How do I stop the beeping as waterproof fault has come on. How do I fix it.
Good morning, The waterproof fault indicates water has gotten into the base of the appliance/leak is detected. To clear the fault, turn the machine off at the power and water, clean the drain (ensuring a blockage has not caused the leak) before turning the machine back on. To download the user manual, please use the following website link - external link If these actions do not clear the fault, please arrange a service call for the washer. external link external link Alternatively, please feel free to reach out to a member of our Customer Care Team on 1300 464 353. The alarm activated by water at the bottom of the washer and when its dried everything goes back to normal. You are not saying how you got to that stage so I would just guess. The first thing to check is the rubber door seal. Try to check it very carefully for any holes. that would be the easiest thing to replace. From there you would need to take the front cover and check where it might leak from. But If you put too much soap and not enough stuff to wash as my friend did, drum produces a lot of foam that goes over the top and floods the machine. You need to drain the water from the filter, and leave the washer for a day or 2 with the door, filter cover and soap dispenser wide open. It helped my friend. From there you can try to run a wash cycle and if it floods again you back to square one and definitely have a leak that has to be sorted
I use Trimat advanced laundry powder. The detergent has started not to dispense into the wash. What can I do to solve this problem?
Was given a1712 miele washing machines an the water runs out of filter instead of hose an it bangswhen it spins an can not get tge temperature setting right it goes b ack to the beginning help
I have had our W1712 washing machine for many years servicing a family of five, and it has been trouble free. It has developed a squealing noise over a period of several months, which I have identified as the drum rubbing against the door rubber. I have replaced the shock absorbers, which had gone soft, and that dealt with a separate vibration issue. I have also replaced the door seal, but to no avail; it still squeals against the rubber with the new seal.
The drum does not slide backwards or forwards, or wobble, other than what the suspension system will allow, and the drum did not sqeal or grind when I rotated it with the seal removed, so I don't think it's a failed bearing. I did notice the drum is out of round, by about 15mm or so, but it has not been subject to impact, so I suspect it has always been like that.
I have checked with a spirit level that it is level.
I put a thin smear of Savlon around the rim at the seal and this did fix it, however, this shouldn't be necessary.
Any ideas?
Why does the water run out of filter instead if hose an spin cycle ends up back to wash again
Managed to sort it out?
Hi , I also experienced this problem and I found the inner spider ( aluminium cast ) between the two drums to be corroded by laundry rinses like canisten (highly corrosive ) causing the noise and making it look like shocks and spring fault.
I have an W1712 which has no LED display. When I turn the power on it makes the usual "beep" but the LED display does not light up and there is no power getting to the switches.
was this model an above average washing machine...interested in a second hand one
Yes it was a very good machine, but you need to keep them serviced. We have owned several Miele machines, top notch but service is a bit average
Hi, any way to repair the pcb(control board) for this Miele W1712? it has few led steady on and none of the buttons works except on/off! Thank you in advance.
Can anyone advise what is required to stop the machine from banging when on the spin cycle. Is it an expensive repair?
If this is a problem that has progressively occured over time, it may well be the shock absorbers are worn. This is a straightforward fix for an average handyman. You need a torx screw set and a socket set.
Turn off the machine at the power point and remove the plug; you will be working around live wires.
First, remove the top. To do this, on each side of the top towards the front there is a plastic cover tab. Remove this and loosen the screws a few turns. Push the screws in, which will release the securing tab, then jiggle the top around, lift it slightly, then push it away from you to remove.
Remove the plastic cowl which holds the detergent dispenser. Lift it straight up. Be careful with it so you don't damage it.
There are a couple of screws that hold the front panel in place; remove them.
Open the door and remove the two screws on the door latch that hold the door shut and remove the single large screw at the bottom of the drum.
The front panel should come off with a bit of jiggling. You may have to remove the door seal which is held in place by a steel ring with a spring. The spring is located at the bottom. You will have to peel the seal back a bit to see it, but don't force anything, it's not hard to find.
There are two shock absorbers; one on each side at the bottom. Use a socket set and a set spanner to remove them.
That's it! Assembly is the reverse.
I am very please with my machine which I have had for over 15 years. It has been in full use every day and many times a day. However recently I keep getting the waterproof error. We have emptied the machine of water which has enable it to continue. But is there anything else we can do to prevent this error message other than continually tipping it on its side and draining it. Many thanks.
I had the same problem as you. I would like to see what actually happen. I don't want to called the technician all the time and happen when my washing was stuck inside.
Hi was given a 1712 honeycomb do have to keep unlock the with key an when it gets to spin the noise like a bomb going off an not get the right the right level of speed an comes up fault I can not keep opening up the filter
When was this model, Miele W1712 discontinued? How long is Miele’s warranty?
Thanks
Dose Miele W1712 Has drum belt? How to know if is drum belt or bearing gone ?
Yes it does have a drum belt to drive the drum from the motor underneath, but you need to be more specific in describing the issue. If it is a squealing sound, it may be the drum rubbing against the door seal. If that's the case, the first thing to do is look for damage to the door seal. Also, check the level of the machine. I found that if it is tilted marginally back from dead level, this may help.
The drum belt is located on the back of the drum. It is the same style of belt used on "serpentine belts" commonly used on car engines to drive the alternator etc. Look for cracking in the belt.
If the drum vibrates and shakes violently it may be simply an uneven load, or, if this has progressed over time, it may be worn shock absorbers, which will cause a noise when the drum lunges forward and rubs against the door seal. There is another article here on how to fix that.
If it's a grinding sound which happens all the time, and the drum moves forward and backward, other than its normal movement on the dampers, then it may be the main bearing. I can't help with how to fix that.
How do I check the condition of the spider the drum clonks in one place as you turn it and makes a grinding noise
Not sure what you mean by "spider". The drum is supported by tension springs set at the factory but it may be possible for a spring to come off the mounting or elongate over time subject to use. I would remove the top cover off the machine (2 screws at the side near the front under plastic covers you need a TORX driver not a phillips head type) by undoing the 2 screws and slide the top cover back a few cms and it should come off then look down to see if there is anything loose (i.e a spring mount or even something that has entered via the rear of the machine). My neighbour had a dead mouse inside her machine and that not only caused an awful odour but also a noise as it was rubbing on the belt drive, Hope this helps.
to view the spider (inner drum support) on a W1712 would mean a total drum removal and disassemble you cannot otherwise see the spider. the drum can still turn smoothly however the spider may have corroded or developed cracks
W1712 model front loader. What is the plastic yellow tag just inside the lint filter door? I gently gave it a push and it snapped clicked inside into the machine. Have I broken something? Flo
If you have a power failure and need to open the door of the machine you just pull down on that tag and it will open the door. If it has gone inside the machine you should be able to see it and pull it out again otherwise you will have to remove the front of the machine to get it out.
How many kg does the W1712 take
It has a maximum capacity of 6.5kg (dry).
my front loader is leaking from t tray that holds washing liquid ' when it is on t rinse cycle. model 1712
Hi John, thanks for your question. Unfortunately we are not able to determine the issue regarding your washing machine. If you can please book a service call using external link or if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us on 1300 464 353. Kind regards, Anna.
Hey I have just purchased a Miele honeycomb care w1712 front loader and for some reason it stopped during a wash and won’t tuen back on. Anyone had any issues before ??
Exact thing happened to me. The power control board (PCB) fried on mine. I think it’s a design fault in the board. Miele repair will want to charge you $600 for a repair. I fought for about 2 months to have mine repaired for free through fair trading. My tip is to get some written evidence from a Miele salesperson about how long their washing machines last (tip:online chat). They can’t sell these as premium machines that last 20 years and then put faulty parts in them.
Hi Brandon, thanks for your question. Open the door if the water level in the machine allows, and close the door again to see if the machine turns back on. Also, check the power point. If this does not solve the problem, a service call will be required. If you can please book a service call using external link or if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us on 1300 464 353 (please be aware these contact methods are for Australia only). Kind regards, Anna.
I have a Honeycomb care Miele W1712 washing machine. Only has one hose conected to the cold water. Can we heat the water in this machine if so how? Looked at the operating instructions but cannot see anything that will help.
My husband says that is how it is designed should always be connected to cold water and heats up.
Inner bowl scraping on housing, out of alignment. What is the cause?
You really are best to contact Miele and check.
Quite likely that the "spider" mount on the rear of the drum has cracked and broken away from the inner drum. This is part of the whole inner drum assembly usually and can be quite expensive as a repair.
