Just had an N60 installed (1 week) and it is a confused unit. If fluctuates between a wood chewing furnace to a choked smoke machine that won’t stay burning. So far very disappointing.

The top plate is not properly secured and rattles when the kids run around (raised house) even though I reinforced the subfloor where it is located.

Bit curious if people are having issues with them especially given the top baffle is flaking like a 10yo Chinese steel fireplace and another review I read that said Nectre base their burn times off over sized logs.

Struggling to heat a 35m2 lounge at the moment let alone any more of the home.

You didn't read my previous reviews or you wouldn't have bought this piece of crap. I am on my second winter now. It chews through wood with very poor heat output. Nectre claim less emissions per kg of wood but you burn a lot more so that is negated. If it is shut down or on light up it billows smoke into the room. When you clean out the ash dust floats around the room. Ash gets caught on the door frame and falls out when you open the door. To get it going at its best you have to get a good fire going with smaller wood and the put a couple of bigger pieces in. If you want overnight burn it needs the slider air control adjusted so you can actually shut it down more. If it didn't cost so much I would have swapped it out already. Nectre don't answer queries and the shop says my wood is not dry which it is. Sorry I have nothing positive to say it is poorly designed and inefficient.

The manual mentions a top and Botton air vent. I can only find a top air vent. Could you please clarify this? John Tasmania

There is some sort of ineffective air inlet in the back of the heater. Definitely nothing in the bottom. I have made adjustments to the top air inlet to make it close down more and helps with a longer burn time. Still chews through wood with pretty poor heat output.

OK.Thanks. Mine generates a lot of heat. It is situated in a corner. As advertised there is not much in the way of emissions I have to be careful not to load too much firewood.

My Nectre 60 has 5 one inch square air inlets across the top of the heater, seen when you open the door - cranks up the heat beautifully, and then I can get a log to slow burn for most of the night by closing it right down, and by morning its just a pile of ash. Really efficient! Also, instructions are to only burn hardwood. Don't know about a bottom vent - suggest you consult the specs in the blurb.

Thank you all for your questions and comments, I can confirm that this model only has a top air slide and no bottom vent. Thanks

Hi Graeme I live in Melbourne and we are keen to buy a curved N60 but there doesn’t seem to be anyone with stock. I’m happy to drive to ADL to pick the wood heater up direct from manufacturer - can this be arranged? Regards Wayne 0408438371

Don’t buy this heater it is nothing but disappointing. The firebox is too small and shallow. The damper won’t close off enough so it chews through wood like there is no tomorrow and it puts out very little heat! It’s a great waste of money, go for one of the better brands Heatcharm, Eureka or Jindara.

I agree that the damper lever doesnt close down enough. Still chews through the wood so can't leave for long periods . Heats large area room well , too well , because of the faulty damper lever

Can I install N60 header outdoor under pergola? I have got Stratco cooldek pergola. Also will it be damage by rainwater? Will it get rusted sooner outdoor?

Nectre
Nectre   DM

Hi Ashley, My understanding is if a heater is being installed outside it should be undercover, protecting it from the weather. Not being in an enclosed space, the heater will be exposed to outdoor elements, such as high moisture content in air, therefore outer surface likely to rust. Also, to consider is the cleaning of the surface, the heater is painted steel, it is wiped clean with a dry cloth with no chemicals or water. If it is an open area it is also going to be exposed to birds and potentially other animals. Any moisture on the surface will cause rusting.

Hi Graham, I clicked on the link you provided and it says the Nectre 60 is a convection heater but you've just said it's radiant. Which is it?
