Regards W. Garantini

My Asko is secondhand, not really old. Maybe 5 years or so but hardly spinning at all and clothes come out dripping wet. I emptied the filter which was clogged but still not working. I feel like water is stuck inside the washing machine still. Any suggestions?

Hi, my Asko W6342 front loader works perfectly fine except it spins like crazy on the final cycle when spinning/draining. I’ve used the lowest rev but the machine still ends up moving about half a metre from its spot. My guess is that the basket is imbalanced but I’m not sure where or how to check. Any ideas?

Hi we have a W6864 model Asko front loader which shook the house when we first installed it. It was louder than the proverbial chaff cutter and moved across the floor as you’ve described. The ASKO serviceman told my wife it was normal! I complained so much my wife used it only when I was out.

I analysed the problem as having to do with stuck or defective shock absorbers, but before challenging ASKO about the issue removed the machine on a hand trolley down four steps and into the garage for storage during laundry renovation.

It was brought back up the steps and reinstalled after the renovation and relocated near a wall. It has been perfectly acceptable since. In fact, it is smooth enough to now sit on the (very expensive) pedistal drawer I subsequently purchased, without unacceptable vibration or noise.

Perhaps the combination of better support from the underfloor bearers, but more likely in my opinion, the light jolting from movement down and up stairs, which must have freed the shock absorbers, seems to be what solved the problem.

Hope this helps, but it really is an issue that would prevent me from recommending ASKO front loader washing machines or their after sales service.
