No, they have changed in all the ways that should matter. The recipe is supposedly healthier but i doubt the validity of that, they are more watery and airy than ever, and they taste like frozen all-you-can-eat bistro choc mousse......

Part of their so called 'heath initiative' and a selling point some years ago was that they reduced the calories, yeah they literally made the snack smaller, and not just a little smaller, i mean, A LOT SMALLER, this was supposedly as a result of controlled portions for school canteens, ok , so what, make smaller ones for schools and leave the retail world alone... Cornetto's come in two sizes..... plus all the air whipped in and there's just nothing there anymore.

NO Rosanna they are definitely different. I first purchased a chocolate paddle pop at the milk bar across the road from Lane Cove primary school back in the early 70s. I was 5 years old and it cost me 5cents, one taste and I was hooked. The flavour was a dense milky chocolate, the texture was hard and creamy and it took ages to start to melt. The paper was quite thick and somethimes it would stick to the outside, so i had to lick it till i could peel it off before

Then came the 80’s and the recipe changed, they became icy and lost a lot of the dense milk chocolate flavour, and they seemed at least 20% smaller.

I loved the competitions they ran to win cool stuff and I collected as many sticks as I could, saving each one in a sandwich bag.

During the 90’s and 00’s the packaging switched to plastic and the paddle pop became a chocolate “flavoured” ICE block that would shame the paddlepop lion out of his jungle.

I agree with all of you; so sad they are making them like that now; i dont buy them anymore! I gave them quite a few chances , each time i get more disappointed! !

There is a silver lining. I came across the Streets Paddle Pop Thickshake Icecream in Foodland and it is very close to the the original chocolate paddle pop. It’s in a 1 litre Ice Cream container.
