I dont want to spend $149 on a whole new hose set . I dont want to just throw it away and put more rubbish into the bin.. consumerism really gets up my nose. Hoover can you please tell me where just to get the power connector clamp fitting the vacuum from the hose ? Cheers Adam

how do you stop the cord from creaping in or rewinding. It wont latch. The Coreplus model. Or tell me how to open it up. I cant find the "secret"I have repaired many machines but this one got me licked
Hi Bernie, It sounds as through the may be an issue with the cored retract in the machine. We would recommend taking the machine into your nearest Godfreys store to be inspected. Regards, The Hoover Team
Can you buy the canister separately?
Can you suck water with it or will it brack?
Jon if your Hoover Core Plus is not a Wet/Dry style of vacuum cleaner I would not attempt to suck water with it. There are vacuum cleaners specifically designed as a Wet/Dry cleaner that will do what you want it to do without
causing damage to the vacuum cleaner.
If I had a Hoover Core Plus I would not try to suck water using it as you are likely to damage it.
Regards, Arthur.
Thanks
The instruction manual says you should wash the HEPA filter but says nothing about the circular filter - how does one clean that? Erica
Dear Erica, To clean the large circular filter I use compressed air with the air gun pressure set low e.g. 25psi and point the filter away from yourself to avoid getting covered in dust. If you don't have a small compressor then a small dust brush can be used to lightly brush the filter with the direction of the vanes of the paper. NEVER brush across the vanes as this will damage them and the filter will require replacement. Also lightly brush out the filter housing if you don't have an air gun to blow out the unit.
I regularly clean the complete unit with the air gun thereby making sure it performs to its best.
Hopefully my answer has given you a method by which to care for your unit. Regards, Arthur.
Like Aurthur suggested, low pressure air or even gentle tapping and soft brush. I wash the foam filter after each vacuum but only do the circular filter about monthly.

does the hover core plus blow air as well?
no, only sucks
how do i empty and clean the cannister?
The only way to really clean this unit is to dismantle it and give it a good wash and dry use a philips screwdriver and carefully remove screws from inner unit noting how it comes apart from memory there are about 12 small screws to remove; once you;ve done it once it becomes quite easy although it is fiddly if that sounds to daunting try blowing it out with an airline although i found this not really satisfactory as the unit has hundreds off small holes and they tend to block Try not to spend money on this unit as its failure rate is quite high; read the write up;s and avoid spending to much coin;;' hope this helps
When I turn it on the motor makes a noise like there is a piece of paper or something stuck in it. It makes the noise without the hose connected so it is not a blockage in the hose. Can you help please?
Make sure you clean the foam filter as well as the main dust collector.
unfortunately my hoover did this shortly before bursting into smoke and dying ;I am not a electrician so cannot give you a definitive answer so get it checked out Warning////// read the feedback on repairs services hoover vacuums and avoid at all cost's the most featured and probably the biggest repair service as they skirt very close to breaking consumer law and will rip you off without thinking twice, and make you wait for the privilege
thanks for those responses. Unfortunately I think the $700 I paid for this vaccuum cleaner 3 and a half years ago was a waste of money. I have had much cheaper machies that have lasted for years and years!!!
The power cord on my Hoover Core passed the red mark and do not wind back. is there any thing I can do to fix it?
I'm not a repair technician, but I would say you may have broken the mechanism that re-winds the cord. Take it in for repairs would be my suggestion.
Our Hoover Core simply powers down. I immediately switch on and it runs for 1-2 minutes then powers down again. It is not over heating as it feels cool and is the catcher cylinder is not full.
unfortunately it;s time to get your wallet out;; depending how old ' it is time to replace read the hoover reviews and avoid the major repair company featured in most reviews as they will rip you off and make you wait for the privilege;' if you got more than two years count yourself very lucky and like me research your next purchase very carefully and purchase from a store that cares about it reputation
