Scandia Warmbrite Questions & Answers
VerifiedWill the eco fan work on a free standing gas heater which radiates heat and has a vented top for heat to also transfer upwards? Would this upset the temperature differential for the fan to work (ie would the whole unit heat up too much for the fan to run)?
Regards Vic
Hi Vic, i dont believe the top of the gas freestanding heater would get hot enough, but you are welcome to give it a try. The Eco fan uses thermal energy transferred from the top plate of a raidant freestanding solid fuel stove and through the base, transfers the heat energy into electrical energy to turn the fan. It is designed to work on solid fuel fireplace top plates when roaring hot fires are in operation. Gas Freestanders usually have inbuilt fans, which model do u have? Graham Scandia Customer Service Team Leader...
Hi just wonder with the fan as we have turned it on but its not going does it need to get hotter before it kicks in?
Hi Michelle, the eco fans do require the fire to be roaring and the top plate very hot to work, wait till the fire is hot and established before placing the eco fan on top, let us know if you have any other issues or need anything again in the future, Graham @ Scandia
Had our flue recently replaced due to clogging, now fire still not igniting fully. So much smoke rotating inside box and little coming out chimney, when fan on smoke comes thru. Any ideas why still not working??
Hi Bee, i highly recommend you contact our service team on 1300 HEATER and or email them on service@scandiagroup.com.au . They will be able to go through it all and advise on what is happening and help with getting this resolved for you, on the face of it, it appears the new flue installation may have an issue with it. Please send photos and contact details Graham (Customer Service Team Leader- Scandia)
The glass broken How can I get new glass?
Hi Rob E, if you can confirm the serial number or the series of your Warmbrite 300 i can give you a code to use when ordering the spare part through the special orders desk of your local Bunnings Store, Graham (Customer Service Team Leader @ Scandia)
Is the stand removable as we would like to use one we already have which is lower?
Hi Ross, the pedestal on the Warmbrite 140 is welded on so i believe this would be difficult to remove. Secondly i wouldnt recommend it as this model is a small radiant fireplace which really does put out a lot of heat for its size. Whatever you put it on top of rather than the pedestal provided would also be un-tested. Graham (Customer Service Team Leader) @ Scandia service@scandiagroup.com.au
Hi guys can you please tell me if you can still buy the 200 series 3 and are they good cheers Jo

Can I burn some cypress pine with red gum in the 140
Hi Larry, cypress pine is good as kindling as it is quick to ignite and burns strong. Use double or triple split red gum next once the fire is ready to be built up, then large logs when ready. Graham (Customer Service Team Leader)
Thank you for your prompt reply
Why does our Scandie 200 vent keeps sticking is very hard to open & close it has only been installed about one month. Thanks Denise, .
Hi Didd, i would need to confirm the series you have, if it is a series 3 or a new series 4 as they have different air slide mechanisms which would be given different solutions, can you please email a picture of your air slide to me at service@scandiagroup.com.au attn Graham and i will have a look for you and advise?
It's a 4
Hi Didd, the airslide adjustment assembly tension can be adjusted by loosening the screws that hold the spring/washers on, if you find the vent harder to open/close when you are firing the fireplace a known solution is to remove and turn over the washer then you will find the vent easier to operate. I am having issues with the Flu letting in rain water and birds.
We have now found our third bird on the firebox.
Also we get rain water inside the firebox.
The woodheater and flu were installed professionally and yet we have this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and how can we fix it.
What type of firebricks do I need to replace them
Hi Darryl, you will need to purchase a Warmbrite 140 Vermiculite Brick Set, these are available for purchase from the special orders desk at Bunnings, ask them to quote fineline 3171704 and they will be able to quote for you. Scandia Customer Service
What firebricks do I need
do you put baffle gap front or back
Afternoon John, The baffle should be pushed completely to the back. So, there will be a gap in front. Regards Nicolas Customer Service
Is it possible to change the height the warmbrite 200 sits off the floor by adjusting the bottom stand? Thinking of sitting it on low bench but worries it will look too high.
Afternoon Rob, Unfortunately, the bottom stand cannot be adjusted. You can install it on a low bench but you cannot alter the design. Regards Nicolas Customer Service Scandia Group Pty Ltd 58 Access Way, Carrum Downs 3201. T +61 3 8579 5900 | | E service@scandiagroup.com.au
Had a Warmbrite 200 professionally installed on 25th July 2022.
Fired it up over the last few days, only to find that I am unable to maintain a fire unless the door is kept ajar.
The fire draws beautifully with the door ajar, but as soon as the door is closed the fire starves of oxygen, and is largely extinguished within minutes.
This is despite the damper being left wide open (and confirmed visually that the air holes in the slide were fully open).
Also, the damper cannot be adjusted with the door closed - the door jams the slide.
Please advise how to get the fire to draw properly with the door closed.
And, was the fire designed so that the door must be opened in order to adjust the damper?
Afternoon Mark, That will happen if the flue is not hot enough. You normally need to leave the door partially open to build the fire until the flue get really hot before you close the door. That process can take up to 30 mins or more sometimes depending on how dry is your wood. The fire should be roaring before closing the door. Any questions please do not hesitate to email us at service@scandiagroup.com.au or call us on 03 8579 5900 Regards Nicolas Customer Service
I was wondering if the top of the Scandia Warmbrite 300 gets hot enough to put a kettle on or slow cook soup etc.
Hi Sue Mine certainly gets pretty hot and more than hot enough to keep a tea pot or a cooked soup or stew beautifully hot. Think you would need a fair amount of wood to cook from scratch and the heat would not help the longevity of the stove. Ron
Morning Sue, Unfortunately, not recommended. Will damage the top part of the fireplace. Regards Nicolas Scandia Customer Service
Hi, I have a Sandia 200. It has a cracked glass door How do I replace it Thank you
Afternoon Dennis, You just need to remove the glass retainer. Screws are located behind the door rope. Thank you. Nicolas/ Scandia Customer Service
