Brass Monkey 138L Upright Fridge and Freezer GH1662 Questions

I’m having issues with my brass monkey 138 L upright. The freezer seems to be working but the fridge is sitting at 14.5°. I have turned to 6 on the dial. The freezer is sitting at -5.6 but the fridge is still sitting at 14.5. Is the fridge faulty?

I did a review on this fridge a few years ago. This fridge is absolute rubbish. I have sent 3 back and they are all the same. The fridge will NOT hold a safe temperature for storing food and it will continuously run drawing 5 amps day and night. What you have is the fridge unfortunately and nothing you do will make it better. And brass monkey dont care.

I'm having trouble. Mother stops and starts running for seconds and stops minutes later starts and stops??? Freezer works then it stops, the fridge is just like a woman runs hot and cold.. I've tried it when it's empty same thing.grrr

Mine was struggling to pull enough power through the 1/v cig DC socket, it actually melted the plug. So I had a professional engineer cut the power cord and attach an Anderson plug instead and I routed it directly to the battery. No problems since then (except for the battery occasionally draining out which is a separate issue).

I bought this fridge because I wanted the separate freezer compartment and wanted enough food storage to head to the outback/off grid for a while but the reality is, unless you’re feeding a family, this fridge might be more than you need, and pulling more power than you have.

Any idea where the fuse is located in this fridge? Fridge isnt working. Checked power inlet and has power but nothing on fridge.

Can you replace the 12volt connection plug on the 138L upright fridge freezer

yes i fitted anderson plug .no problems..any 12v or 24v accessories with a cigarette plug should be replaced in the same way.

Need help with connection cable. The brass monkey 138l comes with a terrible 12v connection that’s broken. Wired in an Anderson plug instead but now compressor won’t kick in. Need help please

Haven't got your polarities back to front have you?

thanks for your reply Mick. Nah mate polarities are good. The light went on but no compressor. Hard wired it to an Anderson adaptor beforehand, same thing. Hooked up every different size fuse also hard wired but same thing. I ended up fixing the old adaptor with some parts from another one and that worked. Bloody weird mate.

Is there s compensatory switch and where on the 138 l fridge. It does not work in cold weather though it foes make noise

I dunno. But we have discovered that you need to adjust the knob (setting on the RHS wall) to around 6 otherwise it doesn't seem to freeze things enough. Mind you, wifey does have a lot in it. If we didn't have it so full we could probably drop it back to 4 or 5 I suspect.

Having similar issues only have a couple bits of steak and some water ice blocks in freezer steak frozen ice blocks are water and fridge not very cold at all :(
