plumbing ice maker. Just fill the water canister every now and then. The thought behind the layout is genius for mine. I've had it for about 12 months now and could not be happier with it, very quiet running. I have an open plan kitchen and living area and never here it. Even the icemaker is quiet. The two freezer draws are perfect and the fruit and vege drawer keeps most items fresh for at least a month I have absolutely no hesitation recommending this fridge. I had a Fisher Paykel for 20 years prior to this one and I am looking forward to another 20 with this one Thanks Mitsubishi I am a happy customer and if for any unfortunate reason i have a need to call for service i hope you back up my experience with the same level of support and service. want to defrost meat quickly . The special compartment uses a technology that helps keep it below 0 but you can still cut through the meat very easily and it’s not a chunk of ice! It’s so much faster prepping meals when using minced meat or wanting to cut a portion of fish for frying without having to defrost the whole thing! The vegetable compartment at the bottom is also super spacious. This including the freezer drawer above both have 2 levels that are designed to stack smoothly and can be easily separated to retrieve items on both shelves. Also very much enjoying the ice maker this summer. The main fridge compartment is also very spacious with customisable shelves as well. The second shelf from the top is convertibles which means you can use it as 2 stories or push back the sliding shelf to make room for tall items/bottles. Very handy. of meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans in our family so being able to do a cook-up for later use is now a dream! The Versa drawer was a whole new concept for us, but once we got the hang of it we use now use the "Hot-freeze" feature a lot for saving leftovers or pre-cooked meals for later use without it getting that awful freezer-burn. The versa drawer is also good for extending use-by dates of meats without solidly deep freezing it. The drawers (freezer and fruit) hold so much and have an excellent sliding shelf/tray for storing smaller/flat foods that would otherwise get lost or buried among larger items. Keeping everything organised and easy to get to is now so easy. The interior shelves inside the main fridge are also adaptable to where we are in our shopping cycle. Having a separate slide out compartment for dairy makes it easy to find all the cheeses and smaller dairy items. The slide-out meat keeper tray is a great place to store sliced meats or small/medium cuts. One of the interior shelves can be slid back to instantly offer more height for larger things. The ice-maker reservoir is easy to refill and the ice drawer can be accessed without opening any other part of the fridge.

My only criticism of the fridge would be that although the doors have shelves which are an excellent size and shape, you are limited as to the heights they can be set. We actually took one of the larger door's shelves away so that we could store large size milk and juice bottles. But don't let that put you off as we don't even miss it as there is so much room for everything anyway.

I would highly recommend this fridge to any family looking for a large fridge with excellent food saving qualities that can also cater for many eating preferences.

drawer inclines to the right side.(minor issue).

I called Mitsubishi customer support then a "service agent" visit me on the next Monday. The service agent is not from Mitsubishi, they outsource their technical support to "sydney appliance service", very poor 2 star rating at true local, http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/sydney-appliance-service/blakehurst.

Basically the guy tried to disassemble my fridge to fix issue 1 & issue 2 without any success. Then he put a 5mm thick wooden board found in my garage under the left rear bottom wheel(left door is higher than right door though, user's manual suggests raise right bottom) . Then 2 doors aligned. But I don't think it is a permanent proper solution will last long, and looks quite ugly.

For issue 2 gaps between doors he even made it worse.

Regardless he claim himself did a perfect job and ask me sign some paper, I refused.

I waited for 3 days and Mitubishi did not contact me. I called them and was asked to send a email and attached relevant photos.

Today I recieved a reply from Mitsubishi:

We have carefully considered the circumstances and have concluded that there is no manufacturing defect, rather an issue with the level of your floor. Therefore as a first step we request that you contact the store that supplied you your product so that they may provide you a remedy.

Mitsubishi,

I am not aware any measurement was done to either my floor or the fridge. How did you draw the conclusion - "issue with the level of your floor"?

8 mm huge gap between doors is still there after level been adjusted by my wooden board, I don't understand how can you claim "that there is no manufacturing defect, rather an issue with the level of your floor"?

I am regret about this purchase and will not buy anything from Mitsubishi again.

automatically and dropped automatically to the ICE tray without any pipe works - thanks to the internal water tank. The ICE is made within 3 hours or you can select rapid ICE to make it in an hour! Boasting 3.5 Star Energy Rating - I like the fridge it has some Smart Features but could be better in price and Solidity of Plastics + Frames.

What can be improved is the plastics appear to be bit flimsy and the drawer tracks too have a big movement sideways and don't look solid to me. Can have LED's in the Freezer and Veg Drawers. The service seems bit adhoc as when I phoned them about the drawers not being aligned straight + the two top doors they took the details and gave me another number to ring supposed to be service agent. Phoned them took my details and they said will call back and up to date nothing has happened.

I only hope it will have the same service that my Phillips Refrigerator gave me for nearly 25 years and don't have to call service ever.

Hope this will help others what to expect from a Mitsubishi Fridge. I gave 3 stars because of bad Customer Service.

Door opening access is allot should be, fridge can be set back in opening with thick doors causing problems. Would buy another without hesitation. worked brilliantly. I then quickly fried them again on X-mas day and they were so flavoursome. The Ice Maker is a dream. Fill the 1.2 Lt water tank and you have at least 100 cubes in a matter of two hours without having to use the Rapid Freeze function. There are compartments everywhere and heaps of storage for vegetables with its huge drawer at the bottom of the fridge. No more having to cut down long vegetable, like celery and you can store large cabbages and cauliflower. At my age, I am hoping this is the last fridge I need and for the first time, I am 100% satisfied!

The very best of the best – This is one of the best appliances I have ever purchased. It is so quiet that I cannot believe it is even on. The ice maker is pure magic, no plumbing required and all the parts are easily cleaned and I still can't quite work out how it all happens. Just be careful NOT to throw away the white matt in the drawer, it is soundproof sheet that absorbs the sound of the ice hitting the tray, but even though I threw it away (as I thought it was part of the packaging!) the ice barely makes a sound. AND for goodwill they are sending me a new one free of charge... The main French door fridge compartment is enormous, it takes far more food than the whole of my last Fridge/Freezer that fitted in the same space. I actually took the shelf that adjusts out because some of my usual items were taller than the shelving allowed but I am sure that most people would manage perfectly. I am now storing heaps more pantry items in the Fridge just to fill it up. I am not using the "vegetable" drawer at the bottom for vegetables or salad yet as they all fit into the main fridge part, so I cannot comment on some of the reviews that say it doesn't keep them very crisp. I actually use it to store a lot of sparking water drinks bottles, potatoes and onions (which technically are veg but not the kind most people were talking about going limp). The vegetable drawer doesn't seem to be as cold as the main fridge but works perfectly to pre-chill the water so that it doesn't take as long to cool down as when I kept them in the pantry. I think at Christmas or when I have a lot of visitors it could be used more effectively... it is early days yet. The compartments in the french doors are massive! I actually don't have enough items to fill them up yet but am working on it! They are also really, really sturdy, made out of far superior material to most plastic fridge door containers. the shelves are also really well made not at all flimsy. I thought it would be a bit weird to have the freezer drawer above the vegetable drawer but to be honest I access my freezer on a daily basis and it is nice not to have to kneel down each time, so I am loving it being at that height. It also has a nice sliding shelf over the main compartment and a separator in the main compartment that works wonders for keeping items in order instead of all ending up in a heap, so everything is really easy to find. The versa drawer, I am using as another freezer for now... not that I have filled the main freezer drawer but again it is so nice to be able to have a compartment specially for different items making it so much more effective to find things.

READ THE MANUAL! seriously there are a lot of things that you won't realize unless you do

If I had to find a fault it would be that if a lot of people were using it then they might accidentally touch the controls on the touch panel on the door and re-set some of the settings... that isn't a problem in my house but might be a consideration for others.

it is expensive but I think it will last 15 to 20 years... my last fridge that cost $2500 lasted 4 years!

We use the extra soft freeze drawer as another freezer drawer. You can set it to whatever function you need so it can also be set to keep food extra cold without freezing. The fridge part at the top with the french doors is very roomy and easy to organise. The doors fit a variety of bottle sizes and a couple of the shelves can be pushed back to fit taller items. I was worried that at 152 cm the fridge would be too 'tall' for me, but I am able to use it effectively.

It is also nice and quiet and the electronic menu on one of the doors is reasonably intuitive.

The other thing that is a blessing in disguise is that the doors are not magnetic so you can't clutter them up with bills and things!

Excellent Fridge – The design is so efficient, it provides 743L storage in a standard dimension. It is very quiet and good energy rating. Multiple compartments really helps to store different type of food. I like the ice making compartment the most because it does not need plumber to do the water feed to the fridge. Just simply put water into a container and it will make ice for me. The fridge is not cheap though.  Show details

want to do anything about it (see my other review on Mitsubishi MR-EX562 / MR-EX655). The retailer happily allowed up to pay the difference in price and they swapped it for us and we bought this model instead. We are more than happy with the cooling and have had NO food spoilage with this fridge. The meat keeper drawer is an added bonus as the smaller model does not have this, and keeps meat fresh and at the correct temperature allowing you to keep meat for approx. a week without having to freeze it. The fridge is quiet and cools magnificently well, in fact we could not get the other model to cool at all well even on the highest setting. The layout of the fridge is fantastic as everything has a place and is easily organised and accessed. I liked the stainless steel finish in the other models, however the white glass finish grows on you and is so much easier to clean and does not easily dent unlike the stainless models (you only have to accidentally slightly knock a stubby top into the stainless and it dents, the white glass model doesn't :) This model is 100%+ better than the Mitsubishi MR-EX562 / MR-EX655. We would highly recommend that anyone looking at these fridges pay the extra few hundred and go with this model as it is totally worth the extra dollar$ :) If we could give a rating of 10 stars we would!!!!

Best Fridge Ever – All the food stays in great condition, the French doors makes everything very accessible. Very easy to clean as all drawers slide right out easily for cleaning.

Having a "bin" for the freezer means that far less cold air escapes when the freezer is opened than with a hinged door.

Highly recommended.

Fruit Veg Drawer issues – My fruit and veg drawer doesn't seem to be keeping my fruit and veg fresh. I have thrown out heaps of stuff and it doesn't have separate compartments for leafy and crisp vegetables as most other standard fridges do. It seems to be running at quite a high temperature. easily accessible freezer and crisper space. This fridge delivers that and lots more. It's easy to clean and keep that way, is so quiet (even when it's being 'noisy' while on Rapid Ice-making mode), and the temperatures are spot on. It also has touch controls on the door that are only displayed when you want to use them. On top of that, it looks great - I'm even more spoiled now.

Pros:

The french door fridge is big, has plenty of adjustable shelves and various sized door storage shelves, a drawer for storing dairy products, fish products and processed meats (-3 degrees C to 3 degrees C) and another to use that way, or for supercool chilling to preserve meat or fish below 0 degrees C, without freezing it! It has an ice-making compartment, which feeds ice into a separate drawer below, so there's no need to open the freezer to get it - and it's not plumbed in. Beside the ice drawer, there's a good-sized drawer that can be used for soft freezing, supercool freezing or hot freezing (to get hot things down to frozen, quickly). How useful is that? Then there's a freezer drawer which I would never have wanted, but this one is big, has a sliding drawer on top (which holds heaps) and lots more room in the compartments below. At the bottom of the whole unit is a big crisper, which also has a roomy sliding drawer on top and spacious compartments below.

Cons:

I'm scratching around here... Maybe if you have a lot of tall food storage containers that won't fit in the doors (with several bottles of wine, the big lite and full cream milk containers and juice - and all the smaller things), then you might need to adjust the shelves a little more creatively. I guess that you also have to put in a little effort to learn to drive the controls. It's not one of the least expensive fridges on the market, but well worth it if you can do it. We're the victims of fridge envy now.
