My Hoover vortex pro is the best vac I’ve ever had but I had the battery reconditioned (because you don’t make them anymore) and it works beautifully for 5 mins then slows down and does not suck. Please help me

I managed to buy a new battery... Not sure if U can still do that.... However, I had the same problem.... Now I just press the torbo ( carpet button) and it stays on ! Hope this helps

I brought mine thru Mydeals ... I think it was about $99 ... fast delivery and I've had the new battery for 2 yrs now I think and it hasn't missed a beat ! Still only last 30mins tho

I love mine Hoover Vortex Pro!. Use it on low usually for 15 mins & high for 5 mins - every 2 days. Now after almost 4 yr., the motor cuts out after 5 secs (on high) but I can use it on low for my 10 min. Does this indicate that the battery needs changing? i.e. do I expect to change the battery every 4 years despite it charging well & charging normally? Filter is clean & recently changed. Or is the vacuum cleaner defective and so I need to replace it? Grateful for advice. Warm regards, Lea Thin

Yes, I'd buy a new battery. I brought mine thru MyDeals around $100. I read the directions this time and I keep it on charge and turned on 24/7..... I never use the 2nd setting as it's not required really. Level 1 setting is strong enough for my home. I only have 2 room with carpet and find level 1 works perfect. Level 2 drains the battery very quickly. The battery never lasts more then 30 mins... I think that's why they stop making these cleaners

My vortex pro starts on low,but going to full power it goes for a little while and stops. This keeps doing the same many times and then comes right, what's the problem?

Yes, mine does the same. It starts and the light is green and then after maybe less than a minute the light changes to red and it stops. Turn it back on and the light is green again and the same thing happens. Turn it on again and possibly it will keep going this time. I have no idea why this happens so all in all I just don't use it. This power loss seems to be related to the battery. Even when fully charged, on full power turbo only lasts about 10secs. A new one costs over $100!

Hi My Hoover vortex turns off after 10 secs or less and then will start again and do the same thing, I have checked and cleaned everything possible, tested battery and shows full charge, Rarely used but out of warranty, This seems to be a common problem with the machine, is it a lemon?

If you are not getting these runtimes then we would recommend taking the machine and charger into your nearest Godfreys store to be booked in for further inspection and resolution. I have a Vortex Pro that runs for 31 minutes on low power with nothing attached ie stick or dust bin. When running on high power, it runs for 20 seconds then cuts out. I press the trigger and it runs again for 20 seconds ad infinitum. I've called Hoover who only offer "Send it in for assessment". Not good enough for an item that I paid $500 for. It's obviously not the battery or a blockage so an initial diagnosis over the phone should be possible. What to do now???

This is the same rhetoric I received from the call centre and Godfrey's. They told me it was probably the battery and that diagnosis is wrong. It's going in the bin along with your reputation.

I am having a similar problem with the cleaner working for about 30 seconds on high and then stops. Will work longer on low power but then runs out of power altogether. I will take it to Godfrey’s for a check but I doubt if I will buy another Hoover product as this one was expensive and has had minimal use in the 3 years we have had it. I have had lesser known vacuum cleaners that are much cheaper and lasted much longer without costly maintenance.

Hi Since purchasing (about a year ago), the red/green recharge light has sporadically stayed off. After switching the power-point on the wall on and off a few times, it seems to reset the unit, and the red/green light illuminates again. However, it has become more frequent, and is now at the point where the light is extinguished more times than it actually works, when returning the vacuum to the recharge cradle. Can you please advise what I should do. Thanks in advance

My Hoover Vortex Pro Stick, fully charged, runs for a short period then sounds like it is ceasing up and stops. It restarts but then the same thing happens. It has been cleaned, rollers and dust compartment. Any suggestions. Very annoying. Rose.

Just went to use my hoover vortex pro and its not charged and wont charge.What is the battery life on this before I have to pay for a new battery.I would have thought it would last at least as long as the warranty after spending $600 on it.Not Happy!!

The battery for this machine does come with a 12 month warranty. why does my Hoover Vortex Pro keep cutting out? I was told there was a split in the hose - whole powerhead had to be replaced. This didn't fix the problem. Of course it's just a few months outside warranty. I paid a lot of money for this rubbish machine.

Same, it was a lot of money for not a very good machine -- cuts out - just out of warranty, also the issue with emptying the dust, such a hassle, pulling each piece apart and having to brush all sections, so I bought a Dyson instead, should I sell the vortex pro... giving someone else a dud, dreadful design, dreadful battery time and a waste of money, $600 down the drain.

We have had this machine for 30 months without any issues. The small flexible hose in the power head has split. Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement hose so as I van fix the problem.

I'm pretty sure godfreys keeps a record of all your transactions for 8 yrs. Calling another godfreys store may put you on the right path. I'm not going to five any legal advice for consumer law regading this.
