They seem to have lost all past orders with their financially dysfunctional new website. If you have flybuys you may be able to access something there.

Is anyone else having this issue with their click and collect orders ..... For the last 3 weeks I know I haven't ordered certain products that are in my Bought Before list but yet they appear in my next order and I'm charged for it. Twice now I've had a chicken taco seasoning added and charged to my order and this week it was cherry tomatoes. I know I didn't order them as I'm growing my own and I have an over abundance of them. The call centre assured me I have ordered them as they are on the order yet I know I didn't. Will start taking photos of my online cart before completing checkout.

Yes it has happened to me a couple of times where certain items in my "Bought Before" list have ended up in my order when I was sure I didn't add them when I was on the website, yet upon checking the order they were there. So I never complained because I wasn't sure if I did add them and just forgot, but I am more careful now and check what I order.

Thanks for the reply John. Nice to know it’s actually the system gaslighting me and not me losing the plot!

Why is it so hard to place an order today? I have used Coles online for several years, but now they say there is a security breach, what a load of rubbish. They even sent a text to my phone, that should have been enough to identify me. But no, I cannot log on. When I phone I get another text, this lands me in a ‘security breach’. You just cannot speak to a Coles assistant. Do they not want their customers any more?

coles goes out of their way to make it as hard as they can for on line shoppers, they would prefer everyone to shop in store

Thank you Sammy. It seems that is the answer that makes sense. But some of us have great difficulty getting to stores, thank goodness for Woolworths, who have improved their online service 100%.

Dear Coles admins. This week I wasted an entire afternoon trying to make an online purchase. The problem occurred at checking out, after filling the shopping cart, when the process simply stopped. I tried in different browsers and on two devices, with the same result. I contacted your support, who recommended clearing cache and history, which I did without the problem being resolved. I finally gave up and made my purchase online at another supermarket. After that, I noticed on several websites a high amount of complaints about Coles online, many of which referred to the same problem I faced, ie, I got access to the website, placed the orders, but was unable to complete the checkout. Given the above, and as it is clear that the problem lies with your website, I feel free to ask you what measures are being taken to ensure that customers like me can once again enjoy Coles' excellent online services in the manner that usually happened until the recent past.

Is this a new thing that you put in an order at a set amount and coles can charge you more than the amount you paid? I was charged an extra $15. It used to be if they replaced an item you were charged at the original price so why is it different now?

I find the substitution policy only benefits Coles bottom line because they substitute based on the $ dollar value of the product to Coles. An example of how it works in Coles favour is like ordering 500 grams of chocolate for $5 because it is on a half price deal (normally $10), but Coles substitutes a different chocolate that is only 250 grams for a total price of $5, because that matches the amount of money you were spending.

Do they realise that the only reason we were buying the chocolate was because it was on special and that price offered reasonable value?

After this disappointment we find we are sent product recommendations for the overpriced chocolate.

The A.I. that switches products could be sneaky and it's programming might be influenced by marketing. Was the cheaper product really unavailable, or did the AI. decide to push an alternative to us to increase profits.

Substituting a product should always be based on unit cost, product category, ingredients and suitability.

Another example would be if I was ordering free range eggs, I do not want a substitute of cage eggs.

If I ordered 36 cans of Coke that were on special as equivalent to the price of 24 cans of Coke, I do not want to receive 24 cans of Coke at the normal price. Coles should supply the 24 cans of Coke and supply an additional 12 cans of Coke for free, because that is what they have to do to make up the quantity and retain the unit pricing that I was purchasing.

Trish
Trish

I have given up using substitutions. If my choice is not available, now I put in ‘No substitution accepted’. I feel that if they don’t want to give me exactly the item I need, maybe, just maybe, they will make an effort to find and send me what I have ordered. Worked for me.

Hi on Saturday 9/7/2022 my wife an i came down with covid , we arranged to get a delivery of food from coles through our daughter ([Name Removed] [Content Removed] ) we received some of the food but was missing $75.75 of food. Contacted you people on Monday 11/7 2022 and was told you would refund the money from the missing items. Still haven't received that money yet ! also the total goods bill added up to $141.39 and we were charged $ 185.00 , $43.61 for delivery ? is that correct ?

The biggest problem is they no longer provide an invoice with delivery or click and collect This means you can't check what you have been charged for each item I print my order so I can "check the delivery off" but even this doesn't show amount changes if there have been any I make sure I refer to my statement as well making sure I haven't been overcharged There have been a few times that I've had to take both the printed order and bank statement to the store in order to have it fixed as they refused to do anything through customer service

I have not had to do online shopping before however iso solved that missing link in my knowledge. I wish too know, when do they adjust the money they took from the bank for those items not delivered.

Andrew J.
Andrew J.

They dont, they charge you a prepayment when you order then when packed they charge you the full amount again. So say your order was $150, but it ended up being $140 they will charge you both and drop the $150. Unfortunately depends on your bank this will possibly be 7 days of two payments on your credit card. Mind you i have a coles credit card and it takes 7 days.

Linda
Linda

In my case they they charged me the full amount of the order immediately $194.43, then there were some items not delivered, like Manuka honey, and the expensive mashing potatoes. So far there has been no adjustment on my credit card. I guess you are right though it could be a week. Just as well I am not really poor, as in renting etc or I would not have had the money to get someone to buy elsewhere for me. Still having to pay full price for specials ie Dulce Gusto coffee capsules , just one of the half price items I paid full price for. Still the whole thing served it's purpose for that week. By the way nothing to do with the timing of the specials .....

Is a coles plus membership worth it for flybys points? I can't get it delivered to me where I am but the double points could be useful as I save the points to do Xmas shopping at the end of the year. But $19 a month sounds really steep.

Why is it that some items are not available when I have ordered them, yet they are in the shop when I go in.????? Answer please from Coles. They said the potatoes I ordered are not in stock and they did not substitute any. No potatoes in stock???? Come on Coles answer please.

I have the same issue. When I order online I expect it to be there unless stated at that time. If so then I just select something else if available, I won't allow substitutes because Coles doe not understand what the word substitute means, My 1st online order they did a substitute even though I had said no to that in the checkout. I don't go inside Coles now at all instead order online and direct to boot is so much easier and faster.

What is annoying is placing the order and receiving an email with the missing items listed, then I pick it up the get back online and see it is available after all.

I can understand that after placing the order customers depleted the item so when they went to pick it was out of stock but not for a 6 or so missing items. question is where do they pick it from, the customer shelves or out the back in a store room?

The way to get around this problem that works for me is to stock up on items. If it is not available use from your inventory (and rotate it) and try to order it next time. Be mindful of use by dates though.

When I mention stocking up I don't mean Panic buying, they are two different things.

Jayden
Jayden

Probably because they were not on the shop floor when the order was picked and the online team didn’t have time to check out the back. Or it had only just arrived to the store.

We are talking about potatoes, they said that they ran out of potatoes. In all my 60 years of shopping I have never ever seen a Coles or Woolies run out of potatoes. If it was a special item I would understand. The time before that they said they ran out of eggs!!! Come on this we don't believe that at all.
