The fridge seems to be working but it doesn’t run as per temperature gage everything freezes. Is this an easy fix?

Hi, I have fridge freezer Eva oil fridge mate FM model (great unit) When removing from my vehicle it was wired to battery as suggested by tech, I just cut the wire as I was in a rush, the corded plug has 1 and 2 indicated on it and the dual wire has writing on one and not the other, it appears connecting plug has the wire with writing on it going to side with ‘2’ stamped on it, is this the positive ? Thought I best check . Regards Jeff [details removed]

I suggest you contact Evacool, possibly email a photo to them with the question. I have always found them very helpful.

Re "this fridge is a pile of junk". Has anyone got any ideas on how I can fix it myself? Need help please, don't want to spend any more money on it.

Have no real solution all I can suggest is to put some of those freeze packs they use in eskys in the unit, turn it to Max at night after the unit is reset and hopefully it chills everything down enough that night, because the next day when you start driving again the unit will probably stop working again.

I have cut the 12v wires leading into my EvaKool fridge freezer (70 litre Model FM70-FF ) To run it off my friend's solar system but now, on trying to reconnect on my 12v system I have lost the tape on one of the wires telling me which wire was positive , I don't want to blow up my fridge. As you plug it into the fridge what are the polarities of the left and right wires?

Dave, looks like it will be a 50/50 chance you will get it right. I might have some good news for you but don't take my word on it, the fridge should have reverse polarity detection built in.

positive is always on left on power cords. Maybe left is port "red"
