sorry, but this is again a software problem. It seems that they have a bad service all over the world. Better buy another brand.

It is better to try to live with this problem, because it is a little thing. And it can be a problem of the sensor or the software or electric wire.

Hope replacing a new tank (new with new magnet) works.

typical De Longhi Software fault... And the repair team in Bangkok was not able to fix it. Thats why I gave my machine away for free. Now I use Saecco, very good.

Hey Vito, The water filter is optional for you in this case. it would help with the flavour of the coffee if you are not already filtering your water. Its fine to use the machine without a filter. Also just make sure you have set the water hardness to level 1 so you dont get asked too often to complete the descale.

Hey Tom. It's quite critical to have the correct amount of water and descaler into level A and B in the water tank. If it hasn't done the right amount of water it wont move on to the next stage. Not good, there is either a loose cable connection or a board failing. Happened on mine, would come and go but got worse and worse, eventually part had to be replaced

Elaine, I have a similar problem and it seems to due to the water tank becoming empty before the ‘Fill tank’ indicator displays. To fix it you need to select the rinse cycle on the menu. I can’t justify it standing on a technician’s bench for 2 weeks before they even look at it, so I just physically check the water level the tank before using it and I’ve not had the problem repeat itself since.

That certainly doesn't sound right. My machine certainly doesn't want to descale every week. The most I have seen it request a descale is once every month, but more often every two to three months. I also have very bad water quality where I live, therefore I've set the hardness on the machine to the maximum. I'd rather descale regularly and look after the machine rather than not descale enough and have problems internally.

But it certainly sounds very unusual. Do you happen to use the water filters as well? There is no way on earth I'd use my coffee machine without a water filter, either on the machine or on your tap where you fill your machine's water tank.

Hello, You are correct in thinking the machine is asking for descale too often.We are heavy users of our machine and descale is maybe once a month to 6 weeks.I only use filtered water in my machine which is just a Brita water filter in a jug.You can buy these at Big w or woolies coles.I would try filtered water after your next descale and see if this makes a difference.Hope your problem is sorted soon.

We use filtered water for ours and it has just started doing the same thing will be ringing delonghi on tuesday

I'm pretty sure that there are still brand new milk containers for this coffee machine on eBay. Haven't seen them in store however. I can't see why you couldn't use two different types of milk as the machine prompts you to clean the milk steamer port after every coffee. The milk never actually goes inside the machine, it is sucked up through the straw inside the container, mixed with steam in the head unit and then funneled into the coffee cup. Therefore there should be no worries about cross contamination of different types of milk.

Hi, yes you are able to purchase new milk containers on ebay if you wish not to have to rinse and empty container with different milk etc in case of allergies or intolerances.I think they are reasonably priced on ebay verus supplier as we replaced ours recently.
