Hi I have a 2008 mitsubishi Colt with a CVT transmission - and it’s been a brilliant car - recently in a very hot day - i was driving on a tollway - and the engine light came on - i nursed the car to the next exit ( about 8 KLMS - and was looking for a shady place to park . Anyway just before i found said spot - the car stopped moving - in any gear - The gear indicator light on the dashboard flashes between Neutral and Drive . I checked the transmission fluid - and it was a little low - but it’s really dark - almost black . Anyway i’m wondering if this is a common problem - The car didn’t make any weird noises and didn’t do anything to indicate anything serious . Google says if the CVT fluid gets hot or contaminated / it can cause this problem . The car will not move in any gear , Any advice would be great and much appreciated. Thanks in advance Bobby
Can a mitsubishi colt transmission be used in a mitsubishi colt plus
How do I attach the rear seat
When I turn my key on the lights light up but the engine only clicks and beeps. This only does this sometimes. If I jiggle the key around it starts. Sometimes it goes perfectly others it can take up to 10 minutes to start
I would suggest having a mobile mechanic familiar with these type of car look at it. The best solution if belt has broken is to replace with second hand one from gumtree or auto wreckers. Transmission about $700 and same to install
hi a mitsubishi colt 2006 1.5RX 6 speed cvt triptronic sport shift.. i put it into different gears but it doesnt move. any help?
We have owned this car for a few years and it has just recently started making a high pitch beeping sound when driving. It sounds like some sort of alarm. There are no warning lights coming on on the dash. Seat belt works fine. I tried disconnecting the battery to see if that resets itself but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem?
The same for me. I drive for an hour, and I hear a "beep beep" sound, then nothing. Next day the same. I checked the fluid levels, but they are OK. Maybe one of the seatbelt sensors has contact issues?
my 2007 colt has a surging problem, mech said it was the accelerator activator. He also said it was impossible to get one in QZ , even second hand and would take some time to get them from overseas. Does anyone know where i could source one of these?
Sorry no.
hi i have a 2006 mitsubishi colt automatic column gear shifter and the shifter moves forward and backward what is this doing in both positions?
Sorry haven't had that problem on mine.
Is the cvt only in the autos?
Yes CVT is automatic only.
What is the difference between a 2006 colt p and a colt hatchback?
Have had a hatchback and now have a plus. The plus is heavier by some 80 kg I believe. It is not as "peppy" as the hatch back. Plus has auto tailgate that is very useful, Center gear-change (which isnt as good as the column one) Can be used as a manual - but why bother. Has some sort of an auto heater/aircon. The aircon often comes on when turning dials. Rear seat doesn't shuffle forward like the hatch - but can take a 3.6 mtr length of carpet with about a meter hanging out the back. oh rear seat armrest/drink holder.
About everything else is the same.
I prefer to put up with it being a bit slower on acceleration (although there is "sporty" )and have the bigger boot space with auto tailgate. There's still some good 2012 ones about with low mileage.
Does anyone know if a 2007 mitsubishi colt is available in an automatic?
We have a 2006 CVT model and we bought it in 2007. They were still selling it years later mostly with a CVT (auto).
This has been a very nice car to use and own.
It has 476,000 km on it and still has maximum as new compression.
:-)
I have a mitsubishi colt 2008 i am wondering can you folde the backseat?
Yes. The rear seat is a 50/50 fold down. Further I'm pretty sure you can lift up the base level seat first & then fold down the back parts for a flat floor storage area.
I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Colt VRX. Husband took the rear seat out to make more room to pick up a whitegoods item and now we can't get the back seat back in. It just won't sit back in. We now drive the car without a back seat which is no fun because we need the rear seat for carrying passengers occasionally. How do you fit the back seat in? Is it possible?
Hi Deedee, Nothing can be easier than taking the rear seat off and putting it back. I did it when I was transporting my huge fridge. Btw. this’s another advantage of Mitsubishi Colt. No other car in this class has so much inner room and is able to transport bulky things inside like this one.
The whole seat is attached to the body by means of two hinges with ability of moving forth-back and up- down.
How to put your seat back in place?
Basically, it depends how you take it off. The easiest way would be if you took off the plastic covers from hinges and unscrewed two nuts from each of them. Most likely you did it.
1. So now, since your seat off is, pull the hinges out as long as to the end using the fixing lever in front of the seat.
2. That way you have possibility to set the hinges on the screws sticking out of the bottom of car body: two screws for each hinge.
3. Fix up the hinges with the two nuts in front.
4. Using the fixing lever pull your seat forwards to the end. So you make it possible to lift the seat up, using the loop shaped strap in the seat back and to get access to the screws underneath of seat.
5. Fix up the hinges with two other nuts.
6. Put the seat down, push it back using the same fixing strap and you have space to put the plastic covers on the hinges.
That’s it.
I hope it would be helpful. In fact it’s easier to make it than to describe.
Good luck and enjoy your car.
would you buy a second hand one 2008 60000 miles on clock
Possibly if I could afford it and it was a pretty reliable car
