We had a 9kg model and that had the wrong dispenser installed in the factory. It was not an auto dispenser model and the additional holes in the dispenser poured water over the floor on a fill! So it maybe that you have the wrong dispenser installed. They replaced the machine with a 10kg model and now all seems good. I gathered this a known problem. Best of luck. Andy

I just got the 9kg in this machine and my auto dose isn't working either which is frustrating because this is a replacement from another machine I bought 2 weeks ago. So I've possibly now just gone through 2 faulty machines in 2 weeks!

I have the 10kg model as well and I havbe done 20 wash cycles without the smart dosing ever working. Did you find a solution to your problem?

We bought the 10kg, it had done quite a few loads and the auto dispenser isn't working either. I tried diluting the concentrate 50% with water but it hasn't helped. If I empty the tray the bottle symbol flashes, so it knows if it has liquid in it or not.

Update: I called Haier customer service. They told me to monitor it over the month to make sure auto dose isn’t working (as it takes very little detergent). I did. It doesn’t work! I rang again. They sent a technician out. He said he replaces these a lot (not brand specific). Most of the time the pump that draws the detergent from the draw is faulty (even from new). He usually just replaces the draw and pump, but due to it being new, I’m getting a new washing machine.

Is your new washing machine working good now? Have you got the same model replaced?

I have the same issue - smart dosing. Machine replaced but no difference. Will return again and get a Samsung this time.

I thought the new machine wasn't working either. Technician came back, said it is working. HOWEVER, the machine does not like liquid from the bottle! You have to water it down to get the consistency that it likes. That's right WTH. So even though it does apparently work, I do not use this function.

Unbelievable Tegan S. So watering down the detergents and conditioner is the only way to get it to work. I am not sure I am convinced. My hOn app on my mobile still says I have no detergent or conditioner before very wash even when the compartments are filled to the max with either detergent and conditioner or almost pure water. Anyway, I have agreement from Haier to uplift and refund my 2nd machine so it's off to Samsung for me. I wish good luck to everyone else with this problem and thank you for the information contributed above.
