When was this model discontinued?
I don't know that it has been. It should be discontinued if it hasn't been. Especially the stainless steel on the front.
There is no freezer light - seems odd as other F & P do?
No. There is no light. I found it odd too but you can pull the drawers out so not a real problem.
Recently our ice tray has been freezing up in clumps after the ice drops out, We have emptied multiple times, cleaned and dried before replacing. Does anyone know what the reason for this may be?
The Fisher and paykel French style French 519L style fridge the left door can not open more than half
Have a French door fridge/freezer and the ice maker isn’t working properly. The water doesn’t seem to completely freeze before the tray flips therefore it tips just water into the ice dispenser is there a quick fix ??????
We have just turned our new fridge on today it has been running for about three hours. It is making a humming noise. Is this the normal noise of the fridge? Our last fridge was an LG it made no noise at all. I am hoping this noise will settle down . Thank you.

Is the water from the dispenser actually chilled? This doesn't seem to be the case with some competitor's models in this size bracket.
It is, but it is certainly not as cold as the inside of the fridge. I was measuring temps due to issues with my first fridge, and the interior was around 3-4°C, and the dispenser is around 10°C, and room temperature is over 20°C.
The other thing to note is that the first 50-100ml of dispensed water is warmer, then about 600-700ml of cold-ish water and then it creeps up to room temperature by about 1.5 litres dispensed.
A family member has a larger fridge with full ice & water in the door, and it's water is room temperature and relies on dispensed crushed ice to produce "cold" water.
Since new had only trickle from water dispenser. Ice maker ok . Mains pressure is fully to spec. How do we rectify?
Fridge door handle is loose how do you tighten it, there is a tiny hole but that does nothing. The handle looks like it comes out of the steel plate attached to the door, you can see a screw but cant see where to get to it
I don’t know if it’s a ‘cost saving’ design which is faulty or my particular fridge? Would appreciate others letting me know the measurements of their moveable glass shelves please (F&P rf522). The width from between inner shelving white plastic slots measures 700mm, my glass shelving measures 703mm (outer measurement is 720mm). Effectively, the moveable glass shelves (not shelf above fruit/vege container) are being held in place (particularly at the back) by the tiny clear hard plastic breakable corners, rather than the shelves resting securely along the shelf runner guide. Discovered this when I went to clean the ‘spill proof’ glass shelf and realised the end clear plastic corner holder was broken on a shelf. As the fridge is new it’s possible was delivered in this state, but regardless the clear plastic corners appear to be the type of plastic which will likely become brittle with age. I’d like to clarify if this is just my fridge or a design fault. Thanks for any responses.
Hi,
I just plumbed in my fridge, everything is working well but The water dispenser isn’t very chilled, only slightly colder than tap water. Can the temperature be changed? Thanks
Hi Damien. Have you tried adjusting the controls found on the in side of the right door? Is the ice maker working and ice cubes being produced in the freezer?
Hi, we have just had a F&P french door fridge replaced under warranty due to condensation and water forming on the inside of the fridge. The tech who came on site diagnosed the source of the problem as a small gap between the gasket flaps at the bottom of the fridge section. This was letting air into the fridge which was condensing and forming water drops. We notice that the new fridge also has a slight gap between the flaps of the bottom gasket. Can anyone with this model shed light on this issue? Thanks.
Update: Fisher &Paykel tech came on site 2 weeks ago and did a 'fix on the flaps. That sorted the water droplets inside the fridge compartment, but now we're getting a build up of condensation along the top of the freezer drawer and since yesterday, condensation on the outside of the freezer drawer. It would seem that cold air is escaping from the fridge compartment, which implies that the door seals are faulty. Any feedback from other people would be appreciated. Thanks
What setting are people keeping their fridge set to, we just got this fridge (1 week) and it seems not to be holding coolness within the safe temperature, it is cold if i have it on coldest setting but then it begins to freeze items and still not as cold as the old 18 year old F&P? Had F&P tech come and check it today and he said to set it to middle temp setting which he said is designed for all year around, now temps in fridge are at 5-7 deg, one small water bottle on top shelf records at 4.4 everything else is recording at 5-7 and above and water and drinks are not chilled to that crisp ice cold level that the old fridge managed to achieve. Any advice would be appreciated!
Get Fisher and Paykel to have it checked. My fridge was not cold enough and it was replaced after 4 weeks.
F&P are not doing anything about our fridge (8 weeks now) they claim there is nothing wrong with it even though we have fluctuating temperatures within fridge, from very cold then dropping to warm of its own accord, things freezing then defrosting, we have had condensation and water drops forming on back panel of fridge! Last technician sticky taped a small piece of foam behind inside back panel of fridge said sometimes these things are forgotten during manufacturing!? Our fridge is a lemon F&P technicians are not qualified to find the fault! We are in process of putting in a claim with consumer affairs, F&P have not resolved our issue nor do they seem to care nor have responded to our numerous requests to speak to senior management! We have thrown out so much food that has spoiled due to this issue! They told us to lodge a food loss claim 3 weeks ago, yes you guessed it no response to that either!
I puchased the fridge in 2016. Recently the LH door has become hard to open, requiring considerably more force than the RH door. The hinge is not stiff, rather it feels like there's a big elastic band pulling the door closed. If I let go of the door, it slams shut. Is there some sort of tensioning device in the hinge or internal to the door and , if so, is there an adjustment? TIA.
I can’t help you there Pete.....get on to Fischer & Paykel and get them to fox it .....

Does the water dispenser need to be plumbed in?
Does the water dispenser need to be plumbed in?
Hi. No. I didn’t connect mine up for a while. When I did, Also didn’t bother with the filter since they need regular replacement that I don’t have time for. Hope that helps.
Thanks, but I found the specs and it does need to be plumbed in.
