Bought a new head for my dyson Dc19 as my other one didn't have much suction. The new one is exactly the same. The suction is so bad on it, it just rolls over and back on the carpet. Itight as well be not plugged in.
Have you checked that there isn’t a blockage in the pipe further up? Is the suction ok if you remove the wand? You’ve probably done this but change both filters as well.

Every time I clean, the dust gets stuck on the filter instead of going to the dust bin. Which of course stops the suction and seems to force the motor. How can I stop it from doing this?

If you still own the dc19, the cyclone could possibly be covered with a think layer very fine dust build up, because the airflow goes through the cyclone the suction is sucking the dust right on to the filter, you can get a T15 screwdriver or use a can of compressed air/air compressor to try and resolve the issue. if this happens to not work the filter may have imbedded dirt, use some laundry detergent or soap and wash the filter in warm water, try to wash it till the water comes clean then leave it to dry for approximately 24H before use again.
The hard floor tool head broke off from the attachment. I can’t put the head back (it won’t fit back in). Is there any way I can fix it?

Hi what and how do you clean the pull out filter function on the head of a Dyson dc19 ie the red pull out thanks
I’ve never dismantled that red filter part of the head, but I do use the vacuum (using the brush attachment) to suck dust off that filter.
The red disc on the side of the turbine head for your DC19 just needs to be wiped clean with a soft dry cloth or dusting brush. Beyond the mesh on the outside, there is no further filter inside. The mesh on the red disc is designed to keep large debris from interfering with the turbine within that spins the brushbar.

I have a DC19 and one of the wheels on the dual mode floor tool has stopped turning. I am guessing it has hair or cotton wrapped around it on the inside. Is it possible to take a wheel off?
While we don't recommend removing the wheels from the floor tool, if something is stuck, we encourage using a small implement (such as tweezers or needle nose pliers) to remove anything stuck. How many head that dyson dv19 have
Standard out of the box, the DC19 came with one or two floor tools, depending on the machine purchased.

Is it possible to purchase a carpet head for my vacuum? I know it is more than 10 years old, but the bearing in the head is very loose.

I have an old days on dc 19 it works beautifully except for the brush dose not go around I have cleaned the head no luck so please help
Hi Loretta, Thanks for your question. As the turbine head is powered by suction, if there is a blockage of airflow in the head or in the machine, it can cause the turbine head to stop spinning. Please ensure the plunger on the side of the head is in the out position and check the head for blockages, removing the both brush bars and shown via the following links:

hi I am thinking of purchasing a second hand dyson 19 and they are saying the turbo head is broken. Can I get another one anywhere?
Hi Merilyn,the turbo head for the dc19 are obsolete and the is no replacement,very poor for an 8 year old machine.
Hi Merilyn I presume you are referring to the air driven turbo head, not the electrically driven kind. Check out ebay using the search terms Dyson DC 19 Turbo Head, plenty there, but mostly in UK. There is one Australian supplier amongst the offerings, external link . I needed a new motor and filters for my DC 19, which I was able to obtain from a store in Brisbane, after being told by Dyson my machine was "retired" and not fixable. Good Luck

hi there i just purchased a dc19 second hand, i think its about 5 years old but it only came with the hard floor head, just want to know what head tool do i need for the carpet as i know these models are discontinued?
My DC19 came with a Flat Out Floor tool which was for carpets & rugs. It's still available from Dyson.
