I’m wondering why Miele don’t supply decals. They rub off with cleaning. I would have thought this was a safety issue??

Miele
Miele   DM

Thank you for your question. Miele do not supply decals for cooktops or any of its appliances. We are unable to supply these due to Miele Quality and Safety Standards not allowing this practise. These standards are set in place as there is no control over the placement of the decals if sold separately, therefore presenting a potential safety risk to users. If a decal was placed incorrectly on a gas cooktop, there is a risk of gas being left on or burning/ fire from an unexpected large flame. The markings on our cooktops comply with the relevant standards in terms of durability; when the cleaning directions contained within the product documentation are followed the markings are expected to last the life of the product.

Anyone got a cheaper alternative to the expensive knobs? Will any fit? What a disappointment this stove top is. Cooking a large pot of soup and two knobs have melted. Would avoid Miele like the plague from now on and buy a quality product with space between the flame and plastic knobs.

Good afternoon Kelly, Miele has replied to your email.

Is there a reset button for my Miele km 2012 g?

Ants got inside the jets and now the flame max is only a fraction of the original output on two burners. How do you safely clear upstream of the burner jets.

I have a Miele KM2012 the R/H front gas burner ignites but wont stay on. I have replaced the temp probe & magnet in valve.Worked once then went back to not staying on.Also the knobs keep falling apart. Can someone please help?

I have found that at certain times of the day the gas does go down due to everyone in the area cooking dinner. Gas can go out. I do not turn the gas too low. I manipulate the gas flow from the top and not using the turn to low indicator as the gas will go off. I do keep the burners clean especially the ignite tower.

Knobs! Bain of my life. I did get 1 replacement knob. Melted and broke so bought a set of metal ones. No more problems. Cheaper to!?

I love my gas hob and I keep it clean. I never use steel wool or any abrasives on it. Baking powder is the go. Swear by it for many cleaning jobs.

I noticed near the wok-ring the area had gone brown from the heat. Bit hard to wipe off so tried the BP on a damp super cloth or Enjo’s and it came off. No scratches. I put the trivets in the dish washer when greasy and have spillage on them. I also keep an old tooth brush and a brass brush for the trivets. ONLY!

Always rub with the Stainless grain, easier.

Happy New Year to all.

it's designed to be functioning like this. when igniting, press hold the flare for 5 seconds, so that the valve is heated up, and it would remain on afterwards.

Where can I buy nobs for my 2012 Miele cooktop, what is email address for parts, thanks Lyn Donaldson,my email is guylyn2@bigpond.com

Hi Lyn We contacted Miele and they sent plastic replacement knobs. Its unbelievable that a 2012 Miele hob would need replacement knobs. Sorry you are having the same agro as we had. Our ignition on two of the burners also stopped working and an electrician told us not to waste money having them repaired because the repair wouldn't last either. Surely, your hob is still under guarantee? We have sold that property containing Miele appliances. Good luck Lyn.

Miele Km2012G. Are the knobs still plastic? Do not want Plastic as products reviews say they are NO good. Like the size.

Yes they are still plastic. I would not recommend this product. We have had so many problems and are VERY disappointed considering the cost. We now have an ignition problem and Miele are not prepared to do anything about it so we have to pay for a service call at an horrendous cost no doubt. Good luck with your choice.

Hi Bob, As far as I know they are. As are many of the other well named stovetops. I have not been seaching around for a metal set for awhile, But is ever I find them I will go back in and say so on the site.

It is a real pity, that is the only grumble I have about the top.

It is easy to clean as I rub bicarb on brown marks and always clean after using.

Never needed a scourer or any harsh powders. If anything is a bit burnt on I carefully use 5 minute oven cleaner.

I put the trivots in dishwasher and NEVER THE RINGS as they have aluminium on them and it will go black.

Unless they have changed the knobs as I know now I would have looked elsewhere.

At $23 per knob....no thanks.

A smart alex friend of mine suggested I get 4 of the small lock grip pliers. +(:-}

Definately a different look.

Gooh luck

Ma
