Can I purchase a PCB for the actual motor drive for captura. no it's not under warranty.i have replaced the cable as there was a break in the brown wire.the cleaner drives for short time but then goes in fault.there was moisture in the motor drive enclosure and the silica bag was wet I have resealed before assembly with new o ring but I think the moisture has caused an issue with the PCB
My floating cable has broken black piece and getting flashing light on control box. That is not connecting properly. So working on before. Now won't start up. Where can I get new part and repair man to connect?

Out of warranty. But not very old Doesn't Australian guarantee add on as cleaner should be lasting my much longer

Once the product is out of warranty then the consumer guarantee is looked after by the retailer who sold you the unit. We are only responsible for the unit while it is under warranty.

Hi my capture looks like it is off the bottom on one side. It travels around the pool but picks up nothing.
Hi Declan, It might be a sign that the filter basket is full or damaged. It might also be worth checking to see if there is any debris stuck in the cleaner which could me impacting its performance.
If you haven't already, it might be worth contacting our customer service team to see if they can troubleshoot the issue via a video call. Their number is 1300 763 021, Option 3.

My captura has started to climb the walls when it should not, and then drops off and will not change direction, just keeps climbing the same wall over and over. I have checked and cleaned all cable conections to no avail. Any ideas why this is happening?

Like many I have a Captura Robotic and it has been fine for about three years and now the red light comes on and stays on and the cleaner just stops. If I stand and hold the connector cable on the control unit it might go for longer but eventually stops and the light remains on. What is Zodiac's advice please?
Hi Exero, The most likely issue is that there is something wrong with the cable and if it is not the cable it will be the motor block. It really needs to be looked at by a technician to get a better idea.

Is the capture good for vinyl liners?
Thomas i,m unsure how they perform on liners i was happy with the performance but didnt get 12 months out of it and trying to get someone to look at it under warranty is like pulling teeth so do some homework first.o yea i have a fiberglass.

Cani buy a seal for the bottom motor cover
Hi I have a captura plus 2 years and 3 months old . Out of warranty.so I pulled it apart and found condensation in the motor it was quite damp . How it was put together there was no rubber seal on motor compartment, so I’m not supprised water got in Robert Anderson

Many people have had this product die between 2-3 years. Quality is low. Avoid the brand.
A robotic pool cleaner should last 5 to 10 years. Barracuda have a 2 year warranty. According to the ACCC you have an implied warranty which adds onto the manufacturer's 2 year warranty. You have a case for Barracuda to fix under the implied warranty.
how to set run time ?
All of the sudden my barracuda captura is not moving turns on pump is going but is not moving it’s been a great unit until now it’s 4 years old
Same with me. It’s driving me mad. I’d love to know how to solve this. It appears the tracks are a little stiff to me.
I had just had mine fixed I had a new motor put in it and it wasn’t climbing the walls because the gearbox had broken I can’t complain it’s 4 years old total cost $630.00
How much was a new gearbox?
Hi Suzanne C. - I wouldn't bother replacing the "gearbox" by itself. The "gearbox" is an epicyclic speed reduction gear train that is incorporated inside the track motor. It's not a separate gearbox. The whole motor including reduction gear should be a less than $50 AUD part. If you look on eBay and AliExpress, there are a huge number of motors of this type offered - the problem is finding one that is suitable, with the correct dimensions and speed/voltage characteristic. The motor is a brush type motor, and inadequate. A proper repair that would last will involve finding a brushless motor that will fit in the space and have suitable characteristics - I haven't found one yet - still working on it, but my replacement Adventura is going fine - so not much incentive. Hi I'm trying to get spare parts for my Baracuda Captura plus but can't find any track wheels with the lock plugs, just wondering where I can buy one of each as mine has a cracked wheel casing and it now keeps dropping the track on one side. Any help is appreciated
I have a barracuda captura plus, the cleaner error light is flashing on and off, I have checked for air bubbles, checked cable is in properly, cleaned filter and checked for any debris. Still doesn’t work, any ideas or do you have somewhere in Perth WA I can take it in to be repaired, it’s not under warranty anymore.
I had a Barracuda robot cleaner as well. My only advise would be to throw it in the bin and buy another brand as we are still waiting on them with advise or help. Very disappointed and as you can see will never recommend to anybody. Sorry I couldn’t give better info but there isn’t any. J

Captura turns on and only goes in one direction, goes to top of the pool wall and wants to keep going then eventually falls back to the bottom and does it repeatedly
Hi Wayne, I don't actually work on Capturas other than my own, so don't have detailed knowledge of the unit in general. Having said that, it's obvious that most of your Captura is working. The motors both work, the power supply (30V 150W SMPS) is almost certainly fully functional, but there are two other PCBAs (circuit boards) also, one of which is probably the culprit. In the actual robot, there is a small PCBA that includes motor drivers for both motors - it might be faulty. In the control unit that lives out of the water there are two PCBAs - one is the SMPS previously referred to - it is likely ok. The second PCBA is the second board in the control unit, and it may be faulty. If you bought a new controller unit, you have a good chance of fixing the problem, but it could still turn out to be the small PCBA in the robot itself.. Good luck, Cheers John.

Why do you say both motors work? It only goes in one direction.?? Surely only one is working.

Hi Julia R., there are quite a few different scenarios and different possible faults. In my case, my captura stopped moving, but its pump kept working - but what happened when yours stopped? Did it stop moving, or stop sucking up leaves. Is it out of warranty? Have you owned it from new? It might be very hard to help you here.
I have a Baracuda Captura EM15 which keeps stopping at which point the red light on the controller permanently flashes, i have tried it without the filter basket and it still does not work?
My cleaner is just over a year old. It does not clean the pool as it did last year, missing a lot. Floor is still dirty And now, it does not clean up the walls. How can I fix this problem?
I've had it week and it's stopped working , get double flash on control box which manual says wheels or brushes blocked , checked multiple times cannot see any blockage .do I need to remove track or wheels to check ?
If you’ve only had it a week take it back to where you got it and let them mess with it or replace it,if you pull things apart you may void the warranty
Yeah I thought that but if it's a simple fix I'd rather do it than keep going back to Bunnings everytime it stops
Hi Mark, Thanks for your inquiry. Kindly turn the wheels to make sure debris hasn't wedged into the tracks and causing restriction in the movement. You can remove the tracks also to inspect for any debris which is restricting the wheel movements.
