Hi there I'm looking for a VC358N Hygiene plus hepa filter... Does anyone stock these anymore? Thanks
Hey Rebecca, Thanks for your query. We have checked our stock for a replacement heap filter but unfortunately these are no longer being manufactured by the supplier and have been discontinued. We no longer have any stock of the filter. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience – unfortunately with older machines, it can be tricky to try access parts.

Regarding the Hoover Hygiene powerhead - does anyone have a powerhead in good working order they would like to sell to me please? Mine has died and I'm looking for a replacement. I have had multiple problems with this machine I purchased from Godfreys including, overheating, shutting down, hose getting blocked etc ..... but I'm hoping to make it last a wee bit longer as it was very expensive to buy
Sorry, I don't. They are for sale on ebay at around $190 if you can't find a secondhand one. Seems like that would be the full price. The shutting down is to prevent overheating, I assume. I just do a couple of rooms each day at a slow pace instead of trying to deep clean the whole house at once. I do find that the hose gets blocked if I try to vaccuum paper/cardboard pieces the kids leave lying around. But all vacuums do that. If you want to give the place a once over before guests come or something maybe try using the regular head and turn the suction down a bit just to get the visible stuff. Works for me, but then I'm allergic to dust so I have to use it everyday anyway.
The motor stopped suddenly - any suggestions on cause?
Iris, this was withdrawn from the market, my experience is it was a terrble, unreliable vacuum and I could not get satisfactory service or follow up from any of the businesses that sold it. Including Godfreys. I am sorry this has happened but I am not surprised. Check that no water got in to the motor; check that the fly wheel on the foot has not fallen off. Ultimately the best thing I think you can do for yourself is return it and ask for a credit for a new cleaner if it is still under warranty, or get a new cleaner if it is out of warranty. Once these machines start causing problems it never, ever ends. I know so many people who would say the same thing. I have just purchased a shark navigator off the tv; you can pay in installments; it is light; it is powerful and it is light years ahead of the hoover. I would recommend looking at that if you can afford it. Love the dog by the way!
if it is motorised head check the plug is fully inserted, also could have broken a belt. if it is the barrel unit i have no solution other than take it to a repairer
Mine would suddenly stop when the motor overheated. After turning it off and letting it cool down for quite a while it would start up again when switched on. This happens a lot!
would like to find an instruction manual for this as I appear to have lost it...I have a blocked tube and am looking for a reverse switch...what can I do?
If it is very blocked a reverse switch will not help much. I remove the pipe and push a broom handle up the opposite direction for my blocks. If it is in the bent area a garden hose works well too. Good luck.
