Hi I seem to be having the same problem as many, the base is getting stuck to the kettle and the light is flashing but not staying on?? I’m in the UK, I bought the kettle 18months ago but no longer have the purchase receipt...

Hi I have had my SMEG kettle for nearly 2 years now, however the base is now getting stuck to the kettle, so when i pick the kettle up the base comes with it which is annoying. I now need to hold the base every time i lift the kettle up. please advise further? thanks

Dear Dilem, I am the National l Service Manager for Smeg and I would like to assist with this problem, have you tried to clean both surfaces if so and there is still an issue could you please email me direct at steve.cullen@smeg.com.au with your address, telephone contact details and also if you can scan me a photograph of the rating plate from the base of the appliance. I want to buy the stainless steel kettle but the reviews are extremely disappointing. Has this issue with the kids resolved by SMEG??

Product Review sent me your question to help answer, but I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. We have had our kettle for 2 years, and it was replaced due to the paint bubble, no questions asked by the Adelaide rep.

I also notice that Smeg are quick to offer assistance via Product Review, and that always gives me confidence when buying a product, knowing that they monitor reviews and act on them.

After having the lid on my Smeg kettle stick many times my husband saw debris in the water just as he was making tea. I realized it was part of the kettle, either the lid or a coating. He has been drinking this water for a bit now and am hoping it wasn't too contaminated. Any suggestions??
