I have an F8 error showing on my left side of an 80/100L fridge freezer. Getting frustrated and can’t turn the right side back on now. Sound like it would be best to visit Jaycar as the Brass monkey site is taking days to respond.

F8 indicates a faulty temperature sensor. Have you tried a factory reset?

I follow the process but nothing seams to happen.

Is three dashes the equivalent of 3 eights!

Matt

Press + and the compressor button. Which plus! Or both pluses! The one for left or one for right or both pluses and the compressor button. Just dashes appear.

What settings should I have on my 80l fridge freezer app to get my left side at -6°C and right side at -18C? I mean the four left TC and four right TC settings in the app.

I use a generic car fridge app - much better than Brass Monkey app

If everyone has a brass monkey fridge/freezer in a camping/caravan site what’s stopping them from altering your settings, I’ve got the 115ltr version I have put it on lock and sometimes I check up on it and the lock has removed itself???

Hi just wondering I got a 100L brass monkey stainless steel now for some reason the right box works brilliantly but not the left one for some reason it won’t cool and I’m not sure how to rest this particular fridge model any answers I’m sure would help cheers

We went to a Jaycar store and they knew the codes to do a factory reset.

I use "Car Fridge Freezer" by Alpicool. Works much better than the Brass Monket app

I have the 100 l version of this. I can't configure it as freezer in the right/larger side and fridge in the left/smaller side. It won't let me set the right side to a lower temperature than I have on the left. I have tried the panel and the app with the same result. Brass Monkey couldn't help. I have tried the hard reset (E1 then 888 procedure) without any change. The web page says it an be configured in this way but I can't figure it out.

It feels like an incorrect setting that I just can't find.

Any suggestions welcome.

This has now been resolved. The fridge operates as designed. The advice on the website was wrong. The staff at Jaycar Rockingham were EXCELLENT and sorted this out for me and I was able to swap for a fridge that does what I need it to do

I don't use the Brass Monkey app because it is unreliable. I use "Car Fridge Freezer" by Alpicool. Not sure if it will fix this problem but worth a try.

The RTM sales person told us only the left side can be a freezer while the right side fridge. Or they can both be freezer. He said the LG compressor won’t allow it to change

The wife and I are disagreeing on which side of the dual zone brass monkey is the freezer and which is the fridge. The manual indicates that the left side is to be set at a similar or warmer temp than the right side indicating that the right side closest to the compressor is the freezer. Is this correct?

Gordon W.
Gordon W.

We have set both sides to freezer or refrigerator using the bluetooth app

Percy W
Percy W

Great but if you want to run each side at different temps, which side needs to be the coldest? I believe the right side, am I correct? Can someone shed some light and definite answers on this enquiry?

If you can set both sides as a freezer or a refrigerator does it really matter. But more importantly, why does the word "Fridge" have a "D" in it but the word Refrigerator doesn't?

How do I turn only one side of my brass monkey fridge on

Gordon W.
Gordon W.

Just set a high temperature for the side you are not using.

Bill D.
Bill D.

Yep I thaught that but I set it on 20” but it still going down to 12” I was just wandering if that was normal

Hmmm ---- I did the same thing as Bill D --- set a high temperature. It was last day camping though and battery went dead so not sure how well it worked sorry. Have you tried calling RTM? They are pretty helpful and bit more knowledgable than Jaycar on Brass Monkey product in my experience.

Bill D.

Yep might have to as I’m sure there is a way you can only have one side working

The LH side of system does not appear to be working correctly the compressor It’s not turning off and temperature is not being reached on LH side which is resulting in permanently running compressor. Anyone know where this can be taken in Brisbane for service or looking at?

Matt

What pair of plus and minus buttons do you press to turn the off side back on. I want it on permanently now. And this stupid F8 error. I love this fridge but god dame it why! Why! Just work like you say you should [Content Removed].

Im a little concerned about the eco and hi modes cut off system with this unit as ill mostly be useing this conected to 12v to my camper wich i also run lights on the same battery my concern is the unit drawing to much power when it starts up and the voltage on the battery temporarily droping therefor the unit thinks battery is low and doesn't start up has anyone had an issue like this ( it was an issue for me with a previous unit ) but in the end that unit was deemed faulty ???

Gordon W.
Gordon W.

You can set different cut out voltages - as low as 9 volts. And eco mode is quite gentle.

Set it on eco mode & L (low power) cut out & you’ll have no issues
