Can I purchase a new rechargeable battery for the AirRam 1047 F TIA Julie
Hi Julie. I have the same problem and have been unable to obtain a replacement battery in NZ. Next step is to take the old battery to a shop that makes battery packs and have one made up utilizing the case from the old battery.
Thanks Eddie will look into it
How long does it take to recharge and are the batteries replaceable and at what cost Regards Len
I can’t say offhand how long it takes but I know it’s never been a problem to me. I use mine every day and I only recharge about twice a week. You have battery indicators on both the floor air ram and the handheld multi-tool. Whenever I notice the 4-spot indicator down to 2, I plug it in so that it’s ready for next time. You can get spare batteries but they’re currently out of stock - supplies are slow at the moment.
Batteries generally take 3 hours to recharge from flat, and you'll have up to 40 mins of runtime on most hard floors/carpets. Batteries are removable, and should be purchased through Bissell directly by phoning them. Cost would most likely be between $80 - $120 depending on whether it's for this model or the new generation of Airram.
Bissell AiRam suddenly stopped working. On pressing the power on button, the red LEDs cycled top to bottom, indicating battery needed charging. With the charger connected, there were no lights on the LED panel (should be green if charging?). After discussing with Bissell Customer Care, purchased a new battery. This did not fix the problem. After further email exchange with Bissell, they sent me a new charger, free of charge (no pun intended!). After "charging" both batteries, nothing changed (no green lights when charging, cycling red LEDs after power on, but no motor. My first inclination was to assume the battery was charged (new battery, new charger) and that therefore the red LED indication was false. However I noted that, unlike most chargers for phones, tablets etc, both chargers remain cool during charging. When I measure the voltage output from the chargers, it is zero (should be around 22 Volts). Perhaps the red LEDs are telling the correct story, and the batteries are not being charged. Is there perhaps a faulty batch of chargers? It has been a great vacuum cleaner, albeit a bit noisy, and I agree with the positive posts on this site. Would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks Roe
That's an odd one, keep liaising with customer care about this as it's hard to tell whether it's the batteries, the charger, or the machine itself - or consider the new version of AirRam they released in Australia recently.
Thanks Bingo Bingo Confusion arose because it turned out the replacement charger Bissell supplied was also defective. Once Bissell confirmed I should be able to read 27 volts on the output plug I purchased a new charger and all now working normally
Can I purchase replacement parts for the discontinued AirRam? I need a replacement plastic strip for the front casing where the brush sits inside. My husband can get a little enthusiastic using this machine
I would contact the Bissell Outlet Shop in Scorsby, Victoria - they would be able to let you know if they have in stock and could post to you or if you live nearby you could pick up.
No, it wasn't your husband, it happened to me too, broke 13 mths after buy, and you can get from Bissell but it takes a bit of time (long time cos they don't answer very quickly and then don't respond well, there's a girl on emails who is terrible) for them to get back to you and i gave up and threw the thing out, mine lasted just over 12 mths before that happened. I'm going back to corded vacs, i tried other vacs too, even a Dyson and it was terrible. I should say they sent me the part, but it didn't seem to fit properly and no one i knew could get it to sit in there.....sad because it was v good.
Sounds exactly like our story!
Replacement parts are available directly through Bissell Shop - external link - if the part isn't listed on the website generally it mean it's out of stock, but they can order any parts for you.
I live in Midland Western Australia. Where can I purchase a Bissel Air RAm Cord free locally? papaCol 0427988855
What is the price
Hi , Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement battery pack? Mine is 4 years old and has never let us down till now. tyia
Bissell have an outlet shop in Scoresby, Victoria. Google Bissell Outlet Shop and ring to see if you can order online or pick up from store.
Is the air ram 1047F discontinued?
I don't know. But Ozsale tend to sell discontinued and refurbished stocks often. The one I purchased was not refurbished.
Thankyou, i have one but need new brushes and the girl at bissell told me it was discontinued. Seems strange when there seems to be alot forsale. Mines 3 years old
Available from Bissell's outlet website with massive discount on carton damaged AirRam. I've bought one recently and the carton was slightly damaged but, the vacuum itself is new. It functions well.
just had mine a few week all red lights flashing now will not charge are work it is not blocked or any thing it came with out a guarantee in the box i bought it from studio, i cant get the handle of to pack it up. any one know any thing should i change the fuse?
Take it back. It would be under warranty. I think Bissell offer a two year warranty.
I have an Air Ram & over the year and a half of use it has been great. Only trouble is that the handle has started to come out every time I lift it or use it. Have tried to fix it, but the only way I can see is to drill a hole thru the part the handle fits in to and try to hold it with a screw, but don't really want to go that route. Can someone please help me. Roger.
I assume you have unscrewed the rear plate and top plates when trying to fix it. You would then have seen if there is anything in the way of a screw at the rear and at the front, I would guess it is clear. If it's all clear, can't see any problem with that physically or aesthetically. (Use plated screws).
But before you do any of that, check your warranty. Mine came with a 2 year Bissell warranty, to which I added another year from the seller.
Hi there, i have just bought one of these and all seems great but the lights are flashing? any ideas? i'm in the uk
Hi yorky2019 ... when charging my AirRAM displays 4 solid green lights... the light display goes down from 4 bars to 1 as it gradually loses charge when in use. Charge holds for much longer than expected ... I've never noticed my lights flashing . Sorry I can't help, I would only be guessing! Good luck ...
Not the foggiest, sorry. But Bissell are sure to know
Hi just bought the vacuum cleaner can't get the handle to stay in Wondered if I was doing something wrong?
Best give bissell customer service a call, those guys at very helpful, the phone no' in the instruction manual.
As Red Griffen says give the guys a call, maybe try to turn it around.
How is it on stairs? Sounds perfect for our place, if it works ok for them too.
The air ram is as I said In my review a great addition to a vacuum cleaner but I don't think it's suitable as a main cleaner , especially if you have any carpet or rugs. Mainly for odd jobs and quick cleans , very useful none the less. I don't have stairs but I think it would be awkward and ineffective along the stair edges and corners. Best use your proper vacuum for stairs .
Not sure as i dont have any stairs. I have found that our carpets already look cleaner however, I may keep the dyson for getting into cramped spaces such as behind cupboards etc.
It is not suitable for use on stairs and you cannot use it on furniture or nooks and cranny's - just on carpeted or hard floors.
