Goldline GL4 Questions & Answers
Best 7kg front loader with inverter motor most energy efficient and water efficient
Reviews for this product are terrible, but it's the only slimline cooktop (45cm depth) that will fit my counter. Anyone know of another?
Hello! yes the reviews on Goldline cook top are very bad. because the cooktops are poorly made, very old in parts and design and nerly all of it comes from the cheapest china factorys. They claim australian made but infact they are not. some final putting together and assembly and into the boxes is done in australia but all of the critical parts is just the cheapest costing from china. Goldline's quality control is non existent and they really are just selling boxes for $$$. During the time of my ordeal with them and goldline cooktops I saw many times people leave terrible negative reviews on their own website. but they just quickly delete these reviews off the site so the public cant see or read them. Pretty appalling really. like many others I strongly suggest you avoid any Goldline cooktop at all costs. Buyer beware!!
You may need to bite the bullet and either re-cut your existing benchtop, or get a cabinet maker to cut a trim/lip or also look at products like Kleenmaid etc that also do narrow cooktops that are suitable. Good luck.
Thank you for the advice. I'll definitely avoid Goldline.
Very poor reviews. Thanks guys will look at other products for my stupid slim line cooktop.
Hmmm. I was going to buy one of these but after reading there reviews am not sure I will risk it.....
Please do not buy it. Its such a cheap quality project. You can't even simmer your food as the gas burners are so high, even with the smaller burners. The look of it in less than a year looks like we've had it for years. It wasn't cheap either. Don't waste your money.
Thank you so much. Will definitely not be purchasing this one.
There aren't many that are narrow - which is what I am needing and the 450 depth was appealing.
I am having the same issue with finding a narrow unit to fit into my existing space of a Tudor Gas Cooktop. I was looking at buying the Goldline but after reading these reviews I will give this product a miss. I did find another slimline brand Fisher & Paykel 3 burner gas cooktop in black which is 90 x 45 cm.
Why does the burners slow down when more then i burner is turned on?
Nisha, I don't have that problem with mine. Maybe you could contact the manufacturer or the store you purchased it from.
Gas supply pressure too low by the sound of it.
Is this cooktop useful for asian type of cooking?
Hi Kavi I cook korma & curry on this cooktop all the time. My daughter has a large wok with which she cooks stir fry & other E. Asian dishes. The Goldline has one specially wok-adapted burner iron, the other large burner takes large cook pots.
As well, this cooker is really suitable for confined cooking areas.
We love this cook top, great to cook on, easy to keep clean, a great buy!
Really, do get one, you'll have no regrets!
Hope this helps!

Hi I am interested to get a gloldline gas cooktop model gl4ssn so can u hel me and contact me my cut in the kitchen is 87by 38 so this the closes cut I can get isn't it pl keep in touch regards Saeed
I've got the specifications for the cut-out for the Goldline GL4N, my own model, the tray for which is 40 x 88 cm - I'm guessing the 4B/4W have the same tray size. My specs indicate that the cut out should be 5 mm above the tray size - so 405 x 885 mm.
Now, I did my own install up to the gas fitting, and I wanted a tight fit - so I made a cut out of 402 x 882, which was nearly right - and sanded out about another mm to get a perfect fit.
I'd say therefore that 403 x 883 mm is the minimal cut-out you can use. So if the largest cut out you can make is 380 x 870 mm, I think you'd better not buy this model, unfortunately. There are Goldline 2 burners with a 34 x 66 cm tray - the GL2N for example. If you can live with 2 burners I'd recommend something like that size. By the way, the Goldline is a great cooktop, especially for those of us with confined space issues!
Hope helpful!
