Hoover Regal Questions & Answers
I have Hoover Regal, and recently the motor has been making loud noises. Does anyone know of a service for this vac cleaner in either Melbourne or Sydney, as Hoover does not officially repair anything in Australia? I like this model, so I'd like to do this at a lower cost.
Hi Maks, I had a similar problem to what you have and the guys in Melbourne actually, I don't know if that makes any difference for you, a company called Janitorial Depot was amazing, fixed my machine, sorted out the problem, was absolutely amazing to deal with those people. external link
I have a plastic bag stuck at the hand held end of pipe, I have tried a coat hanger with no success, can I undo the screws on end of pipe?
I have problem solved my issue I got a flexible drain cleaner put some gafa tape around so it was sticky on the outside... put my hand on flexible pipe so I didn't push the bag further down. The bag stuck to the gaffa tape and I slowly and successfully pulled it out. The bag was stuck at the hand held end of pipe...
My Hoover Regal Powehead has stopped working. The power seemed to short out and now it's stopped completely. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have the bagged Hoover regal and when I vacuum it gets clogged the the last curved in the pipe I take the ends out put the other end in the vacuum but how do I take the house apart so I can fix the clog ?
The brush doesn’t spin, we have checked no blockages, just seems the main head is not working. Any suggestions?
Hi Marcia, If the powerhead is turning on and the brushes are not rotating the belt may have broken and needs replacement. If the head is not turning on at all there may be an issue with the motor or power connections. The machine can be taking into your nearest Godfreys store for further inspection and assistance. Regards, The Hoover Team
Where do I get the belt replaced now that Godfreys are gone?
Hi, I bought the Hoover Regal today and used the Diverter. Now I can't unattach the diverter. Is there a trick to that?
Hi Toastless, I'd like to try and help if I can, but I don't know what the Diverter is! Can you post a picture?
No trick, they’re always stiff at first, try wiggling it up and down ever so slightly to release the mechanism whilst still holding in the release button, it will take a few goes for the mechanisms to wear in and it will get much easier
Could I please ask whether these reviewers received a reward for their review on this particular Hoover model? Doesn’t show in the statistics.
Hi Kim, I just received your question in an email from Product Review, so thought I would quickly reply to you as you may still be online. No, I did not receive any reward for my review of this vacuum cleaner. I have written a couple of other reviews (not something I do often) and have never received any type of reward. I wouldn't mind if I did, though! As for this vacuum cleaner, having used it now for over a year, I can still say it cleans very well - better than any other machine I have had. The only downside is that it's a bit cumbersome to pull around and, as careful as I try to be, I've scraped it on corners way too many times. My original plan was to buy an upright and sometimes wish I had, but this vacuum is very good in all other respects. Hope this helps.
No Kim, have never received a reward for the reviews I post (I have to really LOVE something to write a review on it too)
:-) Thank you both so much for your replies. Very much appreciated. Kim
I could see productreview asks when you leave a review whether you received a giftcard or reward, and is in their terms for retailers to do so, but it would be good if consumers are aware when that was the case. It was the only model I’d looked at that of the 6 reviews so far, all categories were 5 star, so thought would just ask the question. Thank you again :-)
My vacume is not sucking properly and a red light comes on .it's not blocked I have checked everything. Emptyed the cylinder and cleaned the filter.
I did not realise that there is the additional foam filter on top of the canister. I cleaned this and my red light went off and sucked better.
Hi Helen, This light indicates when the motor is not getting enough air flow, this is usually caused by a blockage in the machine. Blockages can occur in the head, rod, hose, canister and filters. The filters may also be due for replacement, it is recommended to replace the filters every 6-12 months, depending on use. If you have checked the whole machine, are unable to locate any blockages, have changed the filter and are still experiencing issues, we recommend taking the machine into you nearest Godfreys store for further inspection. I had nothing but trouble with this model. What you are describing is what kept happening with mine. I had to get pointed pliers to get the dust out from under the filter on top of the canister. Where there’s lots of holes, leading to the filter. So annoying! I’ve now purchased a Dyson.
The worst vacuume. It’s a scam, by Godfreys. They need to be reported to the accc. I had two Dyson, for thirty years. Went to Godfreys....wish I hadn’t, and got scammed into a Regal I’m demanding a refund. It’s utter crap.
Having same prob with mine , I reckon a $300 vacuum would suck better, and yes the Godfrey man talked us into it, have already taken it back once for not sucking and found out about filter in lid will wait and see if it makes a difference but think will just use it to clean car and buy a Dyson
can the hoover be adapted to blow
Hi Karen, Unfortunately the Hoover Regal Bagless 9011PH does not have a blower function and is unable to be modified for this. Regards, The Hoover Team
How do I get the power head stick off the hose? So I can use attachments. So Hard I Have the top line Regal with bag 9100
How do I get the power head stick off the hose? So I can use attachments. So Hard.
There will be a button you hold in whilst pulling and slighting twisting the rod back and forth, depending how many times you have pulled it off previously will depend how ‘hard’ it is. If it’s never been pulled off before naturally it will be more stiff and wear down and be easier the more you use it.
Thank you. Only off twice. But a man had to come over to do it!
Got it off!!!!! Yea!! Thank you Jordierr
where can I report this hoover regal vacuum machine for its unsatisfying performance? Godfreys Joondalup refuse to fix under warranty- just had machine for 8 mths, worse machine ever! waiste of $950.00. Im very disappointed in this product, was convinced moon and stars its the best bagged machine while we only wanted bagless. Now we sitting with a product we not able to use but still paying it, how the store's repair technicians refuse to fix under warranty. ive used the machine so little and right now im being told I haven't. not happy and very unsatisfied service.
I feel your pain. They are hopeless. You should take them to Fair Trading. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/miele-c3 I got a Miele C3. Absolutely fantastic. NO BLOCKAGES.Great suction on all surfaces.reputable brand. Look at these fantastic reviews compared to Hoovers.
Hi we bought the regal Hoover just 7mths ago and started having problems with it, since under warrantee we send it where we bought it they returned it without fixing it, said I used it not according manufacture instruction. That’s completely not true- where can I send my vacuum to for repairs? The suction is weak- spit dirt out, power button cuts out power. Pls help where do I send other than Godfrey’s Joondalup ?
I have a Regal and twice the lights on the power head have failed. Once after a month and when replaced, after two weeks. The cleaner has not been 'abused' in any way infact if anything it is treated with loving care as the cost was great. has anyone else had a similar problem?
Yes the vacuum is a waste of money. The vacuum does not work. When we brought the vacuum we were advised it was a fantastic , but the suction is appalling , it does nor pick up anything on wooden floors and just shoots it out. If you move from wooden floor to carpet the brush head clogs up and has to be cleaned . A terrible piece of equipment , just a waste of money.
Thank you, Jack. for your comments. However I am still at loss to find out if anyone has had the same problems as I have had with the lights. Apart from the lights I find this cleaner very, very good. I have 6 cats and a parrot that make their share of the cleaning needed.
Hi our Hoover regal is not sucking up dirt like it used to the filters are spotless I clean them out why compressor it sounds exactly the same just no suction is it worth trying to get it fixed or will it be something major and expensive cheers
Hi Steve, Loss of suction can be caused by blockages, these can occur in the head, rod, hose, canister and filters. It is also recommended to replace the filters every 6-9 months, depending on use. If you are unable to locate any blockages and the filters have been replaced in the last 6-9 months, we would recommend taking the machine into your nearest Godfreys store for further inspection and assistance. Please see the below link for further details on repair and quotes through Godfreys. external link Regards, The Hoover Team
