Hello, we have the Delonghi Magnifica model machine. Our machine just started making one shot of expresso after we push the 2 shot button. Only one puck of coffee drops in the puck container. Any advice on how to fix it?

Dear Ralph, Thank you for your question regarding the ECAM22.110SB. Please be assured that this appliance delivers only one puck of coffee at any selection for double shot, single shot. This appliance does not deliver two pucks at a time.

Thank you

I have had my Delonghi Magnifica S ECAM22110SB coffee machine for 3 years and have had no problems at all with it, (one of the best coffee machines I've ever had). However, in the last couple of weeks it has started to make a very loud clunking noise when its turned on just as it heats up & also just after it has ground the coffee beans. I descale the machine at least once a month & follow the cleaning instructions in the manual. Wondering if anyone would know the reason why it would be making the very loud clunking noise?

Hi Joanna, Thank you for your message. We are so glad to hear this is one of the best coffee machines you have had! Depending on the age of the appliance and how often it is used, If you can hear a "clunk noise " inside the appliance - Its probably time for the appliance to have a little service.

Please private message us with your details and we will help direct you further.

Thank you

We have a Magnifica S and since last month the coffee grinds but then only the odd time runs into cup. Milk frother also working. Most times water runs straight to drip tray and dry ground coffee into container

Hi Natalie, Thank you for your review. It seems like your appliance might need a visit to the coffee doctor! It could need a service depending on how old it is and perhaps some new seals if water is going into the grounds area.

If you need some further help, Please contact us on 1800 126 659 .

We are open MON - FRI 9m to 4pm AEST.

Thank you

how to use pre ground coffe

DeLonghi
DeLonghi   DM

Hi Sam, Thanks for reaching out to The De'Longhi Group. I have listed some information below to further support in the pre-ground function. Step 1: Have the machine dial on the middle pointing to the scoop icon/pre-ground function Step 2: Have the pre ground scoop (provided with your machine) filled to the top and ready to drop down into the chute up the top Step 3: With one hand holding the scoop and the other hand ready to press espresso, drop the scoop into the pre-ground chute on the front and press espresso once this has dropped down. Step 4: Machine will brew the coffee and delivery into the cup.

I have linked a video to further support as well. external link

Any problems, please direct message us with your contact number and we can give you a call. Thanks, Team De'Longhi Group.

Hi guys. I just got my machine yesterday. Preground coffee worked for first cup. Went to make another and it will not run the water. It just sits with the coffee light on. If I press it a second time, it just dumps the coffee dry. Tried waiting 5 minutes, switched on and off, followed all the advice above... zilch.

Thank you

Why does my steam wand gradually become weak?

I steam milk from the cup individually and sometimes make multiple cups. The first cup froths up really well but when I try to steam a second or third cup, the pressure gets weaker and the milk just bubbles. I use it once daily and this occurs every time. Shutting the machine off and waiting a bit seems to help but I wont be able to make multiple cups at once.

Hi Orv, Thanks for your comment on this machine and contacting The De'Longhi Group. There can be many reasons why this is happening. Please ensure that there are no splits/damaged to the O-rings or inner tube on the steam wand. If air is escaping, then this can affect the steaming.

Also, in between coffee and steaming we recommend that once you have completed the steaming of milk to close the steam dial to the O position waiting 20 seconds and opening back up to release some air steam just like they do in the office shops.

Please feel free to send us a private message with your phone number and we can give you a call for further support.

Thanks Team De'Longhi Group!

I have the same, especially if I do a double quantity of milk. It can do that first batch ok, but on the next cup of milk, the frothing starts to die out before the milk is hot enough. I always purge the wand after frothing as suggested above, but that doesn't help. Come back an hour later and its OK again. I don't hear any signs of leaking o-rings etc. I suspect the thermo-heat block just runs out of oomph. If it gets worse I will end up playing around with it. It could be a pump, it could be a flow meter, or it could be hoses, steamer-tap, o-rings, or just the thermo block.

Update# I fixed my withering steamer issue. I replaced the steamer valve and all good now, it can do multiple cups in a row again. A cheap fix if you are handy on the tools, otherwise it's off to a service centre . (Note that qualified personnel only, are supposed to be dismantling appliances.) That steamer valve on the ECAM21.x machines seems to be a weak point. My machine is on its 2nd valve in 3 years. if your steam tap seems stiff to turn, that seems to be the beginning of issues. The internals of the valve get tight, and then after a period of time steaming starts to get weaker and weaker.

Milk keeps stop frothing and steam comes out of bottom tray not milk container. Any help?

DeLonghi
DeLonghi   DM

Hi Sue, Thank you for reaching out to Delonghi Group. Please ensure all your frother parts are connected to the nozzle / Steam wand. Please take apart and check the below 1. Outer steamer wand 2. Inner black wand 3. Two orings - 1 black and 1 larger Gray.

If any of these are missing - Air will escape and will not steam.

Please direct message us if any parts are missing and we will support you.

Kindest Regards,

DeLonghi Group

I have this exact model. The steam coming out of the steam wand and is very weak. I’ve replaced the water pump already and there’s nothing stuck in the wand itself. Any advice ?

Hi Mike, thank you so much for your patience. No factory reset is available but please feel free to contact your local service technician who may be able to assist with this. Please look for Coffee or Fully Automatic coffee in the Service Agent list as they specialise in Coffee Machine Repairs. https://www.Delonghi.com/en-au/authorised-service-centre Thanks, de'Longhi

How to set up your warming shelf for cups?

DeLonghi
DeLonghi   DM

Hi Cheryl, thanks for your question. To warm the cups before making coffee, you can enable the cup warmer (A6) and rest the cups on the shelf. 1. Press the selection arrow (B2) corresponding to the "symbol (B8) to enter the menu; 2. Scroll through the menu items by pressing the selection arrow corresponding to "NEXT>" until "CUP WARMER" appears on the display; 3. Press the selection arrow corresponding to "CUP WARMER"to disable (OFF) or enable (ON) the function.

Thanks, De'Longhi

Machine was not making coffee. It would grind the beans but water would not go through the beans and spouts into the cup, but instead it would bypass directly into the tray.

Small tray about 1"x 1/2" has dropped out on my Magnifica s when I emptied the grounds and drip trays. Looks like it should clip somewhere. Listed as part no 21 on mrbeantocup website. Any ideas folks, thanks.

It catches drips from the interior whilst the main drip tray is removed. If this image link works you can see where it slots in with the main try removed: external link

Magnifica s smart steam from wand dies out very quickly so can’t heat milk. Steam Pressure starts ok then sputters to nothing. It’s never been great from day one

Are the grounds in the ground container supposed to be damp?

Mathew Newton
Mathew Newton

Yes, they've had water forced through them. I seem to recall reading you might also expect an occasional drip of water to end up in there too from the infuser and that this too would be perfectly normal.

Hi my DeLonghi Magnifica S leaks water from the water canister. a lot…Thru the outlet that houses the filter. I haven’t use a filter for years because I didn't have hard water. Can I buy a replacement water tank or should I buy a filter. Hope I haven’t wrecked it as I love it. I just keep putting a small amount of water in it each time I use it, works for me but frustrating. Poor abused machine..

I live in a soft water area and have no need to descale. How do I just cancel the descaling cycle on a DeLonghi MagnificaS?
