Had this machine for a while but there is one annoying feature. There is no option to add an extra rinse cycle automatically like I had on my previous Bosch. So bloody annoying.

Is there any way to add with a firmware update?

Also the IDOS function is poorly designed. You can only increase dosage so if it’s 65ml you have to press 20 times to go up to 200ml then start again it should have an upp and down dosage button. Stpid design.

Our house just short circuited, and our washing machine now won't turn on. We don't know whether it was the machine that shorted the house or not, but there was nothing unusual about it. We used it this morning, and then went to put on another load, we lost power, and now it won't turn on at all.

When I pause the machine mid cycle, it stops but the door will not open to add items to the wash. There used to be a click noise when it was safe to open the door, but this does not happen at the moment.

My Bosch Serie 8 WAW28620AU 9kg beeps intermittently throughout the wash. Two quick beeps but no error code and the I dos fabric softener light comes on. Then it doesn’t wash, it just stalls. This morning the control panel froze after it beeped. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi there. My Bosch washing machine WGG24401AU (bought in Early 2024) is great but has one problem: When I used the ' finished in' option, it stuck before rinsing and showed the program duration instead of 'end'. It works perfectly if not using 'finished in' option. help please! David

Hi. I’ve never had to reset before! Maybe turn off then restart . The instruction booklet may help also !

The internet says to switch the machine off/unplug for 5-10min. Then connect to power again. Apparently that resets drains any residual charge. See instructions here: external link

Why does my front loading washing machine syphon water back into my machine, from the laundry trough, at the end of a wash cycle? When I open the door water gushes onto the laundry floor. This never happened with my old Asko machine. What can I do to stop this happening?

Bunny, Melbourne I purchased a Bosch front load WAW28460AU washing machine on 1/11/2023. On 3 occasions I have opened the door at the end of a cycle & water has poured out onto the laundry floor. In one instance the cycle had been finished & clothes had removed for 5 hours. I collect the grey water discharge in the laundry trough for recycling & think the water is being syphoned back into the machine. I did this for 17 years with my Asco front loader without a problem. Has anyone else had this problem. Hopefully there is there a solution?

My washing cycles are now taking on average 2 hours which is nothing short of insane. How are people getting around this? I go for a 40ish mix cycle but they go on for hours. To be honest all cycles go way over time. Help needed, I'm so frustrated by this machine.

I keep getting the foam detection warning light coming up even though I use a very small amount of detergent. It makes all the cycles take double the time because it does an extra rinse cycle. Why is this, and how can it be rectified?

Can I interrupt a spin cycle to protect clothes?

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Tom, Thankyou for your question regarding your Bosch washing machine. You can interrupt a spin cycle by hitting the pause button on your machine which will stop the cycle. When the water level is below the door it will allow for the door to unlock. Alternatively, you can protect your delicates by placing them in a laundry bag. Regards, Bosch Home Australia

How do I rinse/spin on a a serie 8

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Kate, Thankyou for your question regarding your Bosch washing machine. . The Rinse Plus ' button is set by default for this program. If you require a spin cycle only, press the button to deactivate the function. If you require more guidance regarding this please refer to page 31 of your manual. Alternatively, If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.  Regards, Bosch Home Australia

Your response above doesn't really answer Kate's question (and mine as well). I cannot see from the manual how I can just have a rinse/ spin. ie. If I hand wash something and just want to rinse and spin it what setting do you recommend I use ?

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Deborah, Thankyou for your question. To set to a normal rinse/spin cycle please turn your dial to 6 programs to the right. For further clarification please see page 31 of your manual. Alternatively please feel free to call us on 1300 369 744 . Regards, Bosch Home Australia

This reply makes no sense. Turning 6 programs to the right puts me on the Delicates setting, and further clarification on page 31 of my manual is "Faults and what to do about them". These response sound like a badly written answer from ChatGPT

Hey Debra I have worked it out. Select Rinae/spin on the dial, then press Rinse Plus on the right. It is not an actual button, just press the words Rinse Plus. This will reduce the time down to 10 minutes which is crap because that is a waste of electricity. It will go through the rinse cycle without the water and then spin. I have a series 8, German made. I hope this helps because their robot answers sure don't. Cheers Colleen

Deborah H.
Deborah H.

ok, so the answer I've worked out is: turn the dial 6 programs to the left to the Rinse/Spin program then click off the Rinse Plus button that is above the display panel..... and select the spin level you want.
