Sunbeam Caffe Bellissimo EM9300 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: EM9300I have Sunbeam Caffe Bellissimo EM9300 and the screen just went blank - nothing. Does it have an internal fuse that may have blown?
I do not have an answer Email on Sunbeam website
Hi Amelia, Attached is a list from our website of our service agents external link whom should be able to assist you with your enquiry. Thanks
hello i have been the proud owner for the last 6 years of the bellissimo espresso machine, un fortunately i broke the part like a window with a round hole in it. i broke the bar that is attached to it.will i be able to buy a spare part for this machine. regards, Rudy
I suggest you contact sunbeam with a photograph
Hi Rudolf, Unfortunately we don't have any spare parts for this machine anymore. You could maybe try ebay but I'm not sure if you will find anything sorry. Thanks
How do I set the default coffee type to espresso (black coffee)?
Hi Jcoffer, if you go on to Google you will be able to download the instruction manual and this should explain everything.
Hi have been very happy with this machine for 2 years. It has just started not sucking up milk or rinsing water any answers? Have cleaned machine as per book, changed tubing. Help please.
I have just been given this machine. It is brand new except it is missing the milk box accessory. Can I just put the tube into a milk bottle/ container?
Definitely can, i never used the included milk box. Always straight into a 2 litre milk bottle
Hi Pip, thanks for your question. The milk box is still available as a spare part and can be purchased from Big Warehouse Spares who are an online spare part provider. However, if you didn't wish to spend the extra money, as per Dragan's advice, you can put the tube straight into a milk bottle.
Kind Regards,

Please help, when my machine is turned on/off the rinse cycle it does will not run through the spout, it fills up the coffee ground chamber instead. What can I do to fix this? When making a coffee it still works well, and I have cleaned and used tool to turn machanisam, not sure what else I can do?
I have the caffe Bellissimo EM9300 and when it's turned on it goes to fault 10 the brewing unit has been cleaned that didn't work
Any ideas ???
adjust grinding coarseness where beans are placed. or possibly the preground coffee may be too fine for machine. Also reser by switching machine power on /off like a computer
I've been using this machine and have been quite happy for the past 6 months to 1 year. Got this machine used so no warranties. Recently, had a problem upon turning the machine on, it shows the hot water dispense on the display but no water drips from the spouts, then an error message shows "10' which means the fineness of the grinding is too fine, but adjusting this doesn't solve the problem. I've cleaned out the brewing chamber thoroughly, tried to clean the grinder as well but only got to the point that exposes the grinding blades... didn't proceed further. problem hasn't been fixed yet. Please help.
try to adjust the brewing unit. Push the toothed opening on the measuring spoon onto the pin turn it till the brewing unit open thoroughly, at least 10 - 20 times, may be more If you only experience error 1 or 10, it should be solved by the above way
Opened the brewing chamber fully then returned the brewing unit into the machine. Turned on the machine and it went through the usual heating cycle, then displayed the dripping action, however, no droplets came out and then after a while, the machine stopped and again showed error 10. Tried this 3 times and still got the same results. Please help. Thanks!
Have you got the booklet?find out the solution for error 1. It is because of the middle of brewing unit locked. No grounded coffee can be put in to the brewing unit. So you always got error 1 and 10. It is actually regardless the fineness of grinding coz nothing in it.
Follow the step showing on the manual, it suggest turn only 3 times. However you may have to turn 20 ~30 times, fully open the brewing unit .Then It should work well.
Heres the step on manual.
If the brewing unit is closed, you can loosenit on the back with the help of the tool function on the measuring spoon. Push thetoothed opening on the measuring spoon ontothe pin and loosen it by turning completely atleast 3 times
Hope this helps
I tried it again. Opened the chamber fully but water still doesn't drip during the initial rinsing cycle and it still shows error 10. Please help. Thanks.
Hi, when you get out your brewing unit, can you see the stainless steel screens.
No, the chamber is closed. The pin has to be turned several times to expose the stainless steel screens. But even after doing this, the water still didn't drip during the cleaning cycle.
Have you tried to use hot water to wash the whole brewing unit?
Open the chamber first , then clean the brewing unit under hot running water to remove coffee residue after that dry the brewing unit.
I have totally dismantled the brewing unit and cleaned it out thoroughly. There are no more coffee stains or residues. I also opened the inlet water valve and it looks normal and clean, not clogged at all. Outlet water pressure valve also cleaned and looks okay. Please help.
Hello, still hoping to get more useful feedback on how to fix my unit. Thank you!
Turned mine on for the first time and immediately got error 10. Grinder is set for coarsest setting. Any ideas?
This is one of the reasons we ditched ours. It would throw up error messages even after we'd followed all the instructions and cleaned the basterd 50 times. IMO with coffee machines it really is a case of you get what you pay for. I don't have any other advice for you I'm sorry.
try just adjust the brewing unit. Push the toothed opening on the measuring spoon onto the pin turn it till the brewing unit open. I had the same issue and solve it by using the way above. Also as mentioned on the booklet,if you see the error 1 or 10, it should be the same issue, otherwise that is PCB issue.
The machine itself is great, it is actually the WIK 9757W.1. Nothing different.
yep fiddling around the brewing unit did the trick. actually pretty happy with the build quality of the unit when I took it apart and had a look at it. works fine now.
th87: Please describe how to "fiddle" around with the brewing unit. Mine still doesn't work and keeps on showing error 10, and there is no water dripping during the cleaning cycle. Thanks!
Hi! Bought one of these the other day, keeps coming up with a symbol that's not in the book it is a picture of the machine and a tap pouring water into a cup then the milk funnel in a cup?
Won't go back to main menu.
Hi. I don't have the machine or the owners manual any more (I returned them). From memory it sounds like it wants you to do a rinse cycle.
Yeah sounds like it wants you do run the cleaning or de-scale cycle.

Is this suitable for ground coffee, to make latte or cappuccino? I drink a lot of coffee in a day, not just 1 or 2. And if I want to make 5 or 6 caps at one time, is this capable of handling that?
Reading comments back to 2013, I don't think it is - the comment was that you only got black, one cup at a time (with the ground) and couldn't have milk added automatically with ground coffee in its small dispenser.
Also I have reservations about its grinder, from some comments.
I can probably cope with the milk carton and cleaning business ...
They're selling for about $550 now, but my experience with a cheaper, manual Sunbeam wasn't good. It cost me heaps in rubber seals, and I ended up throwing it out after 2 years.
Hi there I cannot comment on the milk issue as I only have my coffee black. My husband has used the milk dispenser on rare occasions and not had a problem with it. I do not find the machine at all messy, it makes the coffee much quicker than other cheaper 'pod' machines. Apart from the issue I reported earlier which is now fixed I love the machine, so easy, so convenient and no mess
There is a separate compartment next to the coffee bean container for using pre-ground coffee. I don't see why it couldn't add frothed milk if you used pre-ground, as my wife used to make cappuccinos with it using pre-ground decaf.
It would make 5-6 capps one after the other, the question is for how long it would be able to do so. Not long term I'd suggest, given your coffee usage I'd suggest spending the extra on a machine that could support your coffee usage a lot better than this one.
Hi;
Is this basically the same machine as the Panasonic Automatic Espresso Machine NC-ZA1
Yes they are more or less the same. Both made at the same factory.
I have just bought this machine this week and have not used yet. My concern is regarding cleaning of the milk tube. How easy is to clean this tube and how often have to clean the tube and machine? This machine will be used once in the morning for two cups or so?
When you turn it off after your coffee in the morning it'll prompt you to flush. I used a bit of detergent in a cup of hot water. It'll suck it up and then stop and ask you to press start again, I then replace the soapy water with plain water and let it do it again. It sounds alot of mucking around but it honestly only takes a couple of secs.....by the time you've wiped arount the machine you have rinsed it too:)
Thank you Tonie for the response. Like other I also find that the milk based coffee is cold. I cannot imagine that such a top range sunbeam coffee machine is producing not enough hot coffee which is designed and engineered to do so. Since this machine is within the refund period and I asked for refund, but the Harris Scarfe denied to refund and send for repair. What a disappointing?
Hi Durga, in my experience, it won't get repaired or 'fixed' that's as hot as it'll get, specially if you are in Melbourne, the service techs I found useless with my issues. I won't even go there. Don't give up though Sunbeam need to realise they have a good concept but they have not executed it well. It doesn't take a couple of seconds for the milk cleaning procedure, if you time it really is a couple of minutes, and it IS a lot of mucking around, in particular if you only want one cup. Although we bought it for the one touch cappuccino, we never actually used it because of all this. We use the microwave to warm up the milk.
wait for part two...
Part 2. The Grinder in my brothers machine has also given up, barely after 12 months.Unfortunately Durga, although it is Sunbeams most expensive mode l by $50.00 over the next least expensive. The machine it self is basic when compared with thee likes of Saeco, Krupps, DeLonghi etc. I used to own a 3K Krupps which lasted very long as you would expect, performing as it should,I also had a $600.00 or do semi-auto Krupps which I loved, but I dropped the basket one too many times, and did not find a replacement as the model had been superseded etc.-That's how long it lasted!.
If you persevere with the Bellissimo, clean the brewing unit everyday, yes everyday before use, not once a week or month. Set the grind to the middle, and do not use beans that have shiny surface, this 'coating' is not liked by the machine.
Please excuse the long winded response, but I wish someone had given me this advice when I first started using the machine.
Thanks Rob F. Because of cleaning process and temperature of the milk based coffee, I will use separate milk frother and this machine will be used only for black coffee.
Hi i purchased one of your coffee machines 2 weeks ago love the way it works so easy but we are getting a nasty after taste in our mouth any suggestions ??? have cleaned out the unit several times .
Hi Jo, perhaps change the setting of the beans on the unit, you may have it on either too fine or too coarse. You can contact our Consumer Support Coffee line on 1300 881 861 to discuss further.
Hi there,I am having problems when I use the ground coffee in the machine. The coffee does not come out only hot water. Don't know what I am doing wrong. It works fine when I use beans though. I have to remove the powder & clean it out. The powder in the machine is still dry? Any suggestions please
Hi how are you, yeah it does seem to get blocked when you use ground coffee, I don;'t think it is designed for it. I reckon if you going to use ground coffee use a perculator instead. This would be the only trouble I have ever had with the machine. The whole idea is to have freashly ground coffee through use of beans which the machine does fine, if you only use beans you'll never have problems......
Hi Bernie, Please take out the grinder and thoroughly clean. Then ensure that you have set to ground coffee. For further assistance please contact our Consumer Support Team on 1300 881 861.
sorry for the late reply Bernie, unfortunately I can't help, my brother actually has the same issue, I hope the grinder removal and clean helped, did it?
To sunbeam official, my brother has the same issue as this, how do you remove the grinder, we can see two screws on the corners, tried pulling out, but were unable to. Can you please tell us how to remove the grinder.
Tried it out before seeing this question. Firstly select the pre ground option, then open the bean hopper to get to the pre ground hopper (smaller chute with the holes in the top) then put the cup under and press ok. You'll get a short burst of water only, then it will dispense coffee. You can only do one cup at a time and so far have not been able to work out how to set it up for latte/cappuccino using pre ground
Another question for you, do you have to use beans in this machine, can ground coffee be used also?
Yo can use bot there is a littl compartment you cant put ready ground coffee
Yes both, I believe one cup at a time for the ground coffee,a s the reservoir is very small, compared to the coffee beans.
I am thinking of getting one of these. but can anyone tell me what measurement is the space between the pouring spout and the tray the cup sits on? i.e. how tall a glass/cup will fit on this machine?
thanks
Alex
The beauty if this machine is that you can push the drip tray in and it allows heaps of room
10.0 - 13.5cm tall cup/glass (when pushing in the drip tray).
Hi THere,
THanks for the review, just wondering what the clean up is like having the milk in the machine. Do you need to empty the milk each time if you use it say once in morn and afternoon.
And also does it take long for the machine to warm up to operating temp?
Cheers,
Andrew
The milk sits in a separate container on the side. It's like a small Esky, takes a 1 litre milk carton and has freezer packs either side to keep the milk cool. I find I use 1 freezer pack in the morning and swap to the 2nd one later which keeps milk cool all day. I have my machine on for about 6hrs a day and when I turn it off that's when you clean the milk frothing system. It's very simple, flush 2 separate lots of warm 240ml water thru, the first with bi carb soda. If you use the machine a couple of times a day it will stay on (length of time in machine settings), if you don't use it will auto turn off.
When I turn it on in the morning (after setting up milk and topping up water) it only takes a min or so and it's ready to go. There are changeable settings for the amount of time it takes to heat up, I use the Economy setting.
Hope that helps.
There is no container for the milk. Often we just put the tube directly into the carton/bottle, as it only takes the milk it uses. Very efficient. Hope that answers your question.
I have just bought this machine this week and have not used yet. My concern is regarding cleaning of the milk tube. How easy is to clean this tube and how often have to clean the tube and machine? This machine will be used once in the morning for two cups or so?
My one , bought 4 months ago, not even use every day , faulty working now. Send to repair centre a week ago, not hear anything yet.
Wonder can get hired / replacement ?
Hi - I would contact Sunbeam directly, have found them to be really good. I haven't had a problem with my machine (although the on/off button is just starting to stick a bit) so I can't really comment in regards to whether you can get a hire machine (I would doubt it, you would probably need to wait for a response from the repair centre). I am sure if your machine is faulty the retailer would either offer a replacement, a credit towards another machine or a refund. As I said, if you are not happy, contact Sunbeam directly as I have found them to be very helpful.
Rick

I called that number but answered by unhelpful guy told me to wait then hung up the phone. I called them back 4 or 5 times but no one answered, i was dumped. Finally, I call to the store ( The Good guy) where I bought it then they give me a contact number of a repair centre. I sent my machine to there last week, i was told that i have to wait 2 to 4 weeks.
K.K if you are still around, I would like to know details of the problems your coffee machine was having, are they the same as mine?. Not pouring any coffee, then displaying error 10 etc.
Me again K.K reason I ask for details is that my unit seems to be showing problems at the same time yours did,. In the meantime, I found these details in another forum where people were not happy with the customer service provided by sunbeam, they got somewhere after emailing their head office, being hung up on is very unprofessional! e-mail, (gudhold@gud.com.au), they own Sunbeam in Australia.
