Asko W8844XL / W8844XL ECO Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy W8844XL is 9 years old now. The rubber cushion on the front keeps falling down. How can I refasten it ?
My machine is 4 years old and after it finishes the cycles the door no longer opens automatically. I have to use a key to open it manually. Looking for solutions or if others have had the same issue.
In my 8844 water is not draing from the soap dispenser into the machine. All the wate4r is coming out on my floor and rugs, a lot of water. Evidently the hole for the water is clogged. How do I unclog it?
We purchased our ASKO front Loader washing machine (10Kg) in 2016. From new the machine worked without any issues, but over the last year or so the machined regularly thumps severely with an unbalanced load. To the point where is has "danced" out of position on occasions. This unbalance is becoming more regular even when using small loads, and continues to keep trying to spin until it reaches the required attempts to rectify whereby then it stops with an "unbalanced" message on the display. I am worried we are damaging the machine if this continues. Is it a suspension issue where the suspension has lost tension and can be re-tensioned??
What does wash motor fault actually mean?
Has anybodys Asko 10kg washer left grey grease stains on their clothes? I don’t use fabric softener but my machine seems to be leaving new stains on my clothes each wash. This is my second Asko front loader that they’ve replaced but giving me the same issue
Anyone had any issues with this machine? I’ve had issues since I bought it! It’s 5 years old now. It’s yet go another error, it’s stuck on 1 minute??? I have to stop it to get the clothes out? I also had ongoing issues with my Asko dryer and fought fir Asko to replace, in which they did and now this???!!! Don’t buy an Asko whatever you do!
We had an issue where we couldn't open the door. They replaced the whole control board, but it didn't rectify the issue. It ended up being the temperature sensor. Asko were good as the machine was out of warranty, and they repaired it for free (mainly because I asked them and told them that I read that this was a common issue with the model). We also had an issue with the dryer as it would come up with an Overflow error. I spoke to a technician and found out it's caused by the water level float sticking in the uppermost position, which tells the control panel that the water will overflow (even after the pump has removed the water). I just clean the float when it happens, but you have to take the casing off to get to it plus carry the machine outside to wash the condenser/ float reservoir to remove the lint stuck inside. Not a very good design but the dryer is excellent apart from this.
How to use asko w8844xl eco as dryer?
I have recently purchased ASKO Washer W2084C. My question is:- Where does the dog hair go, it is not caught in the filter. However the hair off the clothes is in the dryer filter. Does the hair flow away with the water? Can someone please advise, as I don't want the washer to clog up.
I bought Asko W8844xl eco couples of years back n recently the door can’t close. Can I DIY ?
what are the dimensions, height depth width?
Hi, We have had our asko for about 18 months now and I cannot seem to get the clothes and towells to come out soft and fluffy. I have tried both fabric softner and vinegar, and I have also cut back the spin speed but to no avail. Can someone please advise if there is anything else I can do? Hate hard towells!
The only way to get towels fluffy again is the finish drying off in tumble drier.
How many standard towel can you put in the 7 kg ASKO front loader
I have an ASKO 7 kg washer which is 6 years old and it started foaming from detergent dispenser and a lot in the machine. Could you please tell me how to fix it as it took awhile to try and drain it so l could open the door. Have done more loads and seemed to work properly but last spin still looks like there could be a few suds there that clothes wipe away before finishing and door opens. Machine model is W6448 eco
my machine is 3 years old and after it finishes the cycles the door no longer opens automatically, I have no idea what to do looking for solutions,
Hi just wondering what did u end up doing to solve this problem because my machine has just started doing the same!!
Just moved house and totally forgot to put the transit bolts in before the move. 1st wash in the new place and the spin cycle is making quite the racket, drum appears to almost be shaking. Have I completely messed up?! What are my options? A service?
I have an Asko W8844XL ECO. It is not quite 3 years old and I have had nothing but trouble with it since I purchased it. Today I ran a Quick program which shutdown during the program (I was at work but the door was locked when I got home and I had to drain the machine and open the door with the emergency key). Now I have loaded the machine again and set it to a Quick wash and it is clicking but not starting. It is not telling me to close the door (it is closed though). Any advice as to what it could be?
Hi
I start the machine
The cycle won’t start until I push on the door when it clicks second time
Hope this works
Got me maybe a program or electrical fault if some kind mine's been great so far came highly recommended salesman said he'd had 1 for 20+ years never had a problem. Has it been repaired? Never over loaded? Doesn't help
Try lighter load or is there a way of rebooting it like a computer like a reset switch?
ASKO recommended that I replace the door lock. Have done that - still no joy
Asko sell a pedestal for their washing machines. Does this fit on it? or is this unit too big/heavy/different dimensions?
I recall the salesman from Harvey Norman's mentioning something about a pedestal, however I think he mentioned it may no longer be available or if your machine is put on a pedestal not specifically designed to go with it, then it would void the warranty. Sorry I can't be of much help but If in fact you are still able to purchase a pedestal through Asko then it would be best to check with them directly. Maybe it was a case of only using an Asko pedestal that suits your Asko machine. Mine just sits very well on a tile floor.
I bought a 8844, but for some reason the drying performance is getting worse. Could you please let me know what can be the cause?
My washing machine does not have a drying option, so I am unable to answer or help with your question. Perhaps it would be more beneficial to contact the Asko technicians directly for further assistance. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. Good luck, I am sure they will resolve this for you.
Asks does not make a washer/dryer combo. The matching dryer is the T884XLCHP. The washer is a W8844XL. i think you've posted under the wrong product.
I have just purchased the 10kg front loader, have always had a top loader and I am struggling with the lack of water although my clothes always come out clean, Guess it will get use to it. My question is does this machine have a fluff/dog hair filter that I need to clean and if so where is it
No it does not have a fluff dog hair filter it just goes out the pump into the drain. It is amazing water saver . How are finding closing the door ? Does it engage and have no problems getting straight into the programme or do you have reclose etc?
If the machines gets blocked by a Button, coin clip etc there is a little trap door in the front that you open follow instructions in the manual .
hope you are enjoying the machine I have heaps of dogs also .
Hope this has helped
My door does not close very easily and does not engage every time,
Hi there, sorry it took a little while to reply to your question. I have 2 cats (don't hold that against me) but I find that for items such as their sleep blankets, or anything like my kids clothes after they've been holding the cats to place the items dry into the dryer and put these on an air spin in the dryer prior to washing them. Generally, the air spin will not use any heat and will adequately remove all hair fluff prior to washing. This will generally take 10-15 mins, and then wash as needed. With the Asko machine, the only area which needs to be serviced is the trap door in the front as Julie has replied to you. Any issues with this, the friendly service team will happily guide you through. Also, a really useful tip I have, is be sure each month to run a clean cycle on the wash, this will eliminate any built up suds in the Asko machine and ensure its longevity. I also find that when washing sheets etc, instead of using any fabric softener, simple no name vinegar, and a teaspoon of baking soda will leave your sheets/towels etc perfectly clean and they dry better. Each time I get a new bottle of vinegar, I also put in 2 drops of tea tree oil, and a few drops of lavender oil as well. This helps 2 ways, lavender oil will help your sheets dry nice and crease free, and the tea tree oil will deter any nasties likedust mites etc. Hope this helps. It really is a great machine and I know what your saying about the water thing, but over time you'll wonder how you ever live down without it. I find the door on mine is a ok, but again, any issues just call the service team. All the best with it. Kind regards, Eloise
Thanks Eloise, I love the idea about the dryer and will definitely be trying that. Will also try vinegar, tea tree oil and lavender oil
