Bosch HomeProfessional Front Load Washing Machine Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi, I couldn't find any info in the instruction manual (maybe I missed it), but how do I add a disinfectant or fabric softener manually before/to the rinse cycle if I wanted to do that? Do I add it to the same slot where I put the laundry powder after the machine has started? And at what point do I add it so it doesn't get released too early?
Edit : I don't use any of the i-dos features as I just manually add laundry powder/liquid before starting the machine in the manual liquid slot.
Do all bosch front loading washing machines have stainless steel drums?
Hi. We have a E23 error and possible water leak, we attempted a fix on previous errors, drain and tilt forward. This error worked then would run a full load then error would reappear.

The Drum explained is stainless steel. Peace of mind to buy extended 3 + 2 yrs warranty. Only found out by tech call that 10 cents accidentally left in clothing damaged the mighty stainless steel glorified sales pitch line and also extended warranty disappointment that Error 23 in a Bosch asked for a Service call and not mentioned as drum damage. The tech did not open drum to inspect so Bosch machines Stainless Steel drum Accidental and unknowingly left in clothing leading to the glorified Stainless Steel drum/ extended warranty. Australian joke what is covered for this unknowingly incident leading to the mishap Bosch really
Hi just wondering where I put liquid softener ? In which compartment thx
Hi Crew, Every time we go to wash a message pops up: "close detergent drawer" comes up even though it is closed. I've been removing the drawer each time which is a pain, then blowing in the end where the connection point is and gently sliding drawer back in. It seems to then work. Can anyone help out here with suggestions?
The user manual says nothing about selecting a spin only cycle on the Bosch WAY32891AU or, am I missing something? However, I have found a Utube demonstration showing the process: Turn on machine, turn selector dial to additional programs>options>spin. Go then to main menu to select the desired speed and press start. Please advise if this is a Bosch approved method to run a spin cycle only.
Is my washing machine ser. no. WAQ28461GB/12 FD 9310 02858 a "hot water model" or not? i.e. does it use both cold and hot water from the house water supply?
Hi does my machine have a rinse and spin cycle ?
Hi How can I reset my Bosch way32840au ? Thanks
Does Bosch have a top loaded washing machine and how good is it
Hi Al F, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch washing machine. Bosch washing machine only come in front loader washing machines. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Does the Series 8 front loader washing machine have an option for opening the door from the left rather than the right? i.e. have the hinges on the right when facing the machine.
I’m not representative for Bosch. I just provided a review on one of their products. You need to ask a retailer this question, not me.
Hi Vernon C., Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch Washing machine . Our washing machines don't have this option. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
How do you clean inside the rubber on the machine?
Hi KAF, Thank you for your question. We would recommend you wipe the housing and the control panel with a soft, damp cloth. If you needed more information, please feel free to call us on 1300 369 744 (select option 2, mention you model) we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Thanks it’s just inside of the rubber looks a bit whitish. Should you use anything strong to remove it?
Hi KAF, just a warm soapy water and soft cloth would be best to wipe it down with. Don't use any harsh chemicals as this may then transfer onto your garments during a wash. Again if you have any issues please don't hesitate to call us on 1300 369 744. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
What is the best liquid detergent to use for the home professional machine? We also use a separate liquid for baby clothes and turn the idos off.
Hi there. I am using my Bosch washing machine to wash all my clothes at 60 degrees celcius as I have a moth infestation. As it has taken me about 16 hours to do this, I am terrified that the water won’t be hot enough to kill any of the larvae. Can you tell me if the Bosch washing machine heats its own water to the selected temperature or does it use the temperature the house water is set at ( ours is 50 degrees so not hot enough, thus want to check the washing machine will reach above this) Many thanks.
Howdy. I'm not a representative of Bosch. I'd suggest you contact a retailer that sells these machines. In general, most front loaders have their own heaters to heat the machine to the right temperature you set.
Thank you
Hi Rachel, Thanks for your question. Our washing machine has an inbuilt heating element that heats up the water to whatever it has been set to. This particular model WAY32540AU can go up to 90 °C on the cottons program. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Fantastic! Thank you. I have a wardrobe moth infestation and need to kill them at high temps!
I have a Bosch washing machine and when on the sportswear cycle it doesn’t show washing liquid lit up. Also I don’t seem to see many soap suds during any of the loads.
Hi Carol H Cherrybrook, Thank you for your question. There could be a few reasons why you're not seeing suds. For example, the machine may not be taking the detergent. If this is the case, it could be the result of low water pressure. Approximately 10 litres of water per minute should flow out of the tap when fully open, so you may want to double check your water supply. Another reason could be the nozzles in the detergent drawer are blocked, preventing the detergent to get into the drum. If this is the case, then it's a simple fix. Just follow the below 'step by step' guide on how to clean the detergent drawer on your appliance and it should rectify the issue. • STEP1: Remove the detergent drawer from the washing machine by operating the middle lock and sliding it out. • STEP2: Allow the detergent drawer to soak in a wash basin and remove any stubborn residues with a cleaning cloth or small brush such as a toothbrush. •STEP3: Dry the detergent drawer thoroughly and slide the detergent drawer back into the housing. If none of the above seems to fix your matter, then we ask if you could kindly call us on 1300 369 744 (select option 2, ,be sure to mention your model number). We'd be happy to investigate this matter further for you. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Hi, My name is Vince, we bought the Bosch Home Professional washer about 3 months ago, and i noticed when its on easycare and on 60 degrees, after its finished the first wash cycle and its about to start with rinsing with aqua sensor there's a pause for about 5 to 10 mins before anything happens, ive tried looking at the instruction book but doesn't help, is this normal ?
Not sure. Probably best to give Bosch a call and ask them.
Thanks for your answer Bomber P, I did call bosch and she wasn't sure, i think someone with the same washer needs to try it and let me know PLEASE, with the same settings, easycare and on 60 degrees.
I would have contacted one of the 7 existing reviewers then posted the outcome.
I have the same problem Vince! On Mix cycle. Maybe not as long as 5-10 min but def some pause there. And there’s still foam on the door after a cycle finishes. So I’m guessing it’s not really rinsing properly? I have a timer issue as well where the time goes down and goes up again all the time. So a one hour cycle usually finishes in 2 hours or sometimes longer. I’ve contacted Bosch warranty team and we’ll see what happens. I’ll never buy a self dosing washing machine again :(
Hi Bei Li, yeah i think they all do that, even ours always goes up in time when its low in minutes, it might go from 10 mins remaining to 36 for example, and like you im guessing theres too much foam left so the sensers are picking it up and doing more rinse cycles, but on the same token it says the self dosing gives the precise dosage which to me is a load of .... you can turn it off in each setting if you want, we did for some like the woolens and delicates etc
Thanks for your reply Vince! I hope Bosch is not gonna come back and say it’s normal for the timer to go up itself coz that means I’ll have to pay for the call out fee lol on the other hand, even if it is normal, it’s not very good if you have plans is it?? Expecting it to finish in 1 hour but takes 2! I thought high tech machines were supposed to make life easier. Ive tried turning the idos off but then my softener wasn’t even dispensed…looks like it’s only dispensed when idos is turned on. I’m very disappointed with this machine overall. Wish I could have my old Samsung back.
Hi Bei Li, Thank you for your question. Vince is correct, this is normal. If the machines pressure sensor ( which detects soap) or the turbidity sensors (which detects dirt) detects an excessive amount of either soap or dirt still in the drum, then the time will change. This happens as the machine will register, and add the additional time to ensure an optimal wash. You can read more information about this matter in your user manual. However if you would like to discuss this further please feel free to call our team on 1300 369 744. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Hi Bosch, Thank you for your reply! But if I chose a super quick cycle that means I want it to finish super quick! If it takes one hour for a quick cycle to finish, then what’s the point? Is there any way that I can override this sensor system? As I mentioned, I tried turning idos off but then my softener didn’t dispense. Thanks.
By the way, even with all this time added, the result was not optimal. There was still foam residues left after cycle finished. I often had to run another rinse cycle on top of this already dreadfully long cycles.
Hi Bei Li, We urge to please call us on 1300 369 744, so we can discuss more in depth with you about the issue you're experiencing. That way we can determine if basic trouble shooting is not successful , if a service maybe required. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Hi! We purchased our Bosch WAY32891au a year ago, half a year ago a problem with excessive lint started. Tried different circles and loads with no improvements. Also tried cleaning the water supply filter and drain pump but the problem persists.
Hi Alexandra, Thank you for your question. Excessive lint on clothes after washing may also indicate that the water pump filter is clogged. When that happens, the wash and rinse water with all that suspended lint drains too slowly and leaves deposits on wet clothes. Our recommendations is to regularly clean your washer filters before they’re full, Wash garments prone to attracting lint inside out, and Wash high lint clothes on a gentle cycle. If the issue persist please call us on 1300 369 744 (select option 1), we'll be happy to investigate further for you. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.
Thanks for the reply. Water pump filter is clean. Will try and call by the number you provided
