My monitor has suddenly stopped playing the lullaby music. It’s worked fine for 9 months and now nothing. My daughter uses this music to self settle. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Is it possible to have the music going on the baby monitor, but NOT on the parent unit without turning the parent unit off (and therefore being unable to monitor what is happening in the room). My son has just decided he wants the music on, but it drives me batty listening to it through the parent unit!

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi there, thanks for the message. Unfortunately, because baby monitors have microphones and are designed to pick up any sound coming out of the nursery, by definition if there is music playing, it will be coming through the audio of the parent unit. Thanks and all the best, Oricom Baby Care.

We bought an Oricom SC910 a little while ago and we were hoping to buy a second camera for it but it seems the baby shops around us are no longer selling them. The CU850 seems to be more readily available so I was just wondering if that camera might be compatible with the SC910 parent unit? Thanks,

Charissa

Hi, my second camera has all of sudden started going to out of range. I've tried to re register that camera and it would work for one second and also tried to turn off and put back on but still no success! Is it faulty? Also won't work when I'm 1 metre away and the bedrooms are only 5 metres apart. Was purchased 3 weeks ago so relatively knew and been kept away from my 2 year old. Thanks

Anyone with the SC700 find the night vision pocture to be really grainy and patchy? It almost looks like a tv channel that's not quite tuned in. Very hard to see clearly at all.

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi Angie, It shouldn't look like that, it should be much clearer. Try turning off both the camera and parent unit then turning them back on again. If you're still having issues please call our Customer Support Team on 1300 889 785. Kind regards, Oricom Baby Care

Hello I have an Oricom SC910 and its is interfering with our wifi connection to the point of not allowing us to use our laptops effectively. My husband and I both rely of wifi to run our laptops and devices for business purposes and this is becoming very frustrating. Please help!

Hi Deanna there is a thread for the SC910 which may be more helpful. I'm sorry I don't have any experience with this however I would call the oricom customer service on 1300 889 785 or email them. I have found them to be helpful in the past. Good luck :)

Our SC700 monitor has recently started having issues in night vision mode. We are getting these white flashes on the screen that look like a sheet fluttering in the room that look vaguely ghost-like - very disconcerting! Can you provide any insight on why this would be happening? The monitor is around 4 - 5 years old.

Regards

Nik

Michelle Tarr
Michelle Tarr

Hi Nik that sounds terrible. I'd be quite concerned as well! The only thing I can think of is interference from something - wi-fi signals, mobile phone microwave etc. other than that it may just be the age of the unit unfortunately. Sorry I haven't been much help - I haven't had an issue like this yet. Shel

Hi,

Is an 850 parent unit compatible with a 710 camera? My 2yo has hidden my 710 parent unit but I still have the camera. A friend has a spare 850 parent unit which she has offered me.

Thanks

From what I have seen, no they aren't compatible. Oricom are very quick to respond though so maybe email them - they will be able to assist.

Hi Tishana, Sorry no, the SC710 parent can connect to an SC850 camera but not the other way around. We hope your parent unit turns up soon! Best regards, Oricom Baby Care

I am from New Zealand but my mum purchased this monitor in September 2013 (so still within the 3 year warranty period) from Australia as she lives there. I have sent an email and tried to ring the 0800 number in New Zealand several times and am just getting nowhere with anyone answering me and becoming very frustrated. Can someone please contact me lara_quinn_@hotmail.com so I can please get this sorted. My microphone on the main unit in the babies room no longer works properly and we can't hear our kids unless they are yelling at the very top of their lunges and even then it is VERY quite over the parent monitor.

I would like this sorted ASAP as I am getting annoyed at not being able to get a hold of anyone to speak to about this issue.

I have the SC710 with a second child unit as C2. Due to our 2yr old playing with the monitor we "Lost" the second unit. When I re-registered it I activated C4 somehow as well. How do I stop the scan function from looking for C4 with subsequent "Out of Run" Beep?

Hi! I just received the sc700 for Xmas and couldn't use it as it kept losing range. Can I please ask how I can fix this and if I can get a replacement?

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi Vira, Is it possible you have the SC710 not the SC700? We are sorry you are experiencing this issue. The most likely reason for receiving the out of range alert and limited range on the SC710 is frequency congestion. If this is the cause, resetting your monitor will avoid busy channels.

1.Turn both Camera and Parent units off and remove the battery in the parent unit. Leave unplugged for 5mins.

2.If you have Wi-Fi in the home, make it busy by streaming a video on YouTube or similar.

3.Turn the camera back on wait for 30 seconds.

4.Ensure the antenna on both the parent unit and camera unit is in the vertical position.

5.Plug the battery into the parent unit and turn on.

If the display is still showing “Out of Range” please relink the units as instructed in the user guide. When relinking it is best to keep the camera and parent units close together (within 1m) and keep clear of all other electronic devices including mobile phones, tablets or computers.

If this process is unsuccessful please contact our support team and we will assist you further. Phone: 1300 889 785

We have had the sc 700 monitor for 4yrs now and gave been really happy. The camera has just stopped working with baby 2. Is it possible to get the sc 710 extra camera and for it to be compatible instead of us buying a whole new unit?

Oricom

Hi Krissy, Unfortunately this is a discontinued model which has been replaced by the SC710. The camera units for the SC710 are not compatible with the SC700. No there 2 different cameras

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi Donnab01, The SC710 parent unit is compatible with SC710 and SC850 cameras only. The camera for the SC850 (model: CU850) has a motorised pan-tilt function that can be operated from your SC710 parent unit in the same way you operate your digital pan-tilt zoom. Best regards, Oricom Baby Care

Hi there, currently looking at the Oricom secure 710 unit. What security features does this model have? It has secure in its title, however can't find anything about what makes this model secure. Any information would be appreciated. Imogen

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi Imogen, The SC710 Baby monitor offers digital security, it operates on 2.4ghz FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) which is prohibitively difficult to 'hack' (as opposed to Wi-Fi connection) meaning that when using this monitor, you are the only one that can hear and see your baby. If you would like further assurance of the security of the monitor please feel free to call our friendly Customer Support Team on 1300 889 785. Best regards, Oricom Baby Care
