Jura Impressa C5 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: EPD1155007The drip tray of my Jura C5 is filling up with water every few weeks. There is still ample coffee being dispensed so it's not resulting in weak coffee, just becoming a pain to clean. For reference, my machine is approaching 10 years old but has been very well taken care of and used consistently the entire time. I took the outside panels off yesterday and didn't notice any water near the motor or heating units on the left side of the machine. Any thoughts would be great!

Hello , in Jura C5 water during first rinsing in the morning does not come from the coffe spouts . Instead milk frotter is blinking and after turning it anticlockwise some hot water comes out. After this express is ready for use. On the other hand any other rinsing cycle goes well without any troubles. Will be very apreciated for any help?

We have had our Jura Impressa C5 for 5 +/- years and love it. Recently it won’t wake up from standby mode after pressing the dial. Unplugging and replugging to power cord or turning unit’s power switch off and on causes it to operate properly. This happens a couple times each week. We use the unit at least two times per day, at morning and lunch time. Any ideas on why it occasionally won’t wake up from standby?
This is the third time I have entered the question but it is not there when I look for my question/answer. Don’t know why.
We have had our Impressa C5 for many years without any problems. We often use the hot water switch for frothing milk. Recently, this switch has become very hard to turn: we have to grab it by a towel and apply a lot of force. What is going wrong? Thank you!
Hello, We just got the jura c5 and i was wondering is there no automatic standby?
Our goes into automatic standby after two hours of unuse. That is the pre-set time. You can reprogram this time. One of the options is to never go to standby. Sounds like yours may be set to never shut off. Read paragraph 8b. on page 13 of your Operating Instruction Manual for directions for setting the auto-off time.
I bought a used Jura Impressa C5 and it seems to work fine. There is no filter in it though -- I do not have hard water and don't think I would need a filter -- can I use it with no filter or will that create a problem with the machine?
Filters are cheap I would have one
If you don’t use a filter, I don’t, then you must descale the machine regularly. I’ve had mine for years and use it daily.
The water pump on my Impressa C5 keeps running as soon as it is turned on and pumps all of the water into the grounds tray. Any help would be much appreciated.
Find the local service centre and have pump fixed
Dear 2905joel, Thank you for your question and apologies for any inconvenience this may of caused. Ra is correct it will need to go to the local service centre if you email your details to support2@au.jura.com we will advise the nearest service centre.

I received my Jura C5 Impressa about five years ago as a gift from a friend and love it. Use it every morning, de-scale it as instructed and maintain the machine. Recently, however, it has been regularly leaking clear water from the bottom. Does anyone know the cause of this and can I fix it?
Dear Alley Cat 46. Thank you for your question, there could be a couple of reason why this is happening, if need to check the water tank is leaking please fill with water tank and leave the tank on the bench over night if there no puddle of water from the machine these a hose loose and if there a leak from tank you will need to purchase a new tank. it doesn't sound like any blockages as it wouldn't be clear water.
Kind Regards

Our machine recently started leaking as well. I researched how to open the case then watched where the water came from. It was the membrane regulator pump. This seems to be the most common culprit. The part was about $40 and I replaced it yesterday. The machine is making great coffee this morning
HI. My name is Kathy. Have had this machine for years. Love it. Purchased one for a friend also and she also loves it. How do I adjust the water temp to make the coffee a little hotter? Ta.
Dear Kathy thank you for your question, on the C5 the temp is pre-selected so you cannot change the temp settings. You can try to re-program the machine EG increase coffee and decrease the milk and pre-heat the cups.
if you need any assistance please email us on support@au.jura.com or call 1300 285 872 and we will ensure its resolved.

The water light is showing even though reservoir is full, Any ideas? thanks
Not sure. Sorry. We have now upgraded our machine to a newer Jura.
Check the floating magnet is not stuck inside the water tank.
Hi my Jura C5 all of a sudden doesn't make coffee any longer. After warming up, when I press the switch for the rinsing, the water doesn't flow from the coffee outflow but from the milk steamer. The same happens when I try to prepare a coffee. Any idea?
Dear Valerio, Thank you for your question, please remove the drip tray with a damp cloth please place the cloth where the drip tray sits feel up there is a flap that moves forward please move forward and remove all the old coffee grounds this is called the shower head, Once cleaned please test the machine

Our Jura C5 coffee machine is shorting out, tripping out the kill switch on the main switch board. What could possibly causing this malfunction?
I had a similar problem with my Jura S9. It turned out to be an internal water leak shorting the wires. $395.00 later, its all fixed. Its likely that if machine is causing your circuit board to trip out, water leakage will be involved. I hope that helps
I tried to descale the machine Jura impressa C5 using manual, but pressing descale button three lights flashed and nothing else happened. I found in web that I have to deactivate filter first (no one word in manual that descaling will not work when filter is not deactivated, no one world in manual how to deactivate it ). So I have two question: 1. Why this product (not cheap) has so poor manual?. 2. How could I activate/deactivate filter to enable descaling? Thank you. I am really not happy using this machine.
Call Jura. I'm only a customer.
If you do manage to get it to descale, make sure you use only the recommended descaling product. I used an aftermarket citrus based descaler, and it wrecked the pump. I thought when it said in the manual to use only the Jura product, it was just a con to get you to buy their product. Apparently not.
I am sure you have either figured this out or moved on. For those of you that are still wondering how to deactivate your filter on Impressa C5 follow these steps. While in Standby mode (powered on but not in coffee making mode)
Hold down Filter button until three lights around the Control knob come on.
Turn the knob to the left (counterclockwise) until the lights around the knob go out.
Push the knob and release.
Power up the machine.
You will now be able to descale by holding the descale button down and following the steps in the manual.
The outflow seems to be blocked on one side. Less and less coffee was coming out the right (when I am standing in front of it) nozzl and now it dried up completely. Anyone out there with a solution to this? I live in Zimbabwe so no use telling me to bring it to a service centre. :)
Dear Rita,
Thank you for your question, if you can kindly email support2@au.jura.com I will happy to forward you information on how to get your coffee machine working.
Kind Regards

Clean the spouts with the little brush that comes with the machine.
The ' bean container' light keeps on flashing on the maintenance board although the beans are full, please explain..?
Dear SD Jones, Thank you for your question, The beans light flashing even when the beans are full, this would mean that there is a problem with the grinder unable to grind the beans, you would require a repair to rectify this problem.
Very Kind regards,
Jura Customer support team.
