My 1120 is leaking at internal hose connection, is there a way I can fix this Lance
Hi Lance, it will depend on the age of the unit. If there is a click fitting from the hose into the unit, this can be repaired or replaced. If not, it may not be fixable. You are welcome to call us directly for assistance on 1300 716 188. Thank you, your Holman Team!
Thanks guys, the unit is about 5 years and yes it has a click fitting and would think that it's the Orings that have gone hard. The question is can these be replaced and what are the tricks in do so. Cheers, Lance
How do I slightly reduce the tension in the unit to make it less difficult to pull out.
Hello Tony S. The tension is set in these units. They are spring driven. That spring is tensioned and then sealed. Unfortunately, it cannot be adjusted. Anything further, you are welcome to call us direct on 1300 716 188. Thank you, your Holman Team!
Holman 20m has a split hose next to the bracket at the fully extended end of the hose so inside the housing. This is the new version so hose can’t be replaced. I’m very disappointed as it’s not very old. I have a second one not quite as old still working. These are not suitable for New Zealand as we have a very strong UV light and the plastic cases have deteriorated considerable due to exposure to the harsh sunlight. I will have to replace it with a UV resistant model. Not recommended.
My Holman 20m retractable hose appears to have retracted its last retract. I have tried all of the options to repair and it seems that the spring mechanism is Kaput.. In the process of trying I have pulled the hose out to its limit and there is no tension in the spring. Am I missing a simple instruction or is it time to buy a replacement? It would be great to not have to spend again.
Hello Jay C, if the hose is all the way out, you can give it a few short, sharp tugs to see if you can reengage the spring. If the spring is damaged or lost tension, it is not able to be repaired. Warranty on these units is 2-years. We do hope this helps and if you need anything further, please contact us directly at service@holmanindustries.com.au Thank you, your Holman Team!
I have a Holman 30m hose reel that makes a buzzing sound when the water is running. Has anybody else had this issue?
Yes I have this issue as well on a 20m hose reel. Only just installed on the weekend. Never had this with a hose reel before. Although I have Hoselinks in other areas & no buzz sound. Is it a fault? It's a bit annoying I have to say.
Hi Phil, Sorry to hear your disappointed with your Holman reel, it could be an error or a hammer, hard to say. Please contact us directly for support on 1300 716 188. Thank you, your Holman Team!
Have 4 holman auto retractable hoses. 2 x1120H and 2 x1130H. All about 4 yrs old and spring has now failed on 3 of them and no means to repair. Not sure this is equipment is fit for purpose. Definitely not recommended unless they can be repaired.
Hi Chris, for product support, kindly call us directly on 1300 716 188. Thank you, your Holman Team!
So I contacted Holman Team as requested but the response was they are outside of warranty so nothing to add to my review.
Hi Chris, our team are still waiting for you to get back in contact with the batch numbers from your units, we cannot assist if you do not call us!
I also have 3 30 meter Holman hoses which have all failed just outside then warranty period. I would warn everyone not to buy them. I returned one that failed during the warranty period but that also subsequently failed.
Can I replace the hose it busted after 2 months
Can the belt be replaced on a Holman 20 the belt that is connected to the screw has frayed
Meaning the hose will only retract into one part of the reel essentially jamming.

The retractable hose feed mechanism which feeds the hose onto the reel does not move which results in the hose being fed onto the reel all in one place. How can this feeder be rectified?

The locking mechanism on my hose reel no longer latches. Can this be repaired? If so how can I get this done? Thanks David
Hi David F, thank you for your query. We are sorry to say that is the locking mechanism or spring fails in your unit, it is not able to be repaired. Please be aware that your unit does have a 2-year replacement warranty. Thank you. your Holman Team!
My hose reel is about 5 years old and recently only retracting about 90% of the hose, so I pulled the hose most of the way out and sprayed the insides with WD40. Now it won’t retract any of the hose.
Your spring mechanism is probably broken. These are not replaceable. Time to buy a new one. 5 years is a good run with these.
Spring mech unwinded itself when you pull the hose out. It will eventually happen after it aged to a certain degree. It is not fixable. Get a manual wind one instead of the spring auto rewind one, I recom it will last longer.
Hi Ken, if the hose is the full way out, grab a hold and give it a few short, sharp tugs to get the spring re engaged, this should help. Thank you, your Holman Team!
My 20m hose does not stay out and is in retraction all the time. Any suggestions or help pleasae..

Can you buy the retractable spring for a holman 20
Hello Frank F. We are sorry but the internal spring is not available as a spare part. This is tensioned and sealed and can cause harm if incorrectly handled. Thank you, your Holman Team!
Our Holman 20 retractable hose has been working pretty well but we’ve been having trouble just lately. Seems as if the hose is winding at an opposite angle to the hose guide. It’s got out of kilter with the hose guide and not winding evenly making it hard to pull out.
Hi JenniferM, you can try a little maintenance by pulling the hose out and lubricating the guide with either dry or water based lubricant and reel the hose back in. If this is the guide that is failing, we may have it avaliable as a spare part depending on the age of the unit. for further assistance, you are welcome to contact us directly on 1300 716 188 or service@holmanindustries.com.au
The lock mechanism in Holman (20m) is not working, how to fix it?
We're sorry to hear you are having problems with your retractable unit. While some parts in the units can be repaired or replaced, other parts such as the locking mechanism and internal spring are not serviceable - this is for safety reasons. We do offer replacement on units that fail within the 2 year warranty period. For product support, please contact us directly at service@holmanindustries.com.au
The hose reel is leaking internally, not from the hose. Please advise. Ron

I just installed my 20m retractable hose reel. I can't get the hose to lock when I pull it out. It retracts OK. What can I do to fix it?
Not really sure, but my 30m was fine for 3 months then stopped retracting, I contacted Holman and they replaced it immediately
Thank you Dave. I will contact Holman.
Good day. My husband purchased me a 20m Holman Hose. It is now just over a year and the brake on the unit stopped working. Any idea how I can fix it ? We purchased it from Bunnings, Porirua and it was a Christmas gift from my husband. It was not the cheapest retractable available in the market and we thought the Holden name would be reliable. Any ideas on how I can repair it ? Regards,
